Love my neighbourhood park. Conveniently located near the river valley walking path it's a great evening stop to check out how the community garden is growing, respectfully explore the teepee erected each year with proper ceremony (Dene, Cree and other tribal representatives) or swing on a "saucer" in the park. Kids really enjoy the new spray park, complete with water breathing dragon. I do too, but I pretend to supervise our younger family members. It's usually very clean and quite safe.
Heartbreakingly I'm making this revision to my previous 5 star review after someone vandalized the teepee and it's had to be taken down. What an ignorant, foolish act! Everything else is still going well but this one act of stupidity makes the safety issue questionable after dark. And I wonder at the motivation. Please tell me it's NOT about what that sacred space represented. Wanton vandalism - plain stupidity; something "else" - disgraceful. read more
