I walked by this location the other day and there was a sign advertising a sale. When I went inside there was a sign with extra 40% and this was on the lowest price. I found some quality items for a reasonable price including $3.82 for 6 pairs of socks. They also offer an extra 20% for first responders and military was is a great recognition. The change rooms were comfortable and they have smart technology where it knows what items you have on the hangers. One can request another size without leaving the change room. They also have a cool machine to customize masks if you buy one in store. Not only were the prices good, service was great too. I would definitely be back to shop here!

As I placed my order, it indicated that the downtown store was "Next Day Pick Up". Given that I wanted to pick up as soon as possible, I selected the downtown store, even though the location is terribly inconvenient for me. Approximately 24 hours later, I called the downtown store, whom after about 25 mins on the phone with various people, told me they had no record of the purchase. Of course, I couldn't go pick up the jacket, the next day, at a location that was inconvenient, because MEC hadn't even processed the Order as of yet. Great. I called the customer service line and spoke to a male who told me "this sale has caught us completely off guard and we're overwhelmed". No kidding?? The male told me that there had been staff cutbacks this year, due to how slow it had been, but suddenly the sale has regenerated sales that have overwhelmed the existing employees Ok ... the spokesperson then told me that my jacket was in Winnipeg and had to be shipped to Edmonton! What is going on here, MEC?? You hold a Black Friday sale and you're overwhelmed??? Then my next day pick up, at this inconvenient location, is in Winnipeg??? The kicker is December 16, 2024, I received an email from MEC telling me that my order has been cancelled. My goodness. I've been a supporter of MEC for over 25 years, and have never seen such awful customer service or a absolute lack of responsibility in fulfilling an order - for that matter, I don't think I've ever had a more disappointing exchange with any store, ever, than this experience. Was quoted ~2,500 for a blazer in our chosen fabric - YIKES. Price includes full lining, if you opt out of lining you still pay full price. Our chosen fabric would take 6-8weeks (not including final fitting) but another fabric choice would have been closer to 3-5weeks. Also the fabric people take a month off in the summer - usually August he said so he said if you do not order Before August it will be a 4 week wait for them to be able to order again. Overall we did not go with a custom blazer from here, due to the price but maybe one day! The other clothing sold here is very high end = pricey. My boyfriend was very heartbroken the sweater he liked was $700 lol.

Overall, a neat little store. It gives me a bit of a fix to tide me over until the next world cup.

Just today we needed a second pair of compression pants for my hockey kiddo and I got two pairs on clearance here for $20 when they were $70+ just down the street at Sport Check. Plus, we totally lucked out and got help today from Amber (I think???) longtime hockey player who has worked here for years and still picks up the occasional shift. She's baked our skates, fixed stance issues, custom fit super feet, and been all around awesome for us on numerous visits. Protein - prepay for skate sharpenings here to save money and to save time for drop off/pick up! We also get names screened onto jerseys here - whether for soccer or hockey, we've never had a problem with the cresting coming off. The store itself sells all things sports, from bicycles to hockey equipment and everything in between they have a good selection and their prices are competitive when I have been looking for a product. The staff is always really great. They are helpful and kind and that makes the whole experience all around great. Tons of parking too, what more could you ask for?
