Last weekend on a trip to Sacramento, I finally had a chance to stop by their Olive Mill and Winery. There is a nice sparking clean outdoor patio with picnic tables within a few steps from the olive oil grove but it was a bit hot that day so we opted to sit inside. In addition to the olive oil tasting set, there were some brunch items such as a crostini and salad as well as a Mediterranean plate with hummus. We opted for the crostini, olive oil tasting and a cappuccino. The jalapeño olive oil was unique and flavorful enough that we bought a couple bottles of it to take home. The pear vinaigrette was thick and tangy. The waitresses were friendly and helpful when we had a couple questions about the dishes. The shelves in the shop area is full of flavored olive oils and vinaigrette as well as ceramic and a whole slew of items for serving charcuterie. If you are a fan of olive oil and are planning on a trip up to Sacramento or Lake Tahoe, would definitely recommend stopping by to check out Calivirgin.

Our guests loved being able to spread out, relax, and enjoy themselves. The wines were a huge hit with our group. My family absolutely loved the Symphony (what I like to call a "beginner's wine" because it's so approachable and easy to enjoy). My personal favorite was the Zinfandel, with the Cabernet as a close second. The Red Blend and Syrah were also excellent. Honestly, all of their reds were fantastic. While I'm not typically a white wine drinker, I appreciated the variety they offer. One of the things I appreciated most was how easy everything was. The beans too - too delicious to be vegetarian - so I didn't ask, and I'll never regret. This place is legit - and I am sorry I ever doubted.
