Ok, ok. I may be biased in my 5-star rating because I work at The Andalusia Bookman shop, but trust…read moreme, I'm not. I simply love great rare books, collections of ephemera, and places that make you feel at home -- you get all this and more, here. Walk-ins aren't welcome just yet, so please call for an appointment, but once you visit it may become a routine like it has for so many others.. At the shop you'll find: over 60,000 items, specializing in 19th and 18th c. illustrated books, chromolithos, Philadelphiana, rare anthropology, early hermeneutics, Natural history, first editions, signed items, Beat lit, '60's material, unusual occult, erotica and esoterica. We have a vast collection of ephemera, art work (steel engravings, pouchoir, collotype), movie posters (of the 1940's - 50's) and a mass of important 19th c. bound periodicals (Oology to Archeology, Mathematics, Botany, Knitting), and 20th c. Art journals, Italian Fascist publications, etc., culled from Walter J. Johnson's liquidation, as well as a collection rare jazz records. And much more, just ask. Dave has been in business for twenty-five years in the incarnations of David L. Miller Rare Books, The Book Merchants, the Philadelphia's Riverside Book Fair and 30th Street Station Book Fair. In 1991 we purchased the business, name and stock of Samuel Kleinman's legendary Schuylkill Book and Curio Shop of 4207 Lancaster Ave., Phila. PA. Thanks for reading, and give us a call to check out the shop!

My experiences at the Garden has been pretty hit-and-miss. Sometimes, I find some amazing books,…read morebut other times, the selection is lackluster. You really have to sift through boxes and boxes and boxes of trash comics to find anything worth adding to your collection. Given that this is the only comic shop in the northeast, you'll find that diamond in the rough or back issue you never thought of seeing in a million years. But it's not all the time that occurs. Occasionally, I venture down to the basement to check out those dollar bins, but it's a dusty, damp, disorganized area usually packed with card game tournament attendees. The atmosphere in the basement during tournament days can leave little to be desired, including foul people, odors, and language. But then again, this IS a comic book store, so those things are to be expected The main floor features a much more organized back issue selection, but sometimes, these can be rather picked over. Pricing is usually decent, with most back issues priced at a buck with recent, newer, or exclusive backstock priced just a tad higher. There is a small new release section, but it's not as extensive as you would hope to see at a comic shop. Some wall books and sets are ridiculously overpriced, while others are genuinely affordable. The Garden really is a mystery grab bag. I pop in every couple of months, hoping to find something new, and sometimes, I'm pleasantly surprised. Most of the staff is nice, too, especially given the challenge of dealing with all that goes into running a comic/card collector shop. Over time, I've gotten to know them and have started to appreciate what they deal with each day. *Bonus Tip: Double-check the condition of anything you plan to purchase, as a lot of books tend to be bent or creased. If you're patient and willing to dig, you might find something worthwhile, just don't snatch up everything so the rest of us can at least discover something in there too

NOT WORTH SHOPPING HERE !!! I went in today 12-27-19 to return an item I purchased 12-23 (drone) I…read moreasked they said they didn't have it then they find the ( for show product ) sell it to me I'm like ok I guess why not. When I get home to check it out... Off the bat I seen no instructions, charger wasn't the right type to begin with ! So I looked online to see how much a charger to match it would be. 23$ so I just returned it again today. I'm not paying for that if I'm not even satisfied with my item. I go in the morning 10 am as soon as they open. I kindly asked if I can return the drone. Whoever the ignorant, incompetent, dumb employee who dealt with me should get fired she says " ok ID and Recipe " it's in the bag " take it out and hand it to me " takes the recipe... I hand her my ID. She says nothing to me. Toss my ID on top of the bag and hand me my return slip. I grab my ID give her a nasty look cause she should have better training. I ask is that it.? Her response " yeah 3-5 days for your money bye" it's 10 in the morning go back to bed and roll over cause your ride as hell.

At the time of purchase the associate asked me if i want to sign up for their reward program, i legit asked her if it was free and she said yes, she didn't explain anything to me so i didn't think anything about it. Fast forward a month and i check my account and im charged $11.99 from fye for a membership fee. I called and cancelled but they told me i they couldn't refund my money, words cant explain how livid i am right now. $11.99 is nothing to me but what if i didn't have it in my account and got charged a overdraft fee? and what makes it worst is that i straight up asked her about it. Im surprised this store is still open, everything they have is overpriced and outdated, I suggest you shop elsewhere.
