Before there was a Wiliams Sonoma store in the state of Iowa Cooks Emporium has been selling high-quality cooking gear and offering classes in downtown Ames. While the location isn't huge you'll find the well-established brands (All-Clad, Le Creuset, Wusthof) that you trust right here. As someone who enjoys cooking, I can spend a lot of time browsing in here for kitchen gadgets. I do the majority of my business here around the holidays and they do a really nice job of wrapping gifts. They are very helpful in answering questions and guiding you toward the right purchase for your task or gift idea. As I write this review I can see many items that we've purchased from the Cooks Emporium. They are local, offer high-quality merchandise, and offer competitive prices on par with even online-retailers.

But I love looking here and it's great for small buys (rubber scrapers) and "crap I need this right now and no one else in town is going to have it" impulse buys (mandoline). When we first received the estimate, we were told the shower and all associated work came with a lifetime warranty. Since then, we have had a recurring mold issue forming behind the silicone. They did come out once before and reapply the caulking, but the mold issue continues. After reviewing the contract, it does state that caulking itself is not included in the warranty. However, our concern is not normal caulking wear, but the repeated failure and mold forming behind the silicone after it has already been replaced. Under normal conditions, properly installed and sealed silicone should not be allowing mold to develop in this way. When we contacted customer service, we were told there would be a $250 service fee to come out and inspect the issue, and when we requested escalation, we were advised it could only be handled via email with a callback at an unspecified time. At this point, our concern is that this appears to be a workmanship or installation issue rather than routine caulking maintenance, and the response we have received has not aligned with what we were originally told at the time of installation. Based on our experience, we are disappointed with both the ongoing issue and the handling of our concerns.

I told her that we would be contacting an attorney, and asked her name again because I needed to note who I spoke with. She said, "You aren't giving my name to any attorney, they will be talking to TheraSpa." Then she yelled "F$&k you!" and hung up. Take your business elsewhere, they prey on elderly people!!!
