Came here a few times during our stay in Venice. There's another location on the also busy Strada Nova. But this one here was close to our holiday rental. So we always chose this one. They've got a good range of very tasty looking pizze. But we mostly came for dessert. All the classic Italian desserts of course. And lots of more cakes, patisserie and cookies. One that did suprise us was the Tiramisu. Of course, it's well known and it's literally everywhere here. But this one - without a doubt - is the best Tiramisu we've had in a very long time (except for some homemade Tiramisu back home). It's divine here, came back daily to get some more! On the last day we've found out that they sell Salami as well by the whole. Bought two huge Salami for very little money. Perfect to enjoy with some cheese, or as topping for some homemade cicchetti or sandwiches. Great value. It's a really nice shop, this one here. To take away some pizza, to get some desserts - or even some whole Salami sausages. Surely we come back next time. read more

Rizzo has a smart display area against their windows to lure in customers. We saw a long line when passing by the first time so we thought it would be good. We stopped by later on for a Chocolate Cannoli (4€) and a Tiramisu (2,50€). This shop is takeaway, or take-out only, as there are no seatings for sit down. I really appreciated that the staff put the tiramisu into another box so that it would travel safely with us for a 15 minute walk back. Unfortunately, neither of us were impressed by the cannoli or their tiramisu. Sigh. I think we fell for a tourist trap. read more

- Locale Destination - It's conveniently located - on the way to my favorite, 1000 coffee. Lots of small pastries and sandwiches, which is a perfect for munchies. Menu: pastries, sandwiches, cheese Price: It's a bit more expensive for the small size, but you don't want to eat too much either. So it's a good option. Service: bit slow but it's norm here. - Gluttony Expedition - Salmon sandwich: very small but salmon & boiled egg sandwich was a good combo. EU 2.5. This place was pretty close to where we were staying, and their items looked so enticing from their glass display cases that I ended up coming here twice during our time in Venice. They sell most items by the gram, which is not as common in the U.S., but was something I grew to appreciate. I ordered one type of pizza slice the first time I went there, which was loaded with mushrooms, bell peppers, and olives. The second time I went there, I ordered a slice of pizza that had a few different types of mushrooms on them. I thought both tasted quite good, though maybe not the best in all of Italy, if you're going to gauge it on that scale. read more

This is a stylish little bakery with food that looked good through the clean and shiny glass. They have sandwiches, desserts and drinks including beer. BUT It was late, maybe near closing, band I waited patiently for almost 15 minutes and never got served. It was the peak of tourist season and people were being served on the sandwich side. A woman was served in front of me on the dessert side and then the person working went back to cleaning and never served me. Going home was probably more important. I think they should close the doors earlier and let them clean and prepare to leave. They should not leave the doors open and pretend to be open during preparation for leaving. read more

Just had lunch here. We were wandering back to our apartment on a LONG walk from the other end Venice. The sit down places all were either super expensive or reasonable but had menus that said straight "frozen products." So we kept walking because the night before my wife had seen a place that had sandwiches that looked "crazy good!" This is the joint! Our sons (12 & 10) got slices of pizza. They say the slices were average. But that's par for the pizza course in Venice. Pizza here is not so great. My wife and I each got a Ciabatta Vegetarian (eggplant, sweet peppers and mozzarella). The sandwiches were good. But we also got Arancini Originali Sicilian. It appears to me to be Northen Italy's answer to Rome's famous suppli. It's a breaded and fried ball of rice with filling inside. In this case it was filled with peas, meat and cheese. It was outrageously good! We also got 4 slices of cake from the bakery side. The boys got chocolate with orange filling. We got lemon. They were also very good. There is NO SEATING here though. So, we got it all to go then walked 3 minutes to the apartment and had a great lunch. I would recommend this place for lunch. read more

My husband and I only tried the pizza here - on a whim too because we were tired and hungry, but didn't want a full meal. Ordered two slices to go. Despite sitting in their oven for about 5 minutes, the inside of the slices was cold and the cheese was not melted. Additionally, the pizza was just terrible. I've had better frozen pizzas in the US. We each took a bite or two and threw them away. I hate wasting food but I couldn't finish it at all. I cannot speak to anything else they serve, however. read more

These cannolis were the worst we ever had. The chocolate one was basically filled with Nutella. The shell looked more like a cream horn shell. Too sweet and no flavour. We tried one of each kind. Very disappointing. read more

Place was right by our hotel. It was fantastic. The staff was extremely helpful even though we don't speak a word of Italian. We ordered some salami, cheese, bread and wine to bring back to our room for a snack. It was all great. The cheese was tasty and the salami was so fresh and soft. Not chewy at all. Wine ridiculously was $5 a bottle and still tasted good. I also snuck in a piece of mushroom pizza. Honestly, it was the best pizza that I had in Venice, but to be fair I only tried 2 other places. read more
