Horrible customer service and management. Nobody returns any calls back and this was even before COVID.

If you are working for or just got hired at any food service establishment in California it is…read morerequired by law that you have a basic understanding of food safety; which means that you will have to get your pretty little hands, and your name, on a food handler's card. If you are specifically working at a food service establishment in Riverside this is the place to go within 14 days of being employed. They are open Monday- Thursday from 7 am-5pm and closed on holidays. The test will take about 20 minutes to complete, but give yourself at least an additional 20 more minutes to review the information they will be testing on. It is very important to review this information at least once before you take the test if you are wanting to pass the first time. Some of the questions asked are common sense, like having to wash your hands after using the lou; but a lot of the questions are not, like specific times and temperatures that food needs to be at when left out without being in the temperature danger zone. You can review the material they test on beforehand on their website, otherwise they have booklets available on location for you to borrow as long as you need before taking the test. There is no trickery in the wording of the questions, everything is pretty much straight out of the booklet. The test costs $20 to take (with 3 chances to pass without paying the fee again), $5 for any duplicates you may need made. CASH ONLY. Tests are also available in Spanish. After you have paid your fee, you are given the test, a clipboard with the answer sheet, and a pencil. Once you are finished, you turn it in and they grade your test in front of you letting you know right away if you have passed or failed, giving you an opportunity to review any questions you may have missed. When you pass you fill out a form that asks your name and where in Riverside you work and they give you your food handlers card. This card needs to be renewed every 2 years. Save the receipt for a work expense write off. Tests in Spanish are also available. Other 951 offices besides this one to get your food handlers card at are: *2275 Main St Suite 204, Corona, CA 92882 (951) 273-9140 *800 S. Sanderson Ave., Hemet, CA 92545 (951) 766-2824 *38740 Sky Canyon Drive, Murrieta, CA 92563 (951) 461-0284 Apparently there is a California Food Handler's Card you can also get online for $10. You take the test and print out the food handlers card from the comfort of your home computer (www.cafoodhandlers.com), but I do not know how legit it may be so I just played it safe and went to this location instead.

Got in and out and done. :-) Very easy and plenty of parking.read more

California... you'll always be an icon of growth, struggle, determination, overcoming; my personal…read moredefinition of perseverance. Between the three SoCal counties closest to beaches: Riverside, Orange, and Los Angeles - Riverside was the most affordable. Thought out decisions have brought me to leave CA all in all. When we moved from the expensive bay area, I chose to live in Riverside cuz I fell in love with all the palm trees. I was infatuated with downtown's Festival of Lights during the winter holidays - went to see it every year. Loved the cozy feeling of having hot chocolate champorrado on a chilly evening. Found it cool to tell family that 'we live in the Inland Empire.' Thing is most my life in SoCal was spent in the OC for work. But I was able to find moments of discovery when I was home in Riverside. My favorite is Mount Rubidoux. Who knew serenity existed a few blocks away from downtown, busy freeway, a University campus, and nightlife? Riverside has some well knowns! Fox Theater, Monster energy drink warehouse, Kaiser hospital, historical orange groves. Then Corona... circle city as it's called. On a map the main streets are shaped like a sun with Grand as the "crown" and streets branch out from it. Reminds me of how children used to draw a sun on a piece of paper. Mountain views, alluring sunrises and sunsets. Atop a hill on a clear evening, sights of spectacular city lights. Just taking these little big things all in - city of Corona is deserving of its name. If you decide to visit Riverside County, I recommend you stay at the Marriott in downtown Riverside. I had done so when I was out here for job interviews. Marriott beds are like clouds. And they carry an aromatherapy line for their bathroom products. In Riverside, you'll find many things to do, including visiting museums and historical sights, a drive to Morongo Casino less than an hour away - next to the Cabazon Outlets, a drive to Santa Monica within an hour; close enough to Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm. It's not a 24 hour area, but I'll say it's just right. Welcome to the Inland Empire!

You call. No one answers the phones…read more You leave voicemails. No reply. You leave many voicemails with many different people. MANY no replies. What?!! Only way to get any service is to go there in person.... and wait... and wait... and wait. Oh, bonus is you get to go through a security check run by rent-a-cops who think they are the secret service or something. County employees must have ultimate job security and can't get fired. They must not care about customer feedback. This is where our taxes go to. Pathetic.
