As an attending senior,…read moreI was very impressed with how well organized things were and the enthusiasm of all who were involved. We were greeted at the bridge to the club, then again when we arrived in the dining area. There was a guided tour of the facility before the meal. The meal was great and the kids were great as wait staff....offering drinks, taking away plates, providing dessert, etc. Was heartwarming to see a group of young people being very responsible, helpful and enjoying providing the meal. A big THANK YOU, to all of you fine B&G people!!

From the owner: Mountain Area Youth Organization is a 501c3 Non-profit Organization founded in 1999 with the…read morepurpose of providing a safe space for the youth of the mountain communities to come together for fun enrichment programs that further the growth of each individual. Mountain Youth Clubs (MY Club) offers enrichment programs with a heavy focus on homework help, Keeping Fit, STEM, Leadership and Arts & Crafts. Our enrichment programs follow our School District partners schedules to provide for After School, Intercession/Vacation/Holiday and Summer programming for Coarsegold, Hillside, North Fork, Oakhurst, Rivergold, Spring Valley and Wasuma Elementary Schools. This year we have offered Basketball, Flag Football and Volleyball leagues. We have also added introductory camps for Basketball, Volleyball, Flag Football, Lacrosse and Soccer. MY Club is committed to maintaining league registrations at $20 and sports camps at $10. We offer several scholarships through our Youth Ambassador Program and a $3,000 MY Club Scholarship Award for our graduating Seniors. MY Club has expanded our Summer Jobs Program to employ 14 High School Students as Junior Program Assistants and Lifeguards.

My child started going to Foundation Success Academy daycare when he was 6 months old (it was a new…read moredaycare center Dec 2023). There have been many incidents during his care there that he came home with scrapes, small bruises, and even one time fell out of his eating chair because of a teacher not paying attention (the school let me know that the teacher was fired who let it happen -- but I was not really sure of the outcome; but trusted their word). I also was very respectful and we gifted the teachers as they deserved year round gifts and gratitude gifts, even gifts for the daycare for reaching its one year anniversary. However, I am very upset with how they terminated my son and didn't provide him the support he needed when he had a "biting" issue. They gave us three strikes on paper (even though they mentioned to me that policy gives four strikes). The first two strikes, they didn't do anything to help correct the behavior & he was suspended with two days within the two strikes. They gave me a notice of the first two strikes that they would monitor him and help him and guide him through this developmental stage, as it is a normal development behavior; however, when I asked them of the new methods of redirection and support, they didn't have much incorporated. I also mentioned to them of support tactics I heard of from other people, like having a buddy system, providing a teether, or even if he can be transferred to the toddler class. Then, after the second strike I took matters into my own hands with professionals (even while we were constantly redirecting him at home), and took him to his pediatrician, which she said it's normal behavior, we just need to redirect him and she also provided me referrals. I also kept him out of school for a week and half (thankfully, with my flexible work schedule and management, I was allowed to -- because I know that most jobs would not be as flexible) to keep up with the redirection and then took him to a behavioral center to get evaluated (CVRC and EPU). They said he had a minor speech delay that could be causing the biting due to him not being able to communicate or express himself (they were also shocked that he was still in the infant class considering that he was 1.5 shy from being two), but honestly, his speech wasn't that bad for a 22 month child! But hey, I took the help because I wanted to ensure he was given all the help he needed. However, after the week and a half, I took my toddler back to the daycare and explained to the assistant director Tanesha that he has been seen by his pediatrician, EPU, and CVRC, along with receiving our continued redirection at home and reading books such as "teeth are not for biting". However, that same day, he bit again. Tanesha mentioned that they could try putting him into the toddler class and monitor him, but the owner of the daycare did not approve of it and wanted him in the infant class. Thinking of him in an infant room being 22 months is insane, unethical & extremely uneducated, especially to terminate any child under 3 years old for biting/hitting (as it's developmentally NORMAL & expected for them to bite). Also, having a 2 year old with infants throws the state mandated ratio way off! This raised red flags for the daycare!! Mainly because children already become super bored with the infant room and there isn't enough stimulation for them in there! So I feel they did not support him and his needs, nor did they want to TRY to help guide him through this phase. So, they ended up calling me the same day and terminated him. As of now (with two months passing), he's getting state funded speech therapy through the programs that I reached out to (CVRC & EPU). He is now also enrolled in a new daycare with other 2 year olds and is learning how to be potty trained. The new daycare said they will not terminate but work with the child as they understand it is a developmental stage for some kids and will work with parents to help correct it. It just amazed me how Foundation Success Academy didn't want to roll him over to the toddler course due to his biting, they expelled him, and didn't provide support for him (just found that he was a "problem") when he was 2 months shy from being 24 months! Dad and I were also reading books to him about biting and trying all that we could! Ahhh.. In the end, I am glad that my son is getting the support from a care development center that ACTUALLY is there to support him and help him, along with us parents!

The curriculum offered to the children is very rich and rewarding. Foundation Success is an educational establishment offering early childcare education to children before they begin compulsory education at a primary school. I love the block area dramatic play area, a science area, and an arts area. I look forward to a good year for my children at Foundation Success.
