I went with pictures in hand for a haircut. Since one of the co-owners was my stylist I had complete confidence in her. She cut and styled my hair and I bought a couple of hair products to style my hair myself. Unfortunately my hair was not texturized and the layers were not what I was expecting, when I washed and styled my hair it looked chunky and the layers were very heavy always falling in my face. This salon is now called "A Salon". Creative. Not only did they not bother telling me about the new client offer, but they couldn't finish my color (which she called a double process). She then toned it the completely wrong color (mind you this is costing $175). The real kicker was when I called to have it re-toned to the color I asked for the first time, and the rudest little fill-in-the-blank ever at the front desk said "we can re-tone you at our next available appointment in 2 weeks". That's their customer service. I've gotten my hair done for a longggg time. This is the WORST Aveda concept salon I've ever been to. Don't waste your $$$$, especially in this economy. read more

I've been going here for a few years. My stylists was Kenzie. I absolutely loved her. I recommended her and the salon to everyone who asked me about my hair. Today, I would NOT recommend this salon to anyone. Kenzie moved and I started with another girl. She did a good job but then she left and I was put with another new one. She ruined my hair. She fried my hair. It wouldn't do anything. It felt like straw. I tried curling it and it wouldn't hold a curl. My hair was to the middle of my back and now sits right on top of my shoulders. That's how much I had to have cut off. I paid a lot of money and I wanted to go back but with Kenzi, her sister and a couple other girls leaving that maybe that was a sign. Spent nearly three hundred dollars on my hair to get more blonde in it and take the blonde up farther into my roots up. My hair was a little dead so I scheduled with a "Level 6" to ensure it would be done correctly. Almost $300 later and it was not done correctly. I have nothing my orange on my roots and the rest of the blonde is yellow because it wasn't toned correctly. After expressing that I just started a new job and my work schedule was busy, they didn't try to work with my schedule and they told me they couldn't get me in after 2 weeks cause the "color starts the set in" sounds like they just didn't want to deal with it. Now my hair is the wrong color and a complete mess. I wouldn't recommend them to touch the hair or my worst enemy. read more

I had my first cut and color a couple of weeks ago with Emily. This was my first appointment with this salon. Emily was sooooo good. She took the time to ask what I was looking for. She did that throughout the haircut. I am 71 and still wear my hair the same and a layered look and she cut my hair perfect. The salon is very aware of COVID procedures. Now "A Salon". I have never had such a terrible experience. I had highlights from a new stylist that was trained by Paul Mitchell. Nothing wrong with Paul Mitchell, but this is an AVEDA salon! When I went out in the sun my highlights were bozo the clown orange! I told the salon owner that I couldn't go to work like this. They did take care of it the next day. I had tipped the first "stylist" and then had to tip the second because they wouldn't refund. I went back to the owner Anastasia for a trim and modified curtain bangs. She completely messed up my hair. I went to another stylist to fix and she had no idea what Anastasia did. It's going to take a year to grow out. This is not a simple fix. Not to mention that their desk staff is RUDE. Since the other owner left this salon has never been the same. And what does it say for an Aveda salon that hires stylist trained at Paul Mitchell. My best suggestion is to never give this half rate salon a chance. I wrote an amazing first review then this happened. I had an appt schedule for two months out and had to cancel but yet this girl who took my call was my smart enough t o just reschedule. She needed to get a hold of stylist. Then she blew me off and didn't call. Call 2 same thing she actually dissed t he first girl saying she was new and shed call and didn't. Then third call the mgs was rude and hung up on me. I've never had my hair dyed by them before, but they cut and style my hair wonderfully! If you're looking to get a beautiful cut, I highly suggest them. I had never been to Rize salon before, but I live in Brighton and wanted a last minute blowout. I'm 9 months pregnant, overdue, getting ready to be induced so I really wanted my hair to be shampooed and styled before I went in (I also didn't want to have to do it myself, since it's so hard with this big belly) I don't want to give the name of the stylist because I don't want her to lose any business; however, I feel like I wasted my money doing this. She was far more concerned about getting me to buy Aveda products that ACTUALLY doing a good blowout. I told her I wanted some volume and large curls with a round brush. My hair went flat about 5 minutes after leaving the appointment. There are NO curls in my hair at all, looks more like it has been straightened. This is definitely something I couldve done at home, and saved the $20 + $5 for tip, especially since we are on a new baby budget. I will not be back! read more

Prices are half what I pay my stylist and I left with a great cut from Carla & immediately booked an appointment for my daughter with her. This is also much closer to home. I called the Rize for my significant other, she had extensions put in her hair. She has beautiful black hair. These extensions where cheap, and felt like plastic! They started to fall out taking her hair with it!! She paid this place very well!! She went to her hair stylist in Denver that gave her great extensions! they felt soft, and real!! Her hair stylist from Denver, told her she could not believe that the Rize charged her what they did, not only for the bad extensions, but also for the bad service!! She had never heard of the amount my girlfriend was charged just to have them put in. Then to add salt to injury, when we tried to give this place the chance to make it right they hung up her and I both!! The only reason this place is still up and running is by this type of service, taking your money, knowing they are doing a horrible job!! read more

I was in desperate need of a hair fix. My previous cut had grown out and I had no idea what the solution was to make it even manageable. I called in for an appointment which was scheduled that evening (yay) the cut and style took less than an hour which is a huge improvement from my experiences in the past. I saw Jordin (spelling?) and she was great! She is considered a level one stylist so the price of the haircut was a bargain. I would have paid more! Conversation was easy and she listened to my hair related woes and offered solutions. The cut is great and she styled it so lovely I didn't feel the need to rush home and change it. She offered product suggestions, some I took and others I didn't. I waited to write this review until I had a chance to fix my hair myself and it turned out just as great and the products were great. read more

Was a new customer and was booked with Sue to get a hair cut, she was super nice and listened to what I wanted. I did have to come back to get a little bit shorter, not her fault at all, wasn't sure how short I wanted it. I came back and she cut it again no questions asked and didn't charge me for it. Desiree is awesome. I saw her quite a while ago when I was in my awkward stage of my pixie cut growing out (somewhere between a bob and a pixie), and she did well with that cut. She did another cut that I liked as well. I then went a few months and tried to just let my hair grow, got a really crappy cheap $10 trim at cost cutters, let that grow more, and finally called rize again. Once again, Desiree was great. She really took her time listening to what I wanted (yes, I was picky) and talking with me about the cut. She did a great job with the cut, and I am kicking myself for not seeing her sooner. Sadly, after many good experiences at Rize I will not be returning. My blonde highlights turned BLUE after my stylist used Aveda Blue Melva conditioner. I wasn't thrilled about this, obviously, but had they fixed it in a timely/courteous fashion or refunded my money I would have been fine. I get that mistakes happen but I believe that if you can't give someone what they paid for, you should apologize and return their money. My hair wasn't blue upon leaving but turned blue after I washed and dried it at home the next day. When I called to speak to my stylist about this, my phone call was not returned. I called back much later and spoke with the owner. I told her that I needed to come in after 6 pm (b/c I stay home with my two year old) and that I needed to take care of this in the next two days since I had a major medical procedure at the end of the week. She told me that they could only get me in between 12:30 and 2 the next day or I could come pick up some detoxifying shampoo and do it myself (apparently this conditioner does that to her hair too so I'm not really sure why they use it). Not very accommodating but I was still hoping this would be an easy fix and didn't know what else to do so I picked up the shampoo, left it on for an hour, and still had blue hair. I repeated this three times and at this point was really starting to wonder why I paid to get my hair done only to spend 3 hours attempting to correct it myself. Needless to say I was mad and sick of wasting my time with them so I made an appointment to go elsewhere to get it fixed that evening. I don't like the idea of paying twice for the same service so I called Rize back to give them the opportunity to make this right and refund my money. When I called to speak to the owner, she acted shocked that I was so upset. She told me it was against their policy to refund and that she would have had time last night to fix it or they had more openings today. WEIRD! That's what I had asked for when I originally called, and I was told they couldn't do an evening and that's why I had messed with the shampoo in the first place. In the end, no reimbursement was issued and no apology other than "I'm sorry you feel that way." was ever issued. How's that for customer service?! read more

First off, I'm male and lost my hair 18 years ago, so I have no idea what I'm talking about. My 6 year old needed her hair cut for about the 3rd or 4th time in her life, so we figured we'd check this place out. We called and they were booked for the weekend, so I thought it was a bust. She then mentioned that it was looking like there was gonna be a no-show, and 15 minutes later we had an appointment for the same afternoon. Drove over, got my girl settled in with the haircut girl, discussed the hair cut to be (I just nodded some) and wandered around a bit. I located a $115 bottle of shampoo on a shelf. Shampoo. Mine costs like $3.50. I panicked, figuring I'd just settled my baby into a $75 trim or something, and sat on a bench and stared at the floor. The girl doing the cut (forgot her name) was great and talked to my little girl about girl stuff and checked in with me on the hair cut (I nodded some more). After a wash, a cut, and a double super complicated braid, the price was so reasonable I think I may have come off a bit dumb when I repeated it. Tomorrow we find out if mama likes the cut, but I'm sure happy with it. I gave $$ because everyone else did, and I have no idea. read more

I have been going to rize salon now for awhile and have always been completely satisfied and loved the outcome of my style. This most recent time i was not happy and went home and called to express that i did not like how it turned out. I was told that I could come back in and have it fixed and then after my stylist spoke to her boss, I was sent a message through my stylist (instead of getting a call directly from her, which i was told i would be receiving) that the dislike of my hair style "was a change in mind" and basically not their problem. I'm sorry but when you own a business, your number one priority should be keeping your customers happy. I am extremely disappointed in her lack of regard for their customers feelings and will no longer be a client. read more

Incredibly satisfied with the haircut Cassie gave me. I brought in a photo of what I wanted and she took the time to really look at the photo and discuss with me what I wanted. My hair came out great. The rest of the staff was very professional and accommodating. My only suggestion would be to take it easy on asking for product sales. I was asked 4 times if I wanted to purchase any products before I left. I understand sales are important, but saying "no" 4 times is a little too much for me personally. Other than that. Do not recommend terrible customer service and high turnover. Pass on this place. Had appointments set for 3 months out and the girl that did my hair found a new job and just left no notice at all. I have a simple condition treatment and blow dry every other week.(2 times a month) today they say it will be an additional 22 dollars because they can't blow it dry in less than hour. This salon is horrible. I went to get hair extensions placed with the understanding that my hairdresser knew how to place them. A week after I had them placed, more than half of them fell out with just washing my hair. I called that same day and the salon could not accommodate me to have them put back in until the following week. After careful thought, I was not feeling good about this salon to go back. I called my previous stylist and she was able to get me in within two days. I brought the extensions that fell out and the ones remaining were hanging by a hair. She commented that the hair was less than acceptable and it was cheap hair. I spent over 400.00 on the hair and then 100.00 to have it placed. She could not believe how the remaining hair was placed and the hair that fell out had so much of my hair attached. Ruined my hair! I had extensions for years and never lost my own hair. It came out in bunches in the sink where she washed my hair as well. I only chose this salon because it was very convenient after I relocated to Brighton from Denver. The owner was very disrespectful when I called and went over there to get my money back. I had all the extensions with me. She even hung up on my significant other when she tried to talk with her. I would never recommend this salon to anyone. Incompetent stylists and rude owners. I attempted several times to reach the owners with no results.
