The rough around the greens are also treacherous with the balls sinking deep into the space grass. This makes it hard to find the ball. If you do find it, then it is a challenge to get the ball out. By today's standard, the course is a little shot but still a pleasure to play

There are 36 unique holes but each round is of 18 and costs £7.50 per adult. It can get busy, especially when you have noobs on your crew, but all the other clientele were polite and accommodating which was nice. The holes range in their challenge factor and out of our 18 one had a moving feature and others had little tunnels which could lead to holes in 1. We had lots of laughs which was worth the entry. I won. Lies. OK I came second. Seriously even great golfers might lose out to noobs!

They also have a gift and souvenir shop at the reception. I was in room 112, which was on the ground floor, which is a floor down from the reception. The bedroom came with a private verandah overlooking one of the golf courses. The room itself was very generous in terms of its floor space with a kingize bed and two sets of sofas. There was complimentary water, biscuits, tea infusions, coffee and hot chocolate. The bath room had a separate bath and shower cubicle with Molton Brown brand of cosmetics. The service was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We were supposed to meet clients for dinner in the centre of Derby and were ferried to and fro in a Landrover with the Morley Hayes branding on it. It is by far, one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in and if given an opportunity, I would prefer to stay here again. As with everywhere else, I sincerely hope they continue to maintain their levels of service in the days to come.

Nicely laid out venue so it is easy to get from watching the horses parade round the ring then to the front to put a bet on and to watch the race. It isn't…read morereally an activity that I think of regularly, despite having taken bowling as a course in high school. Yes. You read that right. That's a story for another time. Anyway, when Mr. Snarky suggested we go bowling after dinner, instead of a movie... I was pretty excited. We remembered there was a bowling alley across from where I have my car serviced. From the outside, it kind of looks like a warehouse. For a Wednesday night, they were fairly busy! There is no smoking inside (hurrah!) and it actually looks newer than I anticipated. I don't know how long they have been there, but compared to a Hollywood Bowl that we went to, it looks in much better shape. The staff are very friendly and we found out that they have an offer on Wednesday nights for 3 games and a drink for £12 (per person). For drinks you can choose from soft drinks to a glass of red/white wine or a pint of Tetley's or Carlsburg. We had trouble finding the bowling balls the right weight and with the right sized finger holes (I don't think there is a way I can word this without someone giggling...), so that was a bit of an issue. The lanes look well-kept and the music was a nice mix of new and old music. They have a small arcade game area with air hockey and pool to the back corner. It also looked like they had had a birthday party in earlier, so clearly an all-purpose venue. It is kind of a hidden gem considering it is not grouped in with the leisure park. Will definitely be back for a rematch with Mr. Snarky!

For the Laser Tag parties, I would avoid at every cost…read more We had a party back in October and from the very start was a disaster. Upon arrival, despite arriving on the agreed time, we were told to go and wait in a side room and await a member of staff. 30mins later with 14x bored 9yrs children and many trips to reception, I walked to the laser tag to ask the staff there who asked to wait in the corridor for another 15mins. Eventually we got started, the room had not been cleared from the last party, the member staff proceeded to tell the children he was ill and nearly passed out twice and after a short pre-brief, sent them in and then sat in the corner of the room leaving myself and wife to clear up. During the game, half the children came back with guns not working, but it was left to myself and my wife to find new guns and put the others back on charge. After the game we went down stairs to be told that despite already being 45mins late, there would be a further 30mins delay on the food. After much chasing this end up being 40mins, and by the time the food arrived, the parents had come to collect the children. To top it all off, they managed to miss 1 child completely on the food. We complained to the manager who explained that they were short staff but any complaints would need to go to HQ. After chasing for 2mths we had an offer another laser tag game for the children, which given the location and the logistics of sorting 14 children was not practical, and we instead asked for a partial or full refund. We are now in early January and despite chasing many times for a response, we have heard no more. Annoyingly you pay a premium for a party like this to take away stress as parents, but it was anything but. Although I accept they were short staffed, you have to prebook the parties so no how many people to expect so would expect better planning. Plus the appalling after care service would mean I would never use nay TEN PIN again, as clearly the customer is not the priority. Very disappointing.
