I came here just once to get my arms waxed, and I'm not sure about how experienced the therapist…read morewas but took one and a half hour to wax my arms, which I've been doing for over 10 years and has never taken more than 30 minutes at any of the other many salons I've been to. I had my appointment at around 3pm, was called at around 3:20pm and finished at 5pm. This was probably just my one-time experience though. The good things that I found about the salon were that all the staff and the beauty therapist were very nice and friendly, and the place was clean and easy enough to get an appointment. Also, the prices are quite cheap compared to a lot of Dublin salons; I paid only €18 as opposed to the usual €25 that I normally end up paying for a full arm wax. However, the fact that it took three times as long was a let down. They do hair and make up as well as a range of beauty treatments and nails, so the service is quite broad. The location is very convenient in that it's right in the middle of the town centre, just opposite the church and onlya minute from the Westcourt hotel. Overall Price: cheap- 5/5 Service: Slow- 2/5 Friendliness: 5/5 Variety of treatments: 3/5 Location: Central: 5/5 Online bookine: By online form request

Confession: my hair has never been styled by these guys. However, an ex-boyfriend got his hair cut…read morethere a few times, and since I was the one that had to look at him, I therefore feel qualified to comment! They made him look good. Having sat patiently in the waiting area while he was beautified, I can honestly say it's a really nice salon. I'm not a big fan of the décor, but the staff were really chatty and friendly, and the price wasn't too bad. I'm perfectly happy with my stylist in Michael Quinn, but should that ever change, I wouldn't think twice about giving this place a go.

I don't ever "betray" my usual stylist, but he recommended I go here to get natural glue in hair…read moreextensions in preparation for my wedding hair (I wanted lots of volume and my normal hair is thinner than Kate Moss on a diet). So, at his suggestion, I called these guys and booked in to get myself a new head of hair. Can we leave all controversial debates about whether hair extensions are morally correct aside for the moment and concentrate on the service? They were excellent. They looked after me from start to finish, gave me advice on how to look after the extensions, and kept me occupied with copious cups of tea and magazines while they worked tirelessly on my tresses. The result was a fabulous mane of hair, double the thickness of my previous sad mop - and it lasted for 6 months. It wasn't cheap at all, actually very expensive indeed, but when you consider the man-hours and the cost of ordering and dying the hair to match mine, it wasn't a surprise. I went into it with my eyes wide open, knowing it would hurt my wallet. I would more than recommend this place if anyone is thinking of having extensions put in and are prepared to pay for good quality service and product. If they can make me look good, they can do it for anyone!

Very disappointed with the outcome of my extensions. The woman who did my extensions appeared to be…read morethe manager. she had red hair. I was told I had to get 6 packets of hair extensions which cost about 900€. I expressed that I didn't want that much hair and was only looking to get 3 or 4 packets max. She told me that it wouldn't blend if I didn't get 6. My hair wasnt even that long or thick. She used 5 full packets and only 3 bonds out of the last packet and still charged me for all 6. I didn't even want to get that much hair. she also cut into my hair to blend them which looked awful when I removed the extensions. they were way too thick and heavy and not what I wanted. It felt like she didn't really care and just wanted to get me out of the chair as soon as possible. I went back a week later to get some of the bonds removed as it was far too heavy and it wouldn't even stay up in a ponytail. She seemed annoyed that I came back and came across quite rude. The quality of the hair is very good but I felt I was mislead and taken advantage of. When I went to another extension salon to get them removed and new extensions refitted, I was told that I did not need anywhere near as much hair as they put in and that I only needed 3 packets. I won't be returning to platinum and it is a shame I wasted so much money there.

I came in here with my friend for her to get hair extensions and the compliments she received that night were just unreal - Never mind the male attention. I was secretly a bit green with envy. The staff are lovely and the premises itself are nice and cosy. It's made me rethink the whole extensions thing. Never thought it would be my thing until now.
