Riverwalk Outlets is... okay. It's a convenient stop if you're already downtown and want some shopping with a view of the river, but it's not really a destination outlet mall. The location is the biggest plus, right along the Mississippi with easy access from the French Quarter and Warehouse District. Walking along the river after shopping is definitely the highlight. The store selection is hit or miss. There are a few recognizable brands and some decent deals if you're patient, but overall the variety is limited compared to larger outlet centers. Some spaces feel underutilized, and it can feel a bit quiet at times. It's somewhat clean and easy to navigate, which makes it a comfortable break from the New Orleans heat. That said, unless you're nearby or killing time, it's not something I'd go out of my way for. read more

This Outlet started out as The Riverwalk Market Place in Aug. 1986 then change to The Outlet Collection at Riverwalk, this is a three stories mall sit on the banks of the Mississippi River. This is a really great place to shop, there are over 75 eateries restaurants and retail stores here, there is a Cafe Du Mundo even here too. The Red cable car, plus the Hop on and off tour bus make stops a few steps from the entrance. This is also a wonderful place to just cool off from NOLA hot and Humidity weather plus people watch. read more

I was in desperate need of a few clothing items and was recommended by everyone I asked, to check out the Riverwalk. This was totes for men, women and kids, Food court, novelty shops the right call. Walking distance from my hotel, I was thrilled to see the stores I needed were all in one place. It's 3 floors of shopping for just about everyone with Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom Rack and Coach. There is a food court with inside and outside dining next to the river. There is a walkway and escalator to the convention center. I have been to Riverwalk outlet several when I visited the New Orleans. The Riverwalk is easy to get to. Just take the canal street car to the casino station to connect to the Riverwalk. Then walk westward to end of Riverwalk and go north to WWII museum and museum of art. Then take the Charles street car get back. The Riverwalk has many specialty stores in it. Food court is toward the west end. There is a cafe du mon there. And they are not too busy. There are many spice stores. I can get the Louisiana blacken spice here. The visit may take an hour to complete. It is a mall next to cruise ship terminal. read more

I always pass this place during my morning runs and finally decided to stop in. Wow! I couldn't believe how big it is. Located on the Mississippi River, this three-story outlet mall features over 75 eateries and shops. If you're looking for a place to escape the heat or the rain - this is the spot. If you have some time to kill and don't want to drink all day, the Riverwalk Outlets is a good option for shopping and grabbing a snack. It also serves as a Cruise Port so it may get busy at times. There are lots of different shops and a pretty nice Nordstrom Rack at the South end of the structure. There's also a food court with some decent options (Raising Cane's) and various stores throughout. If you're from out of town, you probably have similar stores closer to you, so I'd recommend visiting many of the shops throughout the town. This option works if the weather isn't so great or if you don't like smelling pee in the streets of the French Quarter. read more

So, as Outlet malls go, this was one was not bad. It wasn't great but I did get a great deal though at the Coach Outlet. I found a Men's hoodie priced at about 400 bucks and bought it on sale for just under 150 bucks. I was once again surprised that I have never seen a coach hoodie, and I have been to and lived in places like Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Detroit, Los Angeles, and everywhere in between. The riverwalk itself has a magnificent view but the water is very dirty and the day we visited it was a little overcast so that dampened things a bit. I do recommend though if you are in New Orleans to walk along the riverwalk and check out the outlets. Also be advised this serves as the cruise ship port for the city of New Orleans. This was my first time in New Orleans and we found this Riverwalk as we were leaving on our cruise via Norwegian cruise line. This mall was a lot better than the mall we had found by Caesars Palace, which was rather aristocratic style mall with Louis Vuitton and Prada! Lol. This mall seemed more modern and had regular stores that everybody could shop in. They also had a food court, but all the food was basic mall food so I didn't want to eat anything there instead I just got a passionfruit green tea and that was sufficient for me. I wouldn't mind coming back to the mall again and checking out all their deals. read more

We saw advertising for food trucks or a food truck event so we decided to come by to check it out. We found out we were lied to! There was no food truck event at all! So we had some time to kill and decided to check this outlet out. It seems like a mall vs the larger outlets with a lot of outlet brands and clearances. The building being on the waterfront is beautiful though. You could walk outside if you are bored of the stores in the mall/outlets. It was a pretty long week here and I made use of a massage chair in the middle of the mall. I don't recall any stores I'd go out of my way to check out. There are a bunch of different NOLA souvenir shops here so if you want to get some gifts for friends and family, this isn't a bad stop as it's a little different from the things you find on Bourbon street. read more

Whenever I see the words "outlet stores" I immediately think of the bargain buys I can possibly score! But I was a little disappointed. It's nothing more than a regular mall with the common mall stores. I honestly didn't find any good sales to feel like I scored anything. But Big Bro and I walked through primarily to walk off all the food we ate at Drago's across the street. We didn't leave empty handed, but there wasn't a lot interesting enough to catch my attention. It's nothing more than a place to kill time. One thing I liked? They bathrooms were clean. At least they were during my visit. It was kind cool, too, watching staff update all the potted plants to poinsettias and start bringin' in that Christmas vibe. Nothing to call home about, but a good stop, nonetheless. read more

The mall/outlet was average. I like that it was spacious, bright and clean. There were three levels and some stores had quite a bit of space between them. I was used to seeing stores such as Gap, Guess, Coach, and Nordstrom rack but there were some possibly catered to this area. Copper Bamboo and Kay and Co were new for me. The mall was not crowded but it could be due to people doing more online shopping. I know I'm not one for standing in lines and had it not been for me visiting New Orleans, I may not have been here. Bad experience first the most obvious thing that made us leave quickly was the obvious smell of sewage throughout the building it was extremely strong and putrid. Also the over all cleanliness of the building was terrible I felt sorry for the bottom of my shoes while quickly finding an exit to leave. I'm surprised the Tennants are not complaining of the smells and general house keeping especially the food vendors yuck!! read more

Not a fan of the outlet mall taking over what was once a nice local mall filled with a variety of shops. It used to be a must stop and now is a must miss. Do you really need to shop at an outlet store in New Orleans when they are available back home? They forced out the local shops. I have local cookbooks purchased from a cooking store on the upper level - now gone. Jewelry purchased from a cart - no longer there. Mardi Gras supplies from a big store on the upper level - gone too. At least they still have the fudge shop. read more

If you want to shop at expensive stores, then this is the place for you. I did enjoy the Mardi Gras store at least. Most of the stores and booths at Riverwalk Outlet Mall were great. We met kind, helpful people and had a good experience everywhere else--except at Lavelier. The employees at Lavelier, both at the main store and the kiosk near the hotel side, were shockingly aggressive. My family and I were harassed multiple times by different staff members who stood in the walkway yelling at us, trying to lure us in, and even following us after we clearly said no. My wife and daughters were also targeted, repeatedly, despite turning them down firmly. After the second incident, I reported it to both the mall information desk and a security guard. But nothing changed. Two more times we were approached and pressured by new staff as if we had never complained at all. It was uncomfortable, exhausting, and unacceptable. Every other shop treated us with basic respect and professionalism. But the behavior at Lavelier was so disruptive and relentless that it made us question ever returning to this mall. One store should not be allowed to ruin the experience for everyone else, yet that is exactly what is happening here. Until this issue is addressed, we will be taking our time and business elsewhere. read more

I'm not a big outlet shopper. I really do not think they offer the best prices. I've been in Riverwalk Outlets a few times. At one visit, they had a Wilson's Leather store and I was shopping for a leather jacket. I visited a couple of times because I found a jacket I liked, and then just tried various sizes on to figure out what size I needed and ended up ordering it online from Wilson's when it went on sale. I got a glass of wine at River Bar Cocktails to Go, and a couple of pralines to bring home to Mom. Outside the mall at the Riverwalk is nice! It has lovely views of the river, outdoor dining, benches, and interesting statues and landscaping. read more

Unimpressed New Orleans couldn't be missing the mark on the Riverwalk more than this strip of cement and windowless shops. I was really expecting something more but it is just a long indoor group of shops with no atmosphere or connection to the river. If you are imagining somewhere that you could shop and eat along the river with a nice view, this is not the place. What you will get is a bunch of desperate kiosk workers in the middle of the shopping strip that will harass you to try their lotions and potions. It's terrible. The selection of stores is not anything that was appealing. I can't say much for the prices/value of the merchandise because I didn't get that far in my shopping experience. read more

We were looking to pass the time and decided to stop by these outlet shops since we were in the area. This outlet mall is located along the Mississippi River waterfront just south of the Audubon Aquarium and Woldenberg Park. It's the other shopping mall on Canal Street with the other one being Canal Place, although the stores here are not as high-end. South of the mall is the food court with floor-to-ceiling views of the river which make for a nice view during your meal. Other than that, this is just a typical shopping mall. read more

If you go the riverwalk outlets you have to go to eye origin! My son has always wanted the eye photo and we're so glad we waited to purchase it here! The owner was so nice and allowed us to try it with no stipulation to purchase. We then decided to buy one and not only did he not pressure us to get a more expensive piece he was honest and beyond helpful. The photo looks amazing and my son loves the digital file too. I would highly recommend eye origin riverwalk to locals and tourists alike. read more

I was slightly let down by my experience here. When I did some research and discovered this mall-- it appeared they had certain stores, but when I arrived, I noticed they were not even there. Also, we were told by security their own directory had not been corrected in months, and a few of the stores were not actually there anymore. I would not say this is a high end mall, by any stretch, but they did have a few stores that I liked. While I wasn't pleased with the retail stores that the mall had, they did have a Fat Tuesdays and Cafe Du Monde. I arrived relatively early and the mall was mostly quiet and empty, which was slight surprising. The views of the boats and the water are a nice sight-- that just might be where the fun ends though. I would say it's worth a visit, especially if you're night from there--just don't have the highest expectations. read more

Riverwalk is a gorgeous mall, that has lots of branded and local store, including a Cafe Du Monde. The local stores have lots of cool and neat items, sold at a decent price. Usually the mall is not very busy. There are plenty of common area to sit and chill. Restrooms are available for public use. read more

The Outlet Collection at Riverwalk is a long outlet mall with several different levels. The mall is inside like a regular mall. We spent about and hour or two inside. We grabbed drinks and enjoyed their food court. There is a nice big window in the food court that allows you to look out on the river. They were doing some construction inside and the elevator and stairs situation was a little odd at times. If you like to shop you will definitely find a store or two that peaks your interest. This mall is great place to grab some souvenirs while in New Orleans. The riverwalk of the Mississippi River is outside while the outlet itself is inside in a building which is pretty long walk from one end to the end of Nordstrom Rack where the cruise terminal/food court is located. During my visit, there were a few cool days (surprise), and I hoped to find an inexpensive cardigan or jacket. The first thing I noticed is that the names of the stores written outside the building (such as Loft and Kate Spade), weren't actually the stores in the mall. I guess the well-known stores left and have been replaced by low-quality, no-name retailers. Nordstrom's Rack and Levi's were the only major stores. Also, don't expect "outlet" prices. This is a great location and I'm surprised they seem to have trouble attracting better stores. If you want to just take a walk along the river, this is fine, but I wouldn't make an effort to go. The New Orleans waterfront should be a beautiful place to hang out, with greenery, live bands, some historic landmarks, and local vendors offering a taste of the best local food. But as it stands, it's a long and wide, very gray stretch of sidewalk with no landscaping, no entertainment, no food trucks or vendors all the way from Jax Brewery to this place: An ordinary indoor outlet mall. "The Outlet Collection" both occupies and hinders access to the waterfront, with the same old chain stores that suck the cultural and entrepreneurial life out of the heart of The Big Easy. I hate to think what this mall has done to the tourist scene around historic Jackson Square, which was so vibrant years ago. Anyhow, I do like the Cafe du Monde and, FWIW, the fresh smoothie, veggie, and juice bars in the food court, which also has a local burger stand and a local shrimp stand. BUT LOOK OUT! The Villa Pizza stand charges *** $12 *** for a single slice of stale cheese pizza. I saw that and lost the rest of my appetite. What kind of "outlet" center allows chain stores to charge double the usual price for something so simple? I will also say that many of the outlet stores had employees standing in the public areas, begging people to come into their stores. And in several visits at different times this week, I did not see many shoppers -- for better or worse. read more
