My dad didn't want any sort of services and wanted to be cremated. When my family and I initially met with someone at the funeral home the day after my dad passed we were told he would be ready to pick up a couple days later on Thursday and we would also get an email regarding the obituary/who to email it back to. A days goes by and no email, and we had given the funeral home various phone numbers and emails in the off chance something was written down wrong. We had to call to remind them to send us an email which we eventually got after calling. Thursday rolled around and we waited all day and no one called us so we again called in the evening and were told "he'll be ready tomorrow in the afternoon". We waited around the whole following day and again heard nothing and had to call them again in the evening and were then told "tomorrow at noon". Mind you the funeral home uses a call center service who just say "we'll pass your message along" and they have no idea who you are or know anything about your loved one which just complicated things and makes things more frustrating. We also emailed our dads obituary which has still yet to be posted and we never received a response back. My family and I are just so deeply disappointed by the service and the whole experience we had with Brown's and have already told friends and extended family about our experience and that we would never recommend them to anyone, ever, and I urge anyone who may be reading this to head my advice. There's absolutely no excuse for the lack of communication we received and it's frankly disrespectful and disgusting.

This funeral home does pet cremations, and it was very comforting to me to know as my cat was…read morepeacefully dying at home, that I could call on them 24/7 and bring them his body. They have three options for pet cremations, escalating in price: a general cremation where you don't receive the ashes, a semi private where your animal is cremated with other animals separated by barriers, but you receive the ashes, and a completely private cremation. I opted for the semi private, and it cost 85 dollars. Jim was respectful and Basically made it as good as something this miserable could be. I received the ashes in 7 days.

I was referred to Plattsburgh Memorials to arrange for a memorial stone; I was sent a contract by…read morethe Cemetery, I mailed a check early in August with the signed contract, but never heard from the company that they received the check or to communicate in any way. My check was cashed the end of Sept 2025, still no communication. I have left no less than 6 messages to find out when the stone would be placed, the last one this past Friday 11/7. My only method of communication was through the representative from the Cemetery I originally contacted who referred me to Plattsburgh Memorials that to make the stone and place it would be 6-8 weeks. I was told there had been illness in the family...but we are now approaching 2-1/2 months with no direct contact with this company. I would NOT refer this company.
