Visited this shop for the first time this past weekend. The space was much larger than I would've guessed from the street. The rows and aisles go back far and all of the shelves and floors are covered with merchandise. There are some spots where the walking is tight, but it's mostly easy to navigate around. They have a wide variety of items from marbles, to furniture, bottles, clocks, and purses. I think most collectors or individuals just interested in antiques would find a few things to pique their interest here. The staff were friendly and greeted us upon entry and exit. They had a few bathrooms scattered around with a unisex one right when you walk in. The bathroom was clean-ish and had soap and paper towels. The prices seemed fair, in most cases. Quite possibly the best antique store I have been to in the greater Pittsburgh area. There are bigger store and there's stores with rarer inventories, but Rivertown has the perfect balance of high quality, large inventory, and diverse range of time periods/styles. The staff here is friendly and were genuinely interested in sharing about their store and others in the area. Price range varies from $ to $$$$ and everything I looked at seemed fairly priced. You can find a crazy deal here and there, but for the most part this place isn't filled with cheap stuff like some other venues. So overall I'd say you come out ahead if you buy things here versus other shops. Definitely will be coming back regularly as inventories turn over and new stuff comes in! read more

This appearance of this shop is deceptive -- it is huge inside. There was a great variety and plenty of glassware. I found a Westmoreland bird on a nest that I had been looking for there and at a very reasonable price. I could have filled my car with finds. read more

This store had a pretty decent collection of everything so you can't go wrong by stopping by. Appreciate the fact things were set up to where you could actually walk through and not feel like your going to knock everything over. Would definitely go back to check out new finds. read more

This was the first antique store that I had the chance to visit in Ambridge. I was blown away by the sheer volume of antiques and collectibles that Rivertown has! The store is deceivingly spacious, which is a plus because you don't feel claustrophobic while shopping. I l-o-v-e antiquing and if you do, too, then this place is a 'must visit' on your next antiquing adventure in the Beaver County area. We found some really unique pieces for our home that we've not seen anywhere else. Some of our most favorite antique furnishings have come from here. So disappointing. We were on a buying trip with money to spend and a truck and trailer. Saw several pieces of mid century furniture that we were interested in buying. The first was a set of stacked cabinets that had no price. When I asked for the price I was told it wasn't for sale because he was using it for display. Okay that's not totally unreasonable except it only had two open shelves and the rest were closed cabinets so it wasn't displaying much. When I turned to the cabinet beside it that did have a price I was told that the way it works if you want to buy any of the larger pieces of furniture is that you can't take it with you on the same day you buy it but rather he will call you when he has time to move all the little things that are be displayed on it and finds somewhere else to put them. What?!? He wasn't phased when I tried to explain to him that I was just traveling through and would be two states away by then. I did find a two piece credenza hutch that was priced and since it only had a couple of things on it I thought for sure I could talk him into selling it to me and taking it with me but he was convinced that the top hutch did not go with the bottom credenza and it did not belong to him. When I suggested that he call the seller he said he doesn't call sellers on Sunday. WTF? He said he would email the seller. Grrr. I left buying only a couple of books but could have easily dropped over a grand. I said I would be in town for an hour or two because I had an appointment to pick up some furniture so if he happened to hear back he could call me. He called me back several hours later saying that I was right, the price was for both pieces DUH. Unfortunately I was already a state away by then. I have no idea what the hell this guy is thinking. More than 90% of the storefronts on this street are closed and boarded up. Have no idea how this place is still in business when they are turning away customers. Mostly I am writing this review to inform all the poor sellers that he is renting booths to that he flat out refuses to sell your stuff. read more

The prices are lower than Pittsburgh and they have a large selection and new items all the time. I have bought 2 french provencial chest of draws which i spray painted black for the living room which they delivered for free. About $150 each and small art deco/noveau tabe for $25 and on sale 2 1950's metal chairs for $10 each (G8 deal) They have everything mid century mod, depress glass, tools, paintings, knick knacks chairs, small tables, etc.... HOURS I BELIEVE ARE TUE - SAT 11-5 ************BUT CALL BECAUSE THEY ARE OPEN FRI/SAT NIGHTS SOMETIMES BECAUSE THERE IS A NEW BUSY CHINESE RESTARAUNT NEXT DOOR AND THEY GET ALOT OF FOOT TRAFFIC AT NIGHT NOW PPL WAITING FOR THEIR FOOD ORDER COME OVER AND LOOK AROUND--------------WORTH THE DRIVE FROM PITTSBURGH AND dont forget only 10 min away in BEAVER FALLS IS A HUGE BUILDING ANTIQUE EMPORIUM on the main drag thru town prices are higher but its huge and has medieval knight stuff cool.... read more
