Everyone was kind and welcoming. Breakfast seems to be the go-to here as it was 12:30pm and most everyone was eating eggs and pancakes in some form. We looked over the menu. We live 5 minutes from here and have been wanting to stop in for sometime. We got lunch. I got a turkey rueben and some onion rings. My wife, not knowing what to get, got a buffalo chicken sandwich on a kaiser roll. The food was up quick. My wife started in on her sandwich but the chicken wasn't hot and the sandwich just fell apart. The chicken appeared to be two Tyson chicken tenders covered in lettuce and tomato. Not even really sauced with buffalo. My turkey rueben was decent. Not the most flavorful and seemed to lack thousand island dressing. If it was there, it wasn't noticeable. The onion rings, however, were good. Crispy and hot. A low key lunch but a little bit of a let down for us. I wouldn't come back here.

On top of that, the waitress helped herself to a tip on two separate checks and kept my change. When I asked for my receipt, she seemed like she didn't want to give it to me. She gave me one receipt, but not the other. I'll never eat there again. The food used to be really good, but now it's just okay. At this establishment, they do not give you back change because the waitress pocket it

Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing in several ways. While we were in the room, there was painting being done nearby, and the fumes were extremely strong. When we called the front desk, we were initially told no painting was occurring, only to later return and find wet paint signs posted. We also had maintenance issues in the room, including a toilet paper holder that was not attached to the wall and a shower that took over 20 minutes to even get warm. We understand this is a historic building, but we did not experience these kinds of issues during prior stays. Additionally, the dining room appeared to have only one server working. She was absolutely wonderful and did her best, but it was clear she was stretched too thin to provide attentive service to all guests. Overall, we still appreciate the character and location of the hotel, but this stay fell short of the experience we were expecting based on our past visits.

There is no room service. While you can order food online from the restaurant, you're required to go down to the lobby to pick it up yourself. On top of that, there is no food available after 10 p.m. The "all-day menu" advertised online is misleading, as it's actually only available during lunch and dinner hours, with no clear times listed anywhere. There's also no ice service as advertised on the property. You have to go searching for it yourself on specific floors (the 4th or 6th). I requested extra pillows at the time of booking, and that request was never accommodated. The building is located on a very busy street, and the noise was constant throughout the night. Between traffic and garbage trucks beeping around 4 a.m., getting a good night's sleep was difficult. The one and ONLY bright spot of the entire stay was the valet attendant, who was incredibly friendly and had a great attitude; easily the best part of the experience. Overall, this stay was a huge waste of money and fell FAR short of the service and comfort I associate with Hilton. I will NOT be staying here again, and you should consider a different establishment if you're looking for a truly comfortable and service oriented stay. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.

The location is close to a number of restaurants and bars including CW's Gin Joint that is five minutes walking. The art museum is also nearby in addition to a couple of Starbucks. I wouldn't recommend walking down to the hockey center which is about 20 minutes walking at least and goes under the Selmon Expressway overpass. Some of the areas in downtown can be sketch so you will need to Uber if you don't plan on driving and parking. Parking, speaking of which, will be expensive whether you are valeting at $45 a night or park in one of the garages nearby. Some I think are $15-20 a day but depends on the garage. The valet at least are fast with getting your car. Overall, the staff was friendly and courteous. Our check in went quickly to grab our keys and direct us to our room that was on the first floor. Housekeeping was friendly and prompt as well. The room was easily accessible from the lobby and close to the pool area. Our bed was comfortable with a fridge, plenty of drawer and shelf space in the closet. Our room had some modern artwork as well. The bathroom was spacious and the water pressure was solid. Although it took a minute to figure out how to adjust the water temperature without scalding yourself. They have a fitness center but it's up on the top floor and can be a challenge to find at first if you don't know where you're going. The signage helps a bit. It's in this spooky hallway where the court reporters were located and juries deliberated. You wonder if there were any unexplained or brutal murders that took place but I didn't feel any haunted presences nor are any brought up as an attraction. So probably not. But the gym's amenities are solid between the cardio machines and the weights available. Towels are available and a water cooler. They have a restaurant and bar that serves all three meals as well as ice cream and coffee. I only stopped there for an extra dirty, which was ok but could have been dirtier. I would stay here again. It's primely located in downtown Tampa and not far from most points of interest.

Our room was nicely fitted- good size, nice modern bath. I also appreciated the reception we received when we checked in. Valet parking was seamless. Breakfast on the second floor ( Sal Rosa) was reasonably priced and provided the fuel we needed for the day ahead. Both meals (ham and cheese omelette and pancakes) were excellent. Overall a great stay- location, service and amenities. Valet service was efficient as well when we needed our car.
