Then you give him that first check and you don't hear from him for six months until you threaten to sue, then he magically shows up the next day to start the job, which he does terribly. I got several quotes, and Rick was the ONLY roofer who actually took the time to give my entire roof a very close inspection, upon which he pointed out several issues (some of which I had previously noticed, but hadn't yet mentioned). I had a lot of anxiety about the job, due to some other structural issues with my house - but he essentially held my hand throughout the process, and made me feel very comfortable, and well taken care of from start to finish. When I was ready to have the work done, he fit me into his busy schedule, and got the job done in a very timely manner. I really can't recommend him highly enough!

Purchased hardwood flooring from them, didn't look like the store sample when installed and the finish was very different. I was told flooring was very durable, so since it looked different than store sample, I poured red wine on a scrap piece. The red wine stained, and Drew kept telling me it was the same flooring and he was sure I would be happy with it even though I proved that was not true with the red wine. I felt like he was selling me a bag of crap and telling me it was chocolate. Their crew left my house in a shambles during demolition phase. We literally could not walk in our kitchen because of debris stacked a few inches high. I was told they assumed we weren't going to live in our house while they were there. This otherwise reputable painting company was contracted to paint 5 rooms (kitchen, three bathrooms…read moreand a finished basement room), a foyer and a hallway in our house during a renovation. When it was "completed" we noticed that there was (1) no signs of any wall prep/sanding/repair, (2) primer paint visible throughout after they claimed to paint "two coats" of wall color paint and (3) areas of the bathroom with no new primer or paint. They used our hot water heater's emergency tap to clean their paint sprayer, leaving an inch of black dust over the entire heater closet. They left a ladder and several tools behind for 3 months. We did give FTP a chance to fix (or honestly complete) the original two coats during a follow-up walk-through that we requested. The manager was belligerent and irritated by us bringing attention to large swaths of unpainted wall and he consistently denied those areas had not "had two coats applied". Regardless, another painter from their company came some time later and did some trim work that was unfinished and some touch up. But two of the bathrooms remain half finished and will require us to personally re-paint their "professional work". To have a local favorite painter in town treat our local house carelessly hurt a lot. We understand that summer labor shortages sometimes mean hiring less qualified and experienced painters but this was a sub-DIY job and seemed to be an inconvenience. Which would be fine if we were not paying premium painter prices.

The stairs were tricky due to existing structures (old house) but they figured out the best approach and executed it beautifully. PBS handled the permit, the check for gas/water lines, and multiple inspections. All I had to do was make a couple decisions when presented with options, and then sit back and relax. Work proceeded on time, in pretty much all weather--in fact they started the day after a February blizzard, which didn't seem to bother them at all! The team was courteous, helpful, and answered all my questions. When the project finished, clean-up was fast and thorough.
