Over the last couple years. The service has gone downhill here. They are constantly getting new groomers and you don't have a consistent experience. At the time you get somebody who doesn't know what they're doing and the other half of the time it looks great but it's just not consistent. Now I went and visited with the owner there and got up charged for silly things that I've never been charged before before despite going there every month for probably five years. Myself and many other customers are looking for a new place to go. You probably should too.

On this occasion, I was told the delay was due to flooding and traffic, but it was only light rain--and it quickly became clear these were just excuses. When a groomer finally arrived at 8:00 AM, I asked if they were scheduled for 7 or 8, and they told me they always start at 8. So why was I booked for 7 AM? To make matters worse, when I asked if my dog would be taken next, the manager initially said yes, but after a conversation between the groomers, she changed her story and claimed they had 8 AM appointments ahead of mine--even though my appointment was at 7 AM. It was frustrating and confusing. I had to request to the customer directly if it was ok if my 7am appointment could go first. There was also a dog in a crate in the back crying for over an hour--yet another example of poor care and lack of consideration. As I waited I saw 4 more dogs get dropped off all for appointments that already had multiple dogs waiting for the two groomers. Honesty and communication are essential in any business, but especially one where people are trusting you with their pets. The manager not only gave misleading information but also consistently fails to respond to messages or communicate clearly--except when it comes to offering excuses that aren't true. I won't be returning.

She does a fantastic job at a reasonable price and in a reasonable amount of time. One of my dogs was VERY frightened of grooming because the groomer I had before Paw Spa was cruel to him (unknown to me until he had already been hurt and traumatized) but she was patient and gentle with him and he gradually lost a lot of his fear. He was still nervous, but she wasn't impatient with him about it. She moved to a new location a year of so ago and her place is even better. With the current virus thing going on, I don't know how long it will be before my dog can see her again, but we'll wait!

Bathing is done by Tasha, and I would swear she is bathing a newborn because of the way she talks to the dogs, the concern and compassion she has if they are older dogs, and she doesn't "just" bathe them, she massages them, makes sure that the dog's fleas, if any, are completely gone, she bathes them from stem to stern, top to bottom. I've known her, when I am bringing in my spoiled border collie, to have 16 dogs to bathe, and yet she smiles and always has a kind word for the dog coming through the door, as well as the dog's parent. Billy, the groomer, has the biggest heart for all animals, especially dogs. I think he would prefer to go to doggie heaven than the heaven where we are going! Such patience, amazing kindness, and expresses love to each dog he is working on. We have boarded our dog many times, and he comes home happy and tired... tired because Bill has taken time to go up to the shop and throw the ball until he wears our dog out, and that is very hard to do.
