The sweetest store. We got multiple different flavors and cookies, my dad is in love with their caramel cookies. So good! I got ice cream and coconut chocolate bites, just omfg!!!! Everything is very sweet and flavorful. We're even thinking about getting a few pieces with us back to LA.

So excited to find a location in Key West! Some of my absolute favorite pralines. This location definitely lived up to expectations. Pralines were fresh and warm with just the right level of sweetness. Staff greeted us and gave us samples right away! Cute store too.

The ongoing pandemic has definitely taken a toll on a lot of businesses and public places since a consumer's mindset to buy anything outside of essentials or to visit a public place like a park or beach, has crippled down significantly. Now by living with what has become the new normal, it is commendable on how these businesses and public places continue to remain open and cater to the general public by following the safety standards. It is now all the more important that we as customers, support these heroes during these dark hours to mankind. We stopped here just going by how inviting the entrance looked and the iconic "World Famous" tag that's attached literally to anything that you find in Keys; Here it was the "World famous Pralines". The baker/person who was at one of the counters offered a sample Praline which was just out of the world, to be honest and that even egged us to buy some more of those. The shop had a galore of desserts, sweets and candies that were even stored in large barrels, like we were in Willy Wonka's territory. Everything was sweet until this point except when he pointed out a very gender stereotypical remark when I was pulling out my wallet - "So it's always the woman deciding and the man paying huh?". We were awestruck by how proud he looked with his comment. I wanted to leave the place right away but my wife insisted that we pay for it as to why blunt a business for a dumb employee's sake. So we still paid for the pralines and were on our way out. I would have rated this place a 5 star if not for that ignorant caveman who thinks it's still the Man's world!

Salted caramel and peanut butter gelato

Instead of getting dessert at the restaurant we had dinner at we wanted to get gelato. We first stopped somewhere else, only they had ice cream and not gelato. We were so excited to come to River Street Sweets and see so many great selections of gelato!! (Yes, we know our gelato. We ate our gelato way through Italy.) Get a taste before you decide - we did ... and then ... we ended up getting two smalls. Peanut butter and salted caramel. We loved having them together. The staff was so nice and helpful. We checked out all of the chocolate candies, hard candy, pralines they were making and so much more. They even offered us a tasted of the praline!! Such a great end to a great evening!!! Highly recommend their gelato!!

A super fun candy shop on the main strip through the Key. They have vintage style and modern candies, along with some handmade chocolates and ice cream in the back. They were making fresh chocolate turtles when we came in and it smelled great! We didn't end up getting anything as we didn't want it to melt in the car and we didn't want to eat it right there on the spot. The staff was busy working on cleaning and making chocolates, so we weren't greeted, but it wasn't a big deal and they did smile and nod at us as we looked. Overall: A A fun little multi-option candy and ice cream spot on the main shopping road.

Open kitchen, don't hesitate to ask for a sample!

Delicious wafts of chocolate and caramel greet you from the doorway, and the temptations of warm rich sweets draw you in. By the entrance, you can watch as someone makes a fresh batch of one of their desserts. You can also ask to try a sample and they will give you a generous serving. Their pralines and turtle logs are fantastic. In the back is their house -made ice cream and gelato ranging from traditional to more experimental flavors like watermelon and pina colada. The staff were all very friendly and happy to talk about their many desserts. Great stop for visitors with a sweet tooth.

Exceptional gelato and pralines! Everything is made fresh in the store, they're offering free samples & shipping; the displays are inviting. Hard to come in and resist, so we didn't! We enjoyed Savanna's Pralines on River Street in Savannah, Charleston and they were just as good here in Key West.

Do you like candy and ice cream? This is the best on Duval street and we have been to many, if not all of them. The pralines are loaded with pecans. Also they had a half price basket with candy that was broken, but turns out it was only the bag that was a little bent, the loggerheads were are intact inside. Also their ice cream is sooooo good.

If I could bottle up this stores scent and wear it as perfume I would. While I made a direct line in to the ice cream I was craving, I passed a ton of fudge and homemade desserts. While looking around and sweet woman gave me their menu where I found out I can ship these sweets as gifts!! From now on for bdays and celebrations I will use them to mail all sweets. Great company.

Say Hi to Cynthia when you stop by, she's super friendly.

As we were walking by River Street Sweets we were greeted by Cynthia who enticed us with a sample of the praline treats. I thought, ah it's just a praline...how good can it be? All I could say is AMAZING! I tried to take a picture of the praline, but I ate it before I remembered to snap a pic :( It is quite pricey, but this is Key West. Cynthia, thank you for making our experience so wonderful!

There's a European air and flair in the place, with items I've never come across in other shops, and I love that! There were lots of scented items, and I love how she had glass cloches over the individual scents, since I am scent-sensitive. I was afraid when I walked in I might not be able to take it, but it wasn't overpowering. There were so many home and gift items in here, I could have easily dropped 10x the amount of money I did If I'd brought a bigger suitcase. From the delicate new and vintage jewelry, to the frameable greeting cards, to high end teas (daily sample available), and cotton frocks sprinkled throughout, I felt like I could have spent two hours in this small shop and still not have seen everything. Yet, it doesn't feel overwhelming, because the merchandising skills utilized here just made it a pleasure to wander this way and that, admiring all the little touches. Honestly, it is an exemplary shop. I'd rank this in the top 5 shops I've ever visited anywhere, and I wander into a LOT of shops! This is a must if you are in Key West. You can get a cocktail anywhere, but these elegant displays and thoughtfully curated products are not to be missed!

Luckily we didn't have to wait, but every table filled up quick after us. The waitress was awesome rushing around across multiple tables. We placed a huge order all upfront, because we ordered a bunch of appetizers that were 50% off during happy hour, plus multiple types of oysters. I love the smoked fish dip and the sweet lips apps, which are cream cheese filled jalapeño poppers. My husband got wings which he loved it came with 10, for only $9. My father got Conch ceviche and Conch Fritters, both were very delicious, all 50% off. We also got a dozen of Louisiana oysters on happy hour price for $2 each, and Canada oysters on happy hour price for $3 each. Also got garlic oysters, which were not on happy hour. All were delicious. The oyster shooters are soooo good, IMO Much better than the neighboring oyster bar down the boardwalk! I was impressed that kettle one vodka is also 50% off during happy hour, for my husband who doesn't like to drink beer! We came with a larger party, so we all were able to try several items on the menu. To be fair, no one in our group tried the raw oysters, but we did have: drinks, appetizers, salads, and a variety of items off their dinner menu. The calamari and crab fritters were just okay, with the tomato dipping sauce being weird. The entree's were very disappointing. My daughter ordered the Rib Eye, which was paper thin 1/2" or less and flavorless. My wife had blackened grouper topped with crab, she felt the fish was fresh, but lacked any flavor enhancements that could make it better. My son ordered the fish sandwich which he said was just okay. We split a green salad that had one tomato, the lettuce was not cut, the croutons were stale. I ordered the Garlic Shellfish Combo. The combo was supposed to have clams, mussels, crab, lobster, shrimp, corn on the cob, red potatoes, garlic Cuban bread. I had one edible clam, the others did not open, it had 2 shrimp, three potatoes a crab claw in a garlic broth. Everything was Luke warm at best. The server smiled briefly but was curt with our large party. This is a popular place, but I don't get the hype. I'm hoping maybe next time I come to Key West to visit again.
