Not tried the golf course but told it is good by those that enjoy the sport! Actually on the river bank there are two pubs. The navigation is the best serving good reasonably priced food 7 days a week. There is a dining area inside the pub and they also offer a bar menu for those who want to sit outside and do it casual. During the summer months you will see barges cruising past. The local swans are partial to a good feed of bread! Child friendly and there is a park on site for them to amuse themselves. The summer months also bring good barbeques on most week end nights.

They also have a gift and souvenir shop at the reception. I was in room 112, which was on the ground floor, which is a floor down from the reception. The bedroom came with a private verandah overlooking one of the golf courses. The room itself was very generous in terms of its floor space with a kingize bed and two sets of sofas. There was complimentary water, biscuits, tea infusions, coffee and hot chocolate. The bath room had a separate bath and shower cubicle with Molton Brown brand of cosmetics. The service was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We were supposed to meet clients for dinner in the centre of Derby and were ferried to and fro in a Landrover with the Morley Hayes branding on it. It is by far, one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in and if given an opportunity, I would prefer to stay here again. As with everywhere else, I sincerely hope they continue to maintain their levels of service in the days to come.

The Clubhouse atmosphere, although sometimes a little stale, is adequate but not astounding.

It…read moreis stunningly attractive, not only because it offers one of the best views of Birmingham but it is situated in one of the most picturesque spots of the UK. The course is shadowed in parts by massive pine trees, jolly green giants towering above you while you balance your next shot. The greens are superbly maintained by a dedicated team of expert gardeners who clearly take pride in their results. All this is put together by a dedicated team on a shoe string budget, I have a friend travel from Oxford three days a week to play at the Lickyhills 130 miles round trip, says a good a test as most private courses nearer home, with the course condition not far removed. My first visit for Heaton Park Golf Club and first team actually in Heaton Park. Didn't play…read more"proper" golf but played some pitch and putt. We were lucky with the weather and that it wasn't too busy. Decent course I think, although not much to compare to. Its a Par 3 course so all holes were par 3. The car parking cost £1.50 - although after playing golf, we went to another part of Heaton Park and parked in another car park - but kept the car park ticket/token so didn't need to pay again - although there was no one there to check anyway. Back to the golf (pitch and putt). We went on weekend so was £6. You can hire clubs - was told beforehand it was £10 but he just instead took some ID had and kept that. Golf balls were 50p each but he just lent us a couple each. We came around 2 on a Saturday. Bit too busy. Only a couple behind us and they played similar pace. Was a group in front of us with father and 2 young children - had to wait for them a bit but no too bad. One of the issues with Pitch and Putt - especially with people not that good at golf (Inc. me) so ball could go anywhere! Any direction, any distance. Sometimes I hit it about 5 meters, sometimes more like about 40! When we finished was much busier. 3 groups including a group with about small small children. Saw one group overtake them and just skipped a hole.
