It was 95 degrees outside, 4:30 in the afternoon (no garages open), and we were 600 miles from home in the middle of "nowhere" to us. Our insurance company's roadside assistance tried to dispatch a tow truck and we were told it would be 2 hours before they arrived. So we started calling local garages, which of course usually aren't open on Saturday's. Allen answered the phone, despite the fact that Thompson's is closed on Saturdays, and offered to drive over to the gas station where we were lucky enough to have been able to steer the car into. Right away, he noticed that our drive belt had broken into pieces because the Toyota dealership in Virginia who had installed it just the week before had installed it incorrectly. He went back to the shop, got a new belt, came back within 20 minutes, and had us up and running in no time. This was such a blessing to us. We were facing having to stay two nights in an unfamiliar town after spending a week in Clearwater, because garages wouldn't be open again until Monday. We just wanted to get home. Our car was packed to the brim with luggage and if we had been able to find a rental car, it might not have even fit. We were up against a wall with no direction to turn, and Allen literally saved the day for us. We could not be more grateful. Thank you so much, Allen!!

Don't sit their and say it's going to be hours. Awful.

I have known about Star Import for a while now, and have used them before for some A/C work…read more This time around, my A/C was definitely out, a year after it had been serviced for the A/C coolant escaping. When I had that service a year ago, we had placed a tracer dye in the system so that we could (hopefully) figure out where the leak actually came from. This time around, we found it, or at least we think it has been found. Turned out to be a couple of seals that had probably gone bad, so they were serviced when I brought the car in. It took them about three hours to perform the entire process, from diagnosis to completion of service. The shop is a Mercedes specialist, and they know the cars well. The prices are right, and the customer service is good. So long as I own a Mercedes, this will be the place it goes to for work.

I went to this place today to have a tire changed onto a rim. One of my tires (front passenger)…read morewent flat at a family gathering. I patched it and drove home, but it still continued to leak. I went by this place the next day. I have 20" x10" Moto Metal rims with 37x13.50 Toyo mud tires. I had an old Toyo tire from the last time I got new tires. I wanted to have one of the old Toyo tires put on the rim to get me through till next payday when I could order some new tires. This place was not able to change the tire. They were able to gouge the rim up pretty good, though. Bill would not even apologize about the gouges, but instead told me that he had not looked at the rim so he could not say whether the gouges were there before. I have three other rims that have not one scratch on them. Also, where the clamps hold the tire there are big gouges along the bead. Bill would not take responsibility for them, either. If this place can mess up a tire change that badly, you should avoid them with anything more intricate. I did end up taking the rim and tire to KC's Auto repair. Knocked it out without any hassle. From now on, that is where I will go if I need some repair work done.

Although I am not happy with the time it took to purchase either car, after buying other cars from other dealerships, I see that it is the norm to take as long as it did, because of the paperwork involved to finance a vehicle. My wife and I went in and after making an informed decision (me on the car, and her on the money side) received a good deal on a 2025 Toyota Corolla. On a side note, the first car they sold my wife and I in October 2023, had about 367,000 miles on it when it got detroued by a deer. So, I hope the new one lasts just as long.
