Returning to school as an adult was a big step for me, and this became one of the greatest learning experiences of my life. Even years later, I feel grateful and compelled to write this review to thank Community Business College for its outstanding instructors and supportive staff. Thank you for creating a college where we can truly learn, grow, and gain confidence. I am very thankful for this experience

I know with the way the economy is and unemployment, so the faster you can get education and get to a job, the better. They have several classes that are done in 12 weeks! I recommend this school because it has been a huge help in getting me the education I need, plus a good job. Everyone wins. The medical office specialist course is quite interesting with terminology on one side and full computer on the other, to me. I know they have a full range of courses available, and I know you would be a happy camper no matter what the choice!

I began individual virtual lessons with PLA to learn Tagalog. I have been on the search for…read moreeffective Tagalog learning methods for years, and it took me long enough to decide that individual tutoring may be the only way for me to make progress. PLA's Tagalog tutor Joy is definitely one of the best things to have happened in my Tagalog learning journey. She has extensive experience with educating military personnel, and our focus together has been on conversational fluency. Her lessons are thoroughly challenging and she breaks down grammar concepts in a visual and understandable way. I have also seen her go more slowly for students at a more beginner level. While I still make constant errors, I can feel my progress growing in such a way I could have only hoped for before these lessons. I cannot really speak for any other language classes, but this remains one of the only local Tagalog learning sources in the Bay Area and I am very grateful to have found it! I will keep my eye out for more advanced group classes, as it seems like the academy is consistently expanding their class offerings.

I initially started taking classes because I had planned a trip to Italy for the summer, but after my trip I was motivated to continue. I have since returned to Italy 2 more times. I've taken Italian classes with several instructors including but not limited to Sole, Valerie, Cinzia, Oscar, and Francesca. I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every class. The instructors are knowledgeable, patient, and eager to create a positive and enriching learning environment. Olga has been even more accommodating in light of the difficulties that arose with COVID-19 social distancing protocols, even allowing classes to take place on Zoom. I would 100% recommend taking classes with this academy!

I took an intro French course recently with Celine Val. I really liked the class and our teacher. I…read morethought it was reasonably well structured and that she did a good job teaching us first how to pronounce, then how to read and write. We studied formal and informal. If you have any background in a language I would suggest you refresh yourself and test into something other than the intro course. Starting at the beginning was perfect for me since I have never studied French before, but it was very, very basic stuff. Had I taken that level for a language I had previously studied I think I would have been bored. Pros: - Conveniently located to the 84 and 101 (and Caltrain?) - Convenient times after work - Great way to sample a new language to see if you're really interested in it. - You get to keep the text book (they are used, mine had writing it...) Cons: - When you are only meeting once a week it's really easy to say: "I'll study this weekend." "I'll study tomorrow." "Oh crap, class is tonight, I better study." - Cost - it's roughly $40 a class (give or take) so if you're going to stick with it long term it's going to add up. A college course may be cheaper (though with the way college tuition is these days maybe not?). Private lessons seem to run $30-$40+ an hour, so I think their costs are reasonable. It just adds up over time, which hurts my head when I do the math... - $50 one time set-up fee per student

Erick did a great job of assessing my current level of proficiency and then adapting an appropriate curriculum to advance my skills. We met at the Menlo Park school at times, which is a very easy to access right next to the Facebook campus off of Willow Road. Other times we met at a location we decided upon. The staff at ABC were very helpful in my billing or any questions I needed to get answered. Highly recommend ABC for anyone interested in any foreign language, no matter what level they are in. They will have an instructor for whatever language you are interested in.

My family has nothing but great things to say about Carden. During their time at this school, my children learned skills needed to be successful in both the classroom and in life. At 18 and 15 yrs. old, my children are free thinking, independent, self starters who love learning regardless of the subject matter. They are thriving in their new schools and I give all the credit to the teachers of Carden. Their Carden teachers brought out the absolute best in my children. If you were to ask my children directly they would tell you, Carden prepared them very well for this next stage in their young lives. They are grateful for having had the opportunity to attend Carden and jump at the chance to go back for annual events or even just a quick campus visit. Simply put - to my family, Carden was, is, and will always be home!

We moved our middle daughter to Carden for 6th grade, and I was thrilled by the challenging curriculum put forth by the knowledgable and empathic teachers that work there. The school prepared my middle daughter for the challenges of University High School, and she will graduate from UC Davis as a double major with honors this spring. Additionally, our youngest daughter has benefited by going the whole route from kindergarten through 8th grade, and has really thrived in middle school. I couldn't be happier to have paid for the education they have gotten, and I hope other who really care about their child's education can benefit from this school as well.
