Breathwork with Rebecca Kordecki has literally changed my life! I'm a wellness professional and a junkie for all things holistic health -- I've tried it all, psychotherapy of various forms, hypnosis, acupuncture, massage, nutrition, yoga and various meditation and spiritual practices. Nothing for me has been as transformative as breathwork. I'm a Type-A personality who is always on-the-go, has a million ideas and is always planning the future. I stumbled upon a breathwork class months ago. I had a difficult time with it due to pain. My ribs/upper back has been out of whack since I had a mastectomy with reconstructive surgery over 10 years ago. Chiropractors could correct it but it would always slip back out soon after my appointment. Rebecca was such an amazing coach. It's hard to find the exact words to describe how much Rebecca and her Breathwork classes and trainings have impacted my life but I will do my best. Let me first start by saying that this isn't the type of work or "service" that can be summed up in a few tight and quippy sentiments. This modality of breathwork meditation is such a personal and individual practic. The experience one has is a direct reflection of what one can receive by their own inner intelligence by breathing. I personally found out about Breathwork last year during a deep and deliberate dive into my own self love practice. I was trying anything and everything in the metaphysical / meditation/ healing and expansion realm to help open me up and show me my most authentic life's purpose. My first experience was mind blowing. I had never encountered a modality where I noticed changes in the first moment of practicing. I tapped into a deep part of my brain that connected me directly to my heart. I didn't have to take a drug or sit in therapy talking for years and years until I had a breakthrough. Pictures and experiences of what I needed to process from my past, present and future all presented themselves on a subconscious dinner platter and I was able to release and process everything that I needed to in that moment, just by breathing. From that point forward I knew this modality was for me and began my quest to learn everything I could about it. I attended several different breathwork workshops and classes with teachers all around the LA area. I I knew I wanted to gift others with this modality and experienced a spirit call to learn how to become a teacher and facilitator myself. I began my search for a mentor and teacher. It was in this span of a few weeks of this realization when I signed up for Rebecca's breathwork class at the den. Her class was everythign I had been searching for. Everything she talked about and the way she guided us was so on point to everything I was feeling and believing. I got so excited during the class that it took that my breathwork experience to a whole new level. A rush of ecstatic alignment made me shed tears of joy and vibrate all over. It was like I found a long lost family member who I had been searching for my entire life. After class I hugged Rebecca and told her that she was my "spirit animal". Which, thankfully got a big laugh! I asked her where she received her teachings from and who can I call to sign up. She mentioned she was putting together her first teacher training. JACKPOT!!! Eight souls stepped into the yurt to begin learning how to provide 1 x1 breathwork services and SO MUCH MORE. Rebecca had gifted us wit bound curriculum books, personalized eye masks, bracelets, branded notebooks, pens, glass water bottles and palo santo as our take home gifts. I mean COME ON!!! Who does this??? Rebecca gives ALL her herself. She is 100% authentic in every single thing she says and does. Her openness and vulnerability, is to me, the only way you can give this gift of breathwork it's true justice. She does not hold back. All 8 of us came as strangers and left as family. We processed more together in the span of 20 hours that many wouldn't get to in a lifetime. We learned not only so much about holding space for breathers but also how to hone in our own personal healing superpowers, to make each session and practice our own. We learned some wildly heart opening and bonding exercises that shifted out energy into a huge, expanding portal of love and pure emotion. People spend their lives searching for deep connection to others but we let societal pressures and everything else cloud and distract us, ultimately causing more separation. We end up with feelings of deep loss, anxiety and disconnection. When I reflect on the feelings I left with after my weekend learning in the yurt my entire body feels warm and my soul feels nurtured. Pure magic occurred there. Each and every one of us felt it. We have our open hearts to thank for that but MOSTLY we have Rebecca for opening this door and giving us the space and the walkway to encounter these gifts. My first experience with breathwork was with Rebecca at the Church in Ocean Park & I can't wait to go back again! I didn't know what to expect but it was amazing. I bawled my eyes out and could feel years of tension & stress leaving my body. My boyfriend (a psychotherapist) said it felt like 2 years worth of therapy in an hour. For couples or even friends, I would consider not laying out your yoga mats next to each other. I tried traditional talk therapy for many years, but there was really no changes happening in my life. On the contrary things got worst, because I was so emotionally shut down. Let me tell you about the all amazing essence of Rebecca and her breathwork teacher training and BW classes: let me preface this by saying that our first day of class I was in actual hysterics sobbing over Zoom, and shortly thereafter, had to carry my dog over the rainbow bridge. Rebecca and the other 9 angels in my group were a support group, grief counselors, sisters, brother, and friends. I was able to find some sense of peace over my tragedy that I just experienced. The teacher training itself is priceless. I learned an immense amount not only about breath work and how to be an effective teacher, but about my own passion, purpose, and why. I learned business and marketing skills and how to implement them to begin, AND Rebecca held all of us accountable by giving us 30 days to DO SOMETHING towards teaching our first session. Another thing I gained was the deep connection between all of us, and I still speak regularly to people in my class. When I went to my very first breathwork class, I had absolutely no idea what to expect. I could never have imagined that it would be such an incredibly healing, transformative experience for me, and I couldn't imagine being in a class that was led by anyone other than Rebecca. Her genuine passion for this practice combined with her warmth and presence makes her an absolute force. Her class is something I look forward to each week and I credit this phenomenal lady with helping me to heal in this wonderfully healthy way. The past year has been very challenging for me personally and I have found that breathwork has allowed me to release painful emotions and experiences more than anything else I have tried. I had no idea that it would be so incredibly powerful, but I leave each session feeling as though a giant weight has lifted off my chest and I feel much more grounded in the days that follow, with an ability to manage my anxiety and process any pain that arises. One thing of many that I love about breathwork is that you don't have to dig through your wounds and traumas in order to heal. You simply follow Rebecca's guidance, focus on your breath and the emotional shift comes naturally- almost subsconciously, as though you are encouraging your body to heal in its most organic way, without forcing it. I never expect or anticipate the release, but it always happens as a result of this wonderful work and I feel so much more alive afterwards, with a stronger connection to my sense of self and a renewed feeling of empowerment. I did not have many experiences with Breathwork, but I already knew of the impact it had, and I felt called to explore it deeper by doing the teacher training. After doing some research online, I found Rebecca Kordecki from The Breath Zone, and it felt right to go with her; she seemed real, honest, inspiring, and the testimonials I found, along with my gut feeling, reinforced that I was going to be safe. The training was held online, which allowed me to take it even though I was in a different city. I have done multiple training for other modalities (in-person and online), and the Breathwork training with Rebecca did not disappoint. It was very meaningful for me that it was not only a training about a technique or how to lead other people through Breathwork, but it also allowed me to be vulnerable and face things from within that were holding me back, as well as being more aware of the responsibility of self-care in order to be good facilitators. 3x I've gone back to the DEN for Rebecca's breathwork class and each time is just as good as the last. Rebecca's intro to the technique and coaching throughout the session is what makes her special as an instructor. Often it's hard to "drop into" the process to get the full benefit, especially if the instructor doesn't facilitate it well. They can also be too 'woo woo-y'. But Rebecca does it right. I recommend her to friends who are skeptical of the process. Her words are inspiring, motivating me to push through to the very end. Her playlists are curated to enhance the process, both the lyrics and melodies take you to another level. Dedicated to the process and "doing the work" herself, she understands the power and conveys that to her students perfectly. She is full of energy, encouraging, uplifting, and most students inevitably give her a big "thank you" hug upon leaving. I wish the session could be longer! read more
