Busy busy busy...but that's a good thing! I called ahead for a take away pizza. Nothing out of the ordinary (pepperoni and mushroom). I showed up a few minutes early and this place was slamming! Dining room was full and the take away orders were flying off the counter. They should install turnstile type doors! HA! Anyway, pizza came out hot and beautiful. Not sure what the changes were from the previous business (Zoey's?) but whatever the changes were WORKED. Crust was perfect! Red sauce had a little "sweetness" to it. The pepperoni and mushrooms were plentiful. (I like a lot of toppings but not overdone). The staff was awesome. Everyone was hustling to keep their customers happy. We needed a quick dinner after running an errand in nearby Auburn last night. A quick Yelp search brought up Rizza's. I would give them 10 stars if I could! You can order online and customize. I'm always a big fan of that. There was a question about my order. I love that they called me to clarify. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and a chicken bacon ranch. You can choose to have it lightly cooked and well done. We chose neither and it was just right. Both pizzas were hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The Greek-style crust was chewy and flaky. I almost never finish the crust, but I ate this one! The tomato sauce had perfect acidity and seasoning. This will be our go-to place from now on. Honestly some of the best pizza we've ever had. Rizza's is by far the best pizza place around. Went in on an extremely hot and humid day and they were busy. "Karen" in front of me in line complaining about the wait. Felt like telling her to shut up. I didn't feel like cooking and I'm sure Karen did either, but Rizzas did. Cut them a break as they slave in a hot kitchen to cook my dinner. Let's say that the 4th time wasn't the charm. We were disappointed when the prior owner shut down (Zoey's) but were glad to see a replacement. The options are sparse on the east side. We were enouraged by a very good online ordering system, quick delivery, a pleasant driver and, most importantly, quite tasty pizza. The second time the pizza order was completely wrong. Orders had to be mixed up. We ate it anyway as time was an issue. The 3rd time, the logistics were all good. The pizza wasn't. Overcooked it was. A strange combo of a somewhat rubbery crust and a dry pie. The Greek salad was good, though the lettuce was definitely on its last breath. Yesterday... Well, the online system offered a nice surprise $10 coupon. The pizza? Overcooked again (maybe it's just their recipe) and devoid of taste. We skipped the salad & went with chicken tenders that were very good. Fried just right. The batter light & slightly crispy. And, each time the service was quick with very pleasant drivers. Pricing feels on the moderate side. But the pizza? The real reason for the place? Let's say we'll give Rizza's a rest and try an alternative for a month or two. Located near the Massabesic Traffic Circle across from Lakeside Lanes, Rizzas Family Kitchen (former Zoey's Pizza) serves up Greek style pizzas, pizza calzones, salads, subs, wraps, burgers, bowls, apps, gyros, chicken (kabobs, wings, fingers), baklava, and cooler drinks (Pepsi products). The prices here seem fair. I stopped by Rizzas for takeout. I haven't been in this building in several years since it was Zoey's Pizza. The place is order at the counter and there are a few tables and seating along the front windows. There is parking mostly in the back and a wheelchair ramp to the side entrance. I was trying to decide whether or not I should try a specialty pizza or get a calzone since ricotta cheese is a filling choice for additional cost. I decided to try The Village Pizza ($19 plus tax for a large 16"). It was all set in about 12 minutes after I ordered with prompt friendly service. I enjoyed this pizza when I got home. This pizza has oil, garlic, fresh spinach, sausage slices, onion, ricotta cheese, mozzarella/cheddar cheese on top of a firm light Greek style pizza crust. This pizza was very tasty with good flavors, enjoying oily veggies, ricotta cheese and sausage in the same bite. I would definitely order The Village Pizza again, but I will order one of their calzones with ricotta, red sauce, and hamburger. This is definitely my new go-to place that is close to Auburn! I got the crispy chicken salad with lemon vinaigrette. I've never seen that as a dressing option before, so I love that! The chicken was delicious and tasted fresh and like it was hand breaded. The lettuce also looked crisp and fresh. I love how easy the online ordering was and how customizable the options were for the salad. I opted for romaine lettuce and a mozzarella cheese topping. Sweet likeable staff and the food that we ordered in was good- not outstanding but tasty. The folks who ordered for pickup were stacked 7-8 deep on the Friday night we were there at @ 530p. Plan to wait. My major takeaways were that the interior was unforgivably hot and I was actually hurrying to finish my meal so that we could leave the stifling table area. There are only three tables so that may account for the take out backed up orders. Also of note was that the large TV was settled on FOX NewsNow which to me indicated a political idealogy that I won't be spending money on in the future. From the Steak and Cheese to their Pizza, you really can't go wrong. My wife eats GF and loves their GF wraps and cauliflower pizza. But their fries are especially delicious. I ordered a small chicken, pesto and cheese calzone. When I received it, it had other items (veggies) in it as well. I told the server that all I asked for was the three items (in my first sentence). They apologized and said they'll remake it. One of the ladies (manager or owner, not sure) wanted to make it right by offering a salad or an appetizer, to which I appreciate and got cheese sticks. Because of the timing I couldn't eat the calzone and asked for a take home box. When I got home later to eat some of the calzone....it still had veggies (onions only this time). All I asked for was chicken, pesto and cheese calzone. I want to let folks know that when asking for a special made item to make sure the staff heard correctly. Rizza's Pizza is the new spot in town. I liked the look of the signage and their website and ordering platform so I was excited to have a new pizza and sub style takeout joint in the area that showed some promise. We've ordered here a couple times now and I must say the food is much more above the cut than I was expecting. It's still within that realm of takeout food you would expect, but the quality and flavors are just top notch. They're also incredibly kind and helpful. My first order the kind woman on the phone helped me order a custom calzone that ended up being far cheaper than expected. Today we ordered a Greek chicken salad, and they accidentally forgot the chicken. I gave them a call back and with zero hassle they had us come back and grab the chicken plus a couple consolation freebies. That's literally all you have to do to make me a loyal customer for life. Some places will fight you tooth and nail on things like that, but Rizza's made it right with zero kvetching or negotiating. I was too hungry to take pictures today, but we tried the Chicken Bacon Ranch sub as well and it was, bar none, the best sub of that type I've ever had in Manchester and it isn't even close.
