Special thanks to the folks here for helping us with directions…read more.. This shopping center in Blue Ridge, GA is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and is a frequent stop for tourists like myself on their way up to either Tennessee (The state line is about -ish miles away) and it's also popular with the locals. The location is super convenient to all things for a Blue Ridge Tourist. Two miles north its the famed Mercier Orchard when you can pick your own apples and buy their famous fried apple pie https://g.page/mercierorchards?share Go 1 mile south and you can hit downtown Blue Ridge where all the restaurants and gift shops are located including the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway https://g.page/mercierorchards?share The shopping center itself looks newer an is well maintained with no potholes and bright lighting. Tanger Outlets Commerce - Where Reviewers Are Many, But Enforcement Is... Selective…read more As someone who reviews shopping centers often--on both Yelp and Google--I've come to expect a certain level of consistency, especially from a well-established outlet brand like Tanger. Usually, sharing photos and feedback is welcomed. Encouraged, even. At Tanger Locust Grove, I posted a review with photos and was personally thanked by the owner. But at Tanger Commerce, I discovered something quite different. While taking a few standard photos during my visit (like I've done at dozens of malls - some with almost 100k views), I was approached by a security guard, followed from across the complex from Nike to Marshall's, photographed, and informed that photography is prohibited unless I had a press or media pass. When I identified myself as a reviewer, hoping for some clarity or even conversation, I was met with suspicion and stone-faced enforcement. My boss makes me enforce this rule I was told - leaving me wondering who his boss is, as from the owners replies to other posts it clearly isn't them. Here's where it really gets confusing: a multitude of other reviewers--on both Yelp and Google--have uploaded photos of storefronts, interiors, signage, merchandise, and even selfies at this very location. Entire photo carousels exist, ranging from fashion displays to food court visits, without a whisper of consequence. One reviewer even uploaded 14 photos on Google and was publicly thanked by management for their "great review" and "wonderful experience." only a month ago. So I ask: if photos are truly not allowed here, why is enforcement only aimed at some of us? Why the inconsistency? And more importantly--where are the signs? None were visible. No policy posted. Just a sudden switch from shopping to being surveilled. Reviewers, take note: If you're documenting your experience, know that Commerce enforces its "rules" selectively. You may be ignored like the 50 reviewers before you--or you may get followed, photographed, and reminded you're not welcome to record your visit. P.S. - I'm not being paid for my reviews, nor do I have anything to gain from this. I just enjoy helping people find great places to spend their time and hard-earned money. But this place? This wasn't it and recommend it I do not.

From what I understand Blue Ridge is a part of what is known as the greater Appalachian Mountain Range that spans from Georgia all the way up the coast to Pennsylvania... From Atlanta it's about 250 miles on up here if you live in the downtown area. It's a popular tourist area with rental cabins and loads of gift shops. I've been coming up here since I was kid. It's a popular destination in the fall for bus load of kids from school or various youth groups to come up here to visit the apple orchards. They also have lots of fall activities such as hay rides, pumpkin patch, corn maze and of course bonfire and ghost stories!) It's a lot of fun to get out here away from all high tech activities and just enjoy the fresh air and talk to the locals. The area is known for good fudge, coffee and BBQ. Everywhere you go there is a BBQ place and all the shop owners are super approachable and friendly to tourists because most of the people that come in are tourists.... If you're in town for a few hours definitely try these shops 1. Three Sister Fudge https://www.3sistersfudge.com/ 2. Blue Ridge Olive Oil Company https://www.blueridgeoliveoil.com/ 3. Mercier Orchards (make sure you try their fried apple pie) https://www.mercier-orchards.com/ 4. Canoe (handcrafted jewelry, bags, and accessories made in Blue Ridge, GA https://www.blueridgemountains.com/directory/canoe-jewelry-gifts/ ) 5. Huck's General Store (all things old fashioned and low tech https://www.blueridgemountains.com/directory/hucks-general-store/ ) 6. Das Kaffe Haus (they are famous all over North Georgia for a good, consistent memorable cup of joe. High quality and no snobbery) https://www.escapetoblueridge.com/blog/das-kaffee-haus/ There are plenty of free parking and paid parking for about $5 a pop. Even though it can get super crowded on the weekends, I've never not found a parking spot...btw google isn't really helpful for finding public parking in this area of the state. Most of their photos are really old and do not reflect the renovations and the major face-lift the city has undergone in the past 10 years....try Tripadvisor or Facebook for more recent photos...
