Careful with this business...I spent $2400 on a small landscape project. Let me start by saying I…read moreneeded assistance with this type of project because I don't know very much about landscaping. I worked with Danielle who was great (only reason for 2 stars). The project consisted of 4 Rhododendron and 5 or 6 Cherry Laurel. Well one of the Rhododendron died and the Cherry Laure were infested with some type of white flying insects to the point of destruction. I called with the hope of resolving the situation and they were very responsive. Danielle acknowledged that the Cherry Laurels are prone to these white flies (maybe would have liked to have known that the first time) and suggested replacing with 2 Viburnum and 4 Cat Mint. Then I find out this replacement project will cost $1350 with no cost to replace the dead Rhododendron. At first I thought the total replacement price was going to be $675 which I thought was reasonable...but that was just the 50% down payment. I was going to back out of the project but did not want to deal with the insect infestation so I reluctantly moved forward. They completed the project and it looks kind of pathetic. They did not remove any weeds that were under the Laurels and they did not re-mulch the area. The plantings are sparse and very underwhelming. I could have done better myself. So after spending $3750 with the company, my suggestion is...do it yourself or shop around.

I was very impressed with the representatives that came to our house for an estimate. However they…read moretold me the owner would need to get in touch about certain aspects of services we needed. The owner never got in touch. I was told in several texts that the owner would be in touch and after three weeks of back and forth texts I was told I would need to call the owner directly to discuss the services. I decided to go no further because if I was having this much difficulty with communications just getting a quote I can only imagine the difficulties in trying to get in touch with something important.

I was getting tired of my house looking drab and my landscaping being the cause. A neighbor of…read moremine switched to Pat Calabrese Landscaping and I liked what I saw, so I gave Alex a call. We made an appointment for him to come out to our house in Wynnewood and look and give me some ideas with an estimate. It may not mean much to some, but he showed up exactly on time! Yes, on time, without a 2 hour window that many companies subject us to. In fact I saw him sitting in his truck out front for a few minutes before he rang the bell. He looked around the house and took copious notes. When he returned he showed me a number of ideas that could really make a difference. My wife and I had some specific ideas as to colors and locations of flowering plants and Alex incorporated them into his plan. He put down stone as a border in a number of places, planted a number of Azaleas and Rhododendrons, he suggested a Crepe Myrtle surrounded by 5 beautiful little accent flowering plants. We had a bit of drainage location problem and he was able to suggest a drainage system that his men implemented making a much more attractive and efficient system. He also included Spring Clean Up and mulching in his plan. He gave us an ala carte proposal that we could pick and choose from. His pricing was very reasonable and his execution of his plan was completed in one day. His men are knowledgable and good technicians and they clean up everything when they are done. I have no hesitation recommending Pat Calabrese & Sons Landscaping with 5 stars out of 5. Alex and his men were a pleasure to work with and I couldn't be happier with the work they did!! I get a new pleasure when I drive up to the house or walk around my back yard. I would give them 6 if I could.

They were on par with everyone else, maybe a little cheaper, but their turn-around time and availability were better. They were also able to re-use some of my stone which brought the cost down a little. They had an entire retaining wall with new steps done in less than a week, and it looks great. When we wanted the walkway put in a year later, we went right back to them. They also honored another local company's offer to plant two memorial trees next to the walkway at no cost, which I very much appreciated. They will continue to be the first place I go to get quotes.
