You know... I'm a bit surprised that the Hackensack location isn't already listed... and even more surprised that it's not yet reviewed. Then again, Yelp has mostly been for restaurants, and are only expanding to the "other business' " sector. So... let me start by saying I LOVE my pediatrician. He's practical, knowledgeable, and takes the time to explain things to you and make sure that you understand what's going on. Dr. Zeyad Baker is based out of the Hackensack office, and that's honestly why we go there. The Riverside Pediatric Group is huge (probably the largest in North Jersey (if not all of Jersey). Its main office (located in Secaucus) has amazing hours: 8 am to midnight - (almost every day) during holidays and weekends, etc. The offices have a separate sick room, where sick kids stay so as to not infect those who are there for shots, normal check-ups, etc. They also do FREE presentations for expecting parents (which is how we first found out about them). This is basically the same information that you have to pay $75 per class for through the hospital. They have a doctor there for questions as well as a lactating specialist. You see the video, you do the exercises, etc. It's not specifically a lamaze class, or a cpr class, but it is the general, what to expect and how to deal w/ everything seminar. And I think there's free food too... Anyway... If you do decide to go here... definitely go in the early mornings. This location isn't open on Sundays, and closes by 2 pm on Saturdays. If you want the full hours (8 am to midnight) go to Secaucus, but they are a lot more crowded and have a much longer wait time. Again, it's always important to be completely comfortable and somewhat in love (not romantically) with your pediatrician bc that's who's going to tell you what the heck is going on w/ your kid(s). I would recommend give Dr. Zeyad Baker a try (he's got 2 brothers and a father, all in the Dr. business... two of them pediatricians, so look for Z. Baker!) Also, did I mention that his family OWNS the Riverside Pediatric Group? You can set up a consult, free of charge, to meet him and discuss your concerns and see if it's a good fit. read more

I received excellent care from Dr Evans who was thorough, spent plenty of time with me and communicated everything clearly. The office staff is so kind and caring. They expedited my appointment and diagnostics to accommodate what I needed for an upcoming surgery. read more

My appointment was @ 11:00. I came 5 minutes early , the noise level in the waiting room was so overwhelming, every single seat had a patient waiting, on the phone, tv is blasting at full volume. I told reception I'd wait outside. No disinfecting anywhere. No precautions during this pandemic Half an hour later I get called in to be put in another small room. When I asked if chair or any instruments where disinfected , the nurse said no, only every two patients we do. Here I am, an hour later and still haven't seen the doctor. read more

Riverside Internal and Pediatrics have moved to Maywood And remodeled their Hackensack location . The Hackensack location now has a Pediatric Developmental Department!! This is amazing news since every other developmental around has over a year and half wait time . Lucky for Riverside they only have a couple of wait times . They also have a waitlist which is very accommodating . Dr Hernandez is an amazing Pediatrician !!! She has great bed side manners and helps you understand the reason of the visit . She takes her time and is very detailed with her visit. The first visit is usually about an hour and half long which is understand . The waiting room is kid friendly and has a play area for the kids . I would recommend Riverside Developmental department to best accommodate any child's needs !! read more

It used to be a great place with dr Baker. Now the wait is more then an hour, even with an appointment. The stuff is not very friendly. The waiting room is crowded. Patients have to park illegally in front of the building, because their 2 parking lots are full. The patient who came after us was seen first and the doctor's visit was very rushed. Every time I'm bringing my kids there, I end up looking for another office. And today's visit was probably the last. There are some good aspects, don't get me wrong, like the quality of the doctors, they do the majority of the lab work on the premises, they just made a major renovation, if needed you can be seen on Sunday too at a different location. And if you plan your visits during the normal school and work hours, this office can be a good fit for the needs of your child. But if you are working and your kids go to school, consider your next visit to the doctor as camping out. Bring the food supplies and entertainment that would last you 1,5 hours. read more

Unacceptable, unprofessional behavior with regards to appointment timeliness for patient visits. Patient appointments either run late or are completely changed after patient arrives for schedule visits, with on location staff providing unacceptable reasons for why these unprofessional, inconsiderate errors occur. Consider going to another medical provider to avoid such frustrations read more

We had the WORST experience at Riverside! BEWARE!! They DON"T CARE!! Accountability seems nonexistent. So, I went looking for a new physician for my husband and I, then decided to have my annual physical there. Busy office, long wait time but no worries. I was a new patient and had a lot of info to complete. I answered the questions honestly and thought they'd raise a few concerns, which I was open to discuss. When the Dr. finally saw me, she reviewed my file quickly and said I was fine, but to probably begin taking multi-vitamins. She apologized for being late due to how busy the office was and left. She was nice enough and I felt she was competent but I felt completely disregarded. My husband was experiencing some pretty serious issues after having a brain tumor removed some years back and needed to see a Dr. fairly quickly. I warned him that the Riverside Group seemed to rush people in/ out so I didn't think we needed to stay with them but he said they were worth a shot. I went with him to the appointment, where many red flags were raised. There were significant issues with his blood pressure and concerns with cancer being prevalent in both sides of his family. His Dr. sent him to the ER for his blood pressure, took blood and had him schedule an appointment with Riverside's GI team. At the GI appointment, it became clear that he'd need a colonoscopy, which the team scheduled on our behalf. My husband and I each took off from work for the procedure and was given instructions to prepare. About a week prior to the procedure, the GI team called my husband to have him see his GP before the procedure. They neglected to mention that the appointment was needed literally THAT DAY because of testing, where the results were needed returned before the procedure. My husband has a busy job with a tight schedule and wasn't able to make the appointment earlier than the day before the procedure. That day, my husband began to prepare for the procedure as instructed, then went to the appointment just to find out that the procedure had to be cancelled because of the needed testing/ results. He expressed his frustration but let it go and figured he'd reschedule it for a month or so and get the tests. The GP office apologized, saying the person who called was supposed to make it clear that the appointment was needed within that day or so. The next day, Riverside's GI office called our home to complain that he didn't show up for the colonoscopy, which was scheduled at Hackensack Hospital that morning. I lost it! Riverside's GP & GI teams are within the same building, just a hallway apart. Yet, communication is so difficult to manage! They set up the appointment for the procedure but didn't cancel it when they informed us my husband couldn't move forward with the procedure. The person who called had no idea of the appointment less than 24hrs. earlier - IN THEIR FACILITY! What is the point of having a "group" of physicians/ staff if the convenience of a "group" isn't accessible within? All they needed to do was look at the records to see what is going on. However, they didn't do that. They might as well be in different countries if they don't look at the data in front of them. There is a BIG disconnect with Riverside and their patients. I was actually warned early on from a local business person and colleague that they are more like "fast-food medicine". If you want comprehensive care with a team of Dr.s that spend time with you and care, Riverside is not what you want. Point confirmed. Know what you're getting into. And Riverside ... I invite you to settle this issue, though I doubt you will. You have my contact info. read more

Examination Rooms are extremely small (more like closets); which are very uncomfortable for the patient/s and parent/s. Staff is unprofessional. It seems as though Riverside Medical Group hires just about anyone who applies. Patients/parents who are already stressed due to their or child's sickness, shouldn't feel even more stressed from dealing with their rude staff. Staff should properly call patients PRIOR to the appointment, if doctor is unable to attend. If I book an appointment with a specific doctor, don't throw a N.P. at me. The reason I pay a shit load of good insurance is to be seen by an actual doctor, not a N.P.. read more

I am very disappointed with my visit here. I went there to find out if my 6 month old son had an ear infection. I was supposed to be seen by his pediatrician but some lady came in without introducing herself. I assumed she was a new doctor. She checked my son's ears and his lungs and all was clear. She then wanted to check if he had the flu. Had she checked my son's records she would have seen he received his flu shots but proceeded to test him anyway. It came back negative. Then she wanted to test his urine for infection. I told her there is no way my son has an infection in his urine. She said that "there is no way she can go home and sleep at night" if she doesn't test everything. She had one of the nurses tape a plastic bag on my son to pee in. My 6 month old does not pee on command since I had just changed his wet diaper while waiting for the flu test result. What should have been a simple test for an ear infection turned into a 3 hour ordeal. After an a very long time of waiting for my son to pee (mind you, he was getting very agitated being in this tiny room), she comes into the room and tells me I have two options. Either we cath my 6 month old son or we take the plastic bag home with us and bring in his urine the next day! Cath my baby for a simple test so she can "sleep at night"???? My son finally peed into the bag and of course his urine sample came out negative! Which I told her from the start. Come to find out, she is a nurse practitioner and her name is SANDRA ESTEVEZ. I am upset that I called their Hackensack office for an appointment with my son's DOCTOR. Had I know that an NP was seeing us, I would have declined. It's the patients choice if they want to be seen by their doctor or an NP. You and your practice have lost a patient! Very disappointed indeed with your service! read more

My first visit to riverside pediatrics is February 2013, a week after my daughter born. I met Dr. Zeyad Baker for couple of times in the beginning. Dr. Baker is very knowledgable and professional. I can really tell that he had so many experiences. I was very satisfied with what his done. Especially when my daughter got her first cough/cold, Dr. Baker was really take a good care of her. He spent a lot of times (not rushed out) and what I love the most is when he treated my daughter without medicine. He just give my daughter nebulizer, which I think is a perfect. Because I don't have to be worried of chemical of medicine that could possibly harms my 1mo baby. He told me to come back a week after that to follow up. But then after a year, it all changed unfortunately. He was no longer taking care of patients. I always got NP or another doctor whose in charge that time. Then after that the place is renovating and now had 2nd floor. The staff also changing from time to time. The recent front office staff is really rude and not trained very well. I can tell by the way she talk to my husband when my husband asked politely "why the patient that came after us was called first?". She's offended and instead of replied politely and informed us properly, she just said "he already made an appointment". Well we also had an appointment if that's the case. But then again she said we just made appointment by phone on the same day, so it's just same as just walk in. Whattt? That is so weird! But then what more ridiculous came from her mouth was after that she said "there still 5 more patient before you, so it's up to you". Pardon me?! Up to us?! What kind of answer is that? She knows very well that we can not go, because we apparently have no choice that time because of our sick daughter need to go to the doctor asap. But then we just sit and wait, we just don't want to make a scene and we need to see the doctor right away. After almost an hour waiting, we finally called. There was 3 lady came in to our room, I don't know each of them because they just came and never tell who they are or what they do. So the first one check my daughter weight and temperature. The second one take a sample of my daughter saliva and snot. Then the third one is check my daughter breath with stethoscope and told us that my daughter got early bronchitis and she give cough medicine and antibiotics. I asked her isn't it virus? Because my daughter got cough and runny nose just after a boy cough right in front of her face 3 days before. But she said it was bacteria and it's early bronchitis. Then I just don't want to argue, because whose the doctor here? When we got home I am trying to find on google the correlation between cold/cough, bronchitis and antibiotics. From what I read on kidshealth.org "bronchitis is caused by virus, the doctor may not prescribe antibiotic (antibiotics only works again bacteria, not viruses)". And another one from US National Library of Medicine, "antibiotics do not fight infections caused by viruses, such as colds, flu and most coughs and bronchitis. Okay riverside pediatrics, I think that will be the last time visit. You just lost 1 more patient. I hope Dr. Baker read yelp! read more

This is a review for the pediatric office. Leslie is the worse of the worse at customer service. This office makes any visit stressful and uncomfortable. My children have been patients here since 2008, but no longer. I refuse to bring my children here ever again. Unless you speak Spanish, they are so RACIST towards you. These people should be happy to be in this country for starters, and second to even have a job. I do not feel one bit appreciated as a patient. Doctors are a dime a dozen. All patients should be appreciated and respected. read more

I dont even know why I gave them one star! This place is HORRIBLE!!!! If you do have a serious health problem I suggest you do not attempt to go here. It's like a factory of patients, I went for my son vaccination shots, first they did not have his records , second they said they will call me when the blood work comes in to see if he really needs MMR vaccine. They called me this morning and said the blood results were in and he does need it. I then took him to find out he does not need the shots?!! I mean what records were they looking at?!!!! NOW I am trying to reach someone and I have been placed on hold for EVER! THIS WILL BE THE LAST TIME I GO TO THIS FACTORY, NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THE OTHER ONE IS DOING! i WILL ALSO SPREAD THE WORD IN OUR NEWSLETTER!!! read more

Have made this my main doctor - with the stressful task of finding a new doctor in a new area this is a great location. Wonderful doctors, staff and quick appointments, not to mention flexible hours. Everyone is super friendly and they even do bloodwork on site. I currently see Mona and she is very responsive to your needs and very welcoming. Plan to keep on using Riverside as my general. Thanks!! read more

I have taken my son and daughter more than once. Every time I came in I didn't wait for a long time. However, the medical assistant Doris was exceptional, she was very helpful especially with my newborn child. Also Doris was very friendly to me and my children in which they loved her. At last, she encouraged me to go to riverside adults for me and my husband's care. read more

the branch in 1st street, hackensack has the worst front office and receptionist team. My husband got a blood work done on 4th Feb and I called up thrice for reports on 15th Feb. Everytime somebody picks up asks me to give a moment and keeps my call on hold for more than 20 mins after which I disconnect. The third time somebody picks up and I requested for the reports and also mentioned about the delay, the lady started to yell and said who kept you on hold for 20 minutes, when i mentioned it was Natasha, she rudely said she is on call and dint bother to listen what i wanted to say. Never ever am I returning there. read more

I recently delivered and my pediatrician was not affiliated with Hackensack so my child was seen by Dr. Baker at the hospital. I was DISGUSTED by his attitude and commentary to me as a new first time mom. He strolled into my hospital room and rudely announced, "The kid passed all her tests so now we are just babysitting." and walked out. The day of discharge I asked him if the formula could be upsetting my child's stomach because she was up screaming for hours the night before and he replied with, "Someone should have told you babies suck." This is not someone who should be treating children and should have to go for some serious attitude readjustment before continuing to practice medicine. read more

We had a appointment to see dr. Baker. First of all he gives appointments at 6 am. Most of the time for 18 months old children but that's not the problem. We were 15 mins late this time so, he refused to see us. But on our previous visits we were on time and he was 17 minutes late. So, we requested to be considerate. But staff would not pass the msg. So, I confronted him in hallways and told him most of the time you are late and we are considerate. He said "Dude you should find another dr." It was shocking to me that how can a dr. Be so arrogant. He has created huge corporate style business and does not care about patients, you are just a number. I think his success got over his head and he has attitude size of an elephant. He thinks he is the only pediatrician. He would not even spend full 10 mins with you while checking your children. And would focus more on training his trainees and talk to them more then you. Take my advice find other dr. Your child deserves caring care giver read more

One star is overrating the quality of care I received in this facility. I'll make this horror experience short for lack of time. Facilities are dirty, small, & staff is extremely unprofessional. Please do not fall for the "open 7 days a week for your benefit" because it's for no ones benefit but the narcissistic, inhumane, piece of work that is Dr.Baker. Let's just say I brought in my 3 DAY old child & was met in the room by 7, I repeat 7, medical students in what I would call a closet of a room. When I kindly & respectively asked if just the doctor could be in the room. Dr.Baker very rudely replied " No, they're staying, this is a teaching facility & you signed papers knowing so." I informed the doctor I signed no such thing & I simply wasn't comfortable w/ so many people being around my newborn in such a small space & in turn Dr.Baker responded with "well then you should look for another doctor." I was completely in shock as to how I was being treated not to say exhausted & hormonal from giving birth 3 days prior!!! Not wanting to leave my daughter w/o a pediatrician before finding another, we decided to schedule her another appt. but when we got to the front desk the receptionist told us Dr. Baker requested a copy of our documents to take elsewhere & we could not schedule another appt. unless we signed a paper stating that we would accept as many students as he'd like to come into a room with him. This doctor cares for no one but himself, please save yourself the agony or go with a different doctor in their group. We took our documents & never looked back, no parent should endure that kind of behavior. Good luck new parents, a good pediatrician will be like a part of your family & Dr.Baker is just not it. read more

Worse pediatric care ever! Went in as an emergency because I live down the street from Ridgefield Park office and they turned me down at 6pm.
