I can't rate them high enough. I went in for a trial/ color match spray tan in preparation for my wedding this winter. Not only was I a last minute drop in, Anthony was SO kind and took the time to understand what look I was going for and what "color" undertone I wanted. (Olive, pink, etc) He absolutely nailed it. I went in with an appointment for one of the tanning beds, which I was told when I arrived that it wasn't working and probably won't ever be fixed because it's an old bed. Another bed was recommended to me and so I spent time in there and now have stripes of red on my back. Extremely disappointed and will never go back. read more

I really hate to have to leave such a low review as I found the people at the counter to be super friendly and helpful. However, the spray tan I received was so uneven and blotchy that I had to exfoliate it off within days. I have had spray tans done before so I am familiar with how to prep before going in. On this particular day, I was in need of a last minute spray tan and my regular place was already closed. Riviera was open and willing to get me in. Spray tans are not cheap so after paying for the service plus a generous tip I found myself very very unhappy with the results. UPDATE: Since I do not have a way of replying to the spa owner's response, I will post my response here. As I mentioned in my original post, I am not new to spray tans and DID in fact shower and exfoliate prior to coming into their salon. There was no refund given to me despite what the owner is claiming below nor did I request for one. My post is simply to share my experience. Last weekend I was forced to accompany my girlfriend to Riviera Tanning Salon after a short jaunt at Green Hills Mall (the salon is right near by). As I walked in, I was taken aback at how nice it was in side. The floors are marble and there is a lot of dark wood every where on the walls. The lady at the counter was very nice and showed her back into the room where her spray tan was going to take place. They have an array of different kinds of machines. They offer stand up, lay down, and a spray tan facility. I was happy the waiting room was stocked with a variety of magazines (mostly fitness magazines). I was a bit overwhelmed by the smell inside, it smelled like lotion and burnt flesh! read more

For a few years I chose to embrace my milky-white skin due to not being able to find a salon (or brand of spray tan) that didn't turn me a shade of burnt orange. Riviera uses Norvell and EVLOV, and both are great. I initially chose this spa for my occasional spray tans due to its close proximity to my house. I mean, who wants to drive across town covered in spray tan funk? Not me. Willow and Anthony are the BEST!!! Get your tan here ABSOLUTELY!! Riviera is on the second floor of the plaza, there's stairs and an elevator! Their door is always open- literally! Make an appointment via their website or walk ins are welcome too. I love the custom airbrush spray tan- It comes out perfect EVERY TIME!!!!!! No weird splotching(I've heard some nightmare stories from some other places) because Willow is personally looking at the tan as it's going on making sure it's even and looks the way you like it! They have two different solutions as well, one where you can take a shower in 1-3 hours and a more classic one that you can shower in 6-8 hours. I've had good luck with both, but when I have the time I choose the 6-8 hour solution (meaning it takes 6-8 hours for the color to dry/ develop) because I feel like it lasts like one/ two days longer! There are also tanning beds as well! I have had SEVERAL spray tans here and it's always SUPER chill. It's also very reasonably priced for the quality of the tans and the service in my opinion. One time it was raining when my session was over (only takes like 15 minutes total from walking in to leaving BTW) and Willow offered to walk me down to my car with her umbrella so as to not mess the tan up! She's great and so is the owner, Anthony! Seriously, go get your tan there and get it now! read more

YALLLLLLL. I cannot rave enough about Riviera Tan. I'm an avid spray tanner and let me tell you, I was not disappointed. From the moment I contacted the salon to the moment I left, was nothing short of professional, courteous and exceptional. It started with one of my girlfriends telling me about this guy who does these spray tans in green hills. I was hesitant at first just because it was a male doing it and I never wear anything while getting sprayed. But I trusted my friend and made an appointment. Anthony greeted me at the door and explained the process for me. Answered all my questions and offered everything from a pony tail holder, makeup wipe, disposable underwear and disposable robe (for afterwards). *Side note, the entire salon was clean. You can tell that is not a category they lack in :)* Once the spray started Anthony was meticulous, and very aesthetic in his spray. He sprays to create natural shadows were the body contours. They spray was flawless. (And I know it's just the bronzer the first 8 hours but still, it looked great). After the spray he offered the disposable robe and anything else I needed. I did not feel rushed, pressured or uncomfortable in any way. The next morning I woke up and took a shower to see what the end result would be. *another side note, I had a photoshoot this particular morning so I was very worried about my hands and feet being blotchy*. Nope. Not a single blotch. I literally had my boyfriend look my body over to try and find one. Nothing. I couldn't believe it. It looked so natural. Highly recommend!! I'm far from experienced when it comes to tanning salons, but have done a few sessions at different ones around Nashville without wanting to commit to a membership or monthly-based payment. Given that, this was by far the best experience I've had. They have a great selection of beds, and the facilities were clean and well cared for. What set Riviera apart was how personal it was. I was lucky to be there with the owner, who talked me through all the different options to figure out what was best for me. I also didn't get the feeling that I've had at some other chain tanning places that I was being gouged, or led into buying the most expensive option or unnecessary add-ons, which made the experience so much more positive for me. Whether you're looking for a shot of color before vacation or more regular tanning, I HIGHLY recommend Riviera Tan Spa. Went for a spray tan here today. Tara did a great job at explaining the colors and a great job of spraying. I'm very happy and I will go back, however next time I will stay in the room a little longer before I get dressed. I have some funky marks where my bra is. I think it would be a great idea if they had a fan in the room to dry you rather than a small hand held blow dryer. Lesson learned but next time I will definitely stay in the room for awhile read more

My first experience at Riviera Tan Spa was phenomenal- the individual working answered all of my questions and got me set up with the right package to get me ready for my vacation. Unfortunately, each subsequent experience has been an extreme disappointment. My second visit, the employee was 20 minutes late to open and realized she grabbed the wrong set of keys upon leaving her home, which resulted in another 25 minute wait while her husband retrieved the keys from home. I left and did not wait out the 45 min wait time. My third visit, the manager was 15 minutes late but went above and beyond to make up for the two prior experiences by crediting my account and giving me a discount on tanning lotion and free eyewear. My fourth visit, I came into the location at 3:44pm to use their 10min stand up booth. I was told that they don't run the machines after 3:45pm since they don't get paid any overtime, so I wouldn't be able to tan. I appreciate the manager's generosity in crediting my account on my third visit, but am very disappointed with the rollercoaster ride of inconsistency that has been my experience at Riviera Tan Spa. read more

They refuse to honor a gifted Groupon month pass because I had previously used one I had bought for myself. I understand the 1 per customer, but this was gifted to me...how was she suppose to know I had already bought one thru groupon! I recommended several people to Rivera and everyone of them bought a pass! I won't spend another dollar or recommend not one more person!!! So I'm new to the area and decided to try out Riviera because it advertised a $20 spray tan on their website. I am a frequent spray tanner and thought it sounded like a good deal. Worst spray tan I've ever had, I came out looking like a diseased Mickey Mouse... not cool. And to make things even better, when I went to check out the owner charged me $45 for the spray tan!! Absolutely LOVE this place! It's my go-to place for tanning when I have a special event coming up. I literally just walked in and they worked me in Most shops you have to make an appointment, with my busy schedule always changing it's hard to do that. Spray tan was great in and out in 15 min! I've used their beds before too and the Saturn stand up is awesome, it gave me some color but I didnt burn. It has the Filtered light And Ultrabronze! I have very pale skin and strawberry legs so airbrush tans are super touchy for me and the dots show easily on my legs. they use norvell and this was legit the best airbrush I have ever received.
