During the day time hours this park is a solid 5 star area. From sunset on, it's as sketchy as can be. Great places to watch the river pass by and loads of activities for kids. At night the homeless abound and the drug crowd is prevalent.

Classic Spokane. Full of life and awesome attractions. They have a metal garbage goat that eats trash. They have a giant wagon with a built in slide. They have a beautiful brick building next to the waterfall with a giant mural and a delish restaurant inside. Lots of kid parks. Especially beautiful at night.

What a place to visit! Clean! Bright! Well lit at night! Options for all ages! River, bike trails, ice skating, carousel, gondola that takes you over the falls, huge play ground and in an area where you all feel safe!!!

In town for a conference and both nights the evening parties were at Riverfront Park. This is a great space with lots of beauty, attractions and history to offer. My favorites were spending time on the cable car to see the 'falls' and the Pavillion. Super accessible via Lime scooters and easy to navigate on foot!

This park has something for everyone!! Handicap accessible parking and trails lead into beautiful landscaped walkways and bridges. Multiple playgrounds, shady trees for picnics, benches to soak in the river and dam, art exhibits, and informative postings, this is the spot to be. I took 5 of my kids ranging 1 year to 16 yrs to the Riverfront. We spent 2 hours there and had so much still we could have explored. If sky rides and carousels catch your fancy, you can do that too.

During the gondola ride we saw these sculptures

I will say this park offers much entertainment. Sometimes they do art shows, music shows , fairs, markets, etc. Plenty of walking and sightseeing. Loved the waterfalls in September. We did do the Numerica SkyRide (gondola) ride. I'd say it isn't worth the cost, 12ish a person. They should consider lowering the price. Overall, it was fun to visit and they have very beautiful landscaping! Close to shopping and dining.

Riverfront Park is a beautiful park in the heart of downtown Spokane. Riverfront Park has plenty to offer for people of all ages. Playgrounds and a carousel for kids, the big red Flyer wagon too! Miles of hiking trails along the river and throughout the park. For a bird's eye view take a tour on the SkyRide. Catch one of Spokane's warm and sunny days and take a picnic to Riverfront Park or enjoy one of the many restaurants or eateries in the area.

Visiting some family, we decided to take a drive & visit this park we've heard so much about. It is a very nice park & we were delighted to see the geese, ducks & other birds wandering around. The carousal was cute & apparently the hit of the party, it was quite full. Their gift shop was very nice, full of items to have as a keepsake. The Mrs was disappointed to see the smashed penny souvenir machine (2 of them) were out of service. When she asked about them to one of the groundskeepers, he found three smashed pennies & gave them to her! The water feature was very nice on such a warm day. And the shaded, grassy area by the clock tower was a great place to take a break. I don't think you could see the entire park in one day. The trails, the playground & more would keep you busy for quite awhile. Very nice park & great staff.

Our first time here with our younger kids. The park was clean and had a lot of unique features! We walked the bridges in a circle to the opposite side of the water which was also beautiful. Found another huge playground for the kids with a monsterous sand play area. There are a lot of homeless downtown and I expected to see some at the park but it was vacant of any homeless, trash or other. Great place to visit especially with kids!

    A ginormous red wagon!

Let's just start with the most important thing... Come visit! You'll love it! I visited Spokane last week and spent three of my four days exploring the park. Stay at one of several hotels bordering the park and you'll be walking distance to playgrounds, science, a carousel, a library, a tram ride, shopping and many eating opportunities. There are also many geocaches and Adventure Labs in the park - fun for families or individuals. If you come on a Tuesday you'll find an interesting selection of food trucks including Surge Coffee (delish!), a cute blue truck whose owners donate to local charities. I travel alone (I'm 62) and felt perfectly safe there. While you're there be sure to see: *The garbage eating goat *The giant red wagon *The clock tower *The Ice-age playground *The chalk art area under the bridge

This park is in the middle of downtown Spokane and has a lot of family friendly activities, including a carousel and a water play area. There's also a playground on the northern end of the park which has more parking than the southern end. If you are on the southern end there's going to be limited street parking and some garage parking. There is a long path where you can walk through the park and go through a bridge that overlooks Spokane Falls. You'll see tons of those Lime scooters and you'll see people riding them throughout. This is a nice place to walk around with lots of stuff to do.

Worse than they look and these are the only benches under shade at the whole playground.

Great park. Just want to point out that people should use good judgement and maintain awareness here as there is a notable community of folks using the park for drug and/or criminal activity, and/or just mentally unwell people hanging out. A small percentage, but it impacts the experience and needs to be said because the majority of the reviews are glowing which may create a false impression. Last Wednesday from 5pm to 7:30pm at the big playground: I saw a guy not moving, staring into space for 15 mins who was ultimately carted away in a stretcher from an ostensible overdose. As he is being wheeled away a guy walks up and is screaming bloody murder into his phone for a few minutes, yelling about pedophiles and assaults. As the sun sets, the same guy starts pacing circles around the picnic benches chanting loudly about hexes and the devil, casting protection spells ostensibly. He had a tool case set on the bench, inside was a black glass orb sitting on a pedestal. Finally, we go to leave and a group of young people are shouting and swearing so loud I could hear them 2 blocks away. All this within 2.5 hours on a weeknight afternoon / early evening. Suffice it to say the short time I was there was like a greatest hits sample of all the crap downtown Spokane has to offer, and I had my young children with me, because, you know, it's a playground. I tried posting this with more detail, and all the screamed language in quotes, but I think it was getting flagged and pulled down repeatedly. Use your best judgement when visiting the park and be forewarned that it's not a squeaky clean wonderland. You gotta maintain awareness, keep your bags close, hide valuables in your trunk, not engage with weird random encounters etc.

Awesome playground, walking paths, heated restrooms and plenty of restaurants in walking distance!

There was a cool breeze through the canopies on a very warm day and garbage cans to dispose of our leftovers. When we stumbled upon the gorgeous flower gardens, I could not believe it. There were multiple gardeners working outside of the conservatory and although it was closed, I can't imagine that there was anything more beautiful inside than what we saw outside. We were able to sit over at the benches and rally enjoy the fountain and manicured flowers. There was a large, veryrude family that did come through who wanted to scream at their kids and then try to take photographs in front of the flowers like a happy family. Then allow their smaller children to stomp through the flowers and scream loudly while they stared at their phones. And there were of course at least two young ladies posing for "the gram" that picked flowers and made obnoxious gestures in ridiculously skimpy clothes... I guess those types of things can't be helped these days and they are no reflection on the garden itself, just be prepared for your peace to be interrupted. We also made a quick stop at the Rose garden which I did not find to be quite as beautiful but smelled lovely... There were just too many bugs and it was there were just too many bugs and it was far too warm to spend much time there. If I lived closer to this park, I would come everyday to listen to the sound of the fountain and appreciate the beauty of the topiaries and flowers and I would recommend a stop here for anyone who appreciates the beauty of nature.

If you find yourself on campus and looking for a more kid friendly area (aka slides and splash pads) I would recommend a walk on down to the park! It has a large bank of tennis courts (with evening play available due to the lights!). It also has a pool! Many times when I've been here there is some kind of swimming competition occurring in the pool. Last time I stopped by they had some new fitness play equipment for adults. I have an interest in unique playground equipment so I thought this was pretty cool considering the retirement facility located right on the edge of the park. You can grab picnic supplies at the nearby Safeway or takeout from the nearby Thai restaurant and enjoy the beautiful summer weather in Spokane. I frequently see people picnicking here. One really important part of Mission Park that I must mention is the memorial to Otto Zehm. He was a mentally-ill man killed by the Spokane police in 2006. The simple memorial was placed in 2012 as part of a settlement with the city of Spokane. As a community it is important to remember the legacy of Otto Zehm and I think a visit to this memorial is an important visit for any local or tourist.
