The therapy was superb. I wish I would have come here 6 months ago when I broke my arm in a car accident . But I went for my leg pain this time My doctor referred me here and the staff is very professional. Dr. Johnson may have a lot of patients in the physical therapy treatment area, but trust me, he has a system that is amazing. 1st. The dr talks to you to find out why you're here without rushing you. Then he tells you the plan, and each person seems to have a job. 2. He sent a lady to do muscle stimulation, and everyone has a pleasant attitude and introduce themselves and say what their going to do. 3. Then, a different lady does an ultrasound, which is some sort of massage with an apparatus. 4. Another lady does massage 5. Another lady does icing. 6. Then, doctor returns ask how that goes and put therapeutic tape on the treated area Next, visit the same but added the lady stretching me. Boy, I could get use of them doing all the work, then she said, "Now it's time to go to room for you. You do some things on your own." I'm like, wait, I like you guys doing it. I came the RJ for treatment with vertigo after confirming with them that do offer treatment for this condition as many other PT groups do not. RJ was prompt, nice and accommodating BUT did not have any real experience in treating my condition. They had me sit in a chair in the middle of a very crowded and over stimulated environment and after a brief discussion came back with some exercises for me. Although I did not feel confident in my treatment, out of desperation I continued for a few additional treatments before I stopped going. I ended up going to a group that actually knew what they were doing and realized some of the exercises from RJ were actually delaying my recovery. Be careful before going to RJ and make sure they have expertise for your condition. Seems like they will take anyone that walks into the door no matter what so they can get as many people billed. read more

I went to this place with a referral from my physician. My appointment was at 10am. I arrived at 9:55am. The receptionist requested the co payment and verified my insurance and ID. She told me to have a sit and I will be called shortly. 40 minutes went by and still nobody had called me. People got there after me and were being called to see the therapist. After 50 minutes of waiting, I requested a refund for my copay and left the office. These people have no respect for other's time! Unbelievable! After sustaining a traumatic injury to my right shoulder in July 2022, and the subsequent surgery early September, it was four long months before I could have physical therapy. My orthopedic surgeon scheduled me to begin sessions at RJ Physical Therapy. Unbeknownst to me, the owner, Dr. Ronnie Johnson is a former colleague whose dedication to his patients and practice remains unsurpassed by many. The doctor assigned to me was a brilliant woman named Dr. Danielle Wortham who honestly and diligently ensured me that I was going to be able to regain full range of motion by the end of my treatments, and encouraged me every step of the way. No one wants to end up at Physical Therapy, but if you find yourself in a situation where you need it, RJ Physical Therapy is an excellent option. I began to go to RJ Physical Therapy to treat my frozen shoulder, and over the course of 3 months made significant progress on my road to recovery, seeing a marked decrease in pain and a significant increase in mobility. The entire staff from the front desk to the physical therapists that guide you through recovery are caring professionals, and really humanize the process of going to a medical office, much more so than I've seen at any other doctors office I've visited in recent years. I want to give a special shout out to the front desk because they make it so easy to check in, and reschedule if needed, and always with a smile. All of the associates are friendly and helpful, and if they see you need help with something they don't hesitate to offer additional assistance. My Physical Therapist Dr. Sean is very knowledgable, and even helped to further identify what my issue was, and has been a vital contributor to helping me over come my injury. This PT office is great !! I could barely walk even with a cane when I first started. I received therapy treatment on first visit and was given a appointment to return in 2 days. When I returned I still had pain in my back and was walking slow. I received treatment and the rubber began to meet the road. Dr Danielle Wortham put me through some body movements that I didn't think I would be able to do. She explained that our body was meant to move and she helped me to understand that I could in fact do things that I couldn't . I have improved greatly and I can walk not using the cane as much . I'm so happy my primary care physician referred me to RJ Physical Therapy. Dr. Wortham has brought me back to life! My issue: I was suffering from serious tech neck and migraine headaches so much that I couldn't work on my computer or sit or drive without experiencing a tremendous amount of pain. I was quickly forming a daily habit of ibuprofen, acetaminophen, and sumatriptan to function. After trying acupuncture and chiropractic care with no results, I called my physician for a referral to a physical therapist. My therapy: Dr. Wortham assessed my neck and posture issues and began electro stimulation and ultrasound therapy during our first meeting. The next sessions included: Graston, laser and hand massages and exercises that I performed in the on-site gym. She prescribed adjustments for sleeping and driving and at-home exercises. The results: Within one week, I felt 75% better. I'm was able to work again. My productivity and positivity increased. Before I went to Dr. Wortham I was beginning to feel like my neck and headache issues were going to be lifelong problems. Now I know I can feel better with proper care by a clinician that is empathetic and knowledgeable and by adhering to her prescribed exercise regiment. This place is a financial nightmare and will blatantly lie to you. I went three times, the secretary each time told me there is no co-pay for my insurance (Blue Shield Gold PPO). The therapy was good, but ultimately my insurance is charging me the co-pay of $30 per visit. They did the same mistake with my brother. They told him initially there is no co-pay, but after the 10th visit wanted to charge him $600. They approached us during the therapy rather than wait until the end. After the incident with my bother, I explicitly asked two secretaries, and they informed me there is no co-pay for me. Also, the diagnosis was incorrect for me. I went in with Piriformis pain, and their diagnosis was to stretch it. Turns out my Piriformis was already stretched, in fact, the overstretching (due to my siting position) was causing my Piriformis to be in a constant pulled form. I went to a different PT who told me to NOT stretch it, and lay flat on the floor for a few days instead of sitting. And voila, pain goin. I also emailed the PT that attended me at RJ about the co-pay and she never answered. I would not recommend this place. This place also have huge signs in the waiting room giving patients a $5 discount if they write a positive Yelp review. Hence all the other positive reviews. read more

I was skeptical that Physical Therapy could help me, partly because the exercises didn't seem very strong to me. But to my surprise within the first six sessions the excruciating pain I was in began to disappear. I'm just amazed how well Physical Therapy Works especially if with me with lower back pain. This used to be a great place and I used to be a strong proponent but it has gone quickly downhill with the coronavirus situation. Hopefully they will recover. Currently, the tiny waiting room gets packed with people with some coughing, very concerning. Definitely not keeping six feet distance between them. Also some very concerning business practices. After a ton of sessions without a single mention of a co-pay (have multiple witnesses), they show up as I'm leaving one day to tell me I owe $560 of past co-pays after some 10+ visits without mentioning it even once. I think this is their MO, get people comfortable coming thinking there's no co-pay and then force them to pay an outrageous bill. Someone else I was with who usually would have to pay a co-pay asked them about his situation right there seeing what they had done to me, and they said to him, "No, you don't have to pay a co-pay." I think this is because he just started going there and they're hoping he accumulates it before charging him. Suggestions: 1/ Go somewhere else - the tiny waiting room is very worrisome and their suspicious business practices create a lot of concern. 2/ If you do, get in writing whether they will charge or not a co-pay 3/ Keep your eyes open for other tricks they may try to play on you Having said that there's a ton of great PTs in LA who have only improved with coronavirus in their attention to patients. Do not be tricked by their past positive ratings, things have radically changed since I started going there and will never go again. Btw, I disputed their made-up debt on May 15th and May 20th in person (with multiple witnesses) and then on writing on May 21st, and now here. I went there for an initial consultation on my shoulder separation. I tried to ask for some exercises to help my issue. The PT Dr hesitated and said she would request authorization. It wasn't until two weeks later that I got to an actual session with treatment and exercises. At the end of the first real session I got kinesio tape. I got this tape and the treatment and exercises the next two sessions. But after that I got no taping, and no new exercises the following sessions. The issue with my shoulder separation have not improved. Since then, I have met my orthopedic specialialist who has not re-prescribed going to this PT. I also want to point out that I went to to my supposed last session ONLY to be told that my previous session was my last approved even though the PT doctor expected to see me again. And the receptionist said that would submit a request to authorize additional sessions and to wait for a call, which I never got. This place is UNPROFESSIONAL read more
