River Run is about 20 minutes outside of Lousiville. It contains a baby pool, a kiddie section (about 3 feet deep), a big pool, four slides and a lazy river. Concessions are available and take both cash and card. Its a fun place. While smaller than I expected, its still great for all ages. Prices for out-of-state residents, however, are steep. They check ID's. Ages 1 and under are free. Everyone else-$15 per person. A family of four spending 2-3 hours at the pool-a minimum of $60!!!!! Yikes. Also, NO outside food or drink is allowed. They actually check your bags before you enter. In my case, I had to throw away my bottled water and throw out the Goldfish snacks. There are lockers that can be rented but I am unsure the cost of those. Rules were unclear...I was told different rules for the Lazy River by four different lifeguards. (In regard to sharing an innertube with a 5 yr old). Seems they should post rules for guests and lifeguards so guests arent repeatedly being misinformed. I was told we MUST share a tube and I was told we could absolutly not share a tube. Concession food tasted awful and no healthy options available except for a Dole fruit cup. Its a really cool place but it was annoying to be searched and told to throw out unopened food and water and definetly overpriced. Also, the unclear rules were a pain. I enjoyed it but there are easier and less expensive places to go swim for a day.

Deep water Dive is an intense, nerve racking and very fun body slide ride at the hurricane bay…read moreportion of Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, Kentucky. This massive body slide is one of the worlds largest and is 12 stories tall and features a 377 foot drop with 121 feet of it coming at a 70 degree angle. I've rode this body slide multiple times and each time it doesn't get any less nerve inducing. First off you climb an insane amount of steps. For those who count steps you will get them by riding this ride. At the top you have a platform that offers beautiful views of the city and park. However on some days with a slight wind you will sway back and forth which adds to the thrill and unsettling feeling. The workers put you in a plastic tube casing and you stand up against a backboard with your arms and feet crossed. Below your feet's is a clear see through floor that will momentarily be removed from underneath you. As stated the first half of this slide is practically straight down. So if you fear heights do not look down. The machine has a 3...2...1 countdown but that isn't what triggers the floor being opened. The operators hit a button so there is no timing and bracing yourself for the fall. Some workers have some fun with it and drop you at different parts or pretend it's stuck and then let you fall. They of course still make sure you are in there properly and safe. The drop itself will literally take your breath away. Most of the time by time I can recollect my thoughts or breath I'm on the backstretch at high speeds and water is splashing me in the face. I personally love this ride. The epitome of a thrill ride. As stated Above. If you or your little ones do not do heights or scare easy then this isn't for you. It's no fun climbing the steps and I can imagine it wouldn't be fun climbing back down if you get up there and decide against it (happens a lot). The ride itself does have a min height requirement of 48 inches and max weight of 300lbs. It is a single rider so you are by yourself. The first time I took my kids alone I was stuck with "do I go first and hope they don't chicken out or do I go second and hope they don't freak out at the bottom or wander off". So just some things to consider before riding. Overall 5 star experience for me. Fun, thrilling and my absolute favorite water park attraction in the hurricane bay section. If they got me an elevator lift to the top id be more inclined to ride it back to back to back.

Pretty fast moving roller coaster that is mainly just hills. Nothing too crazy. Pretty fun ride even though it's kinda basic. It's I believe the newest coaster in Thai this park as of this writing and it's a solid addition. A bit different from the others they have on site. So it's nice to have variety.

This coaster was super fun it's ride time is about a minute long so it's not crazy long but not too short too it's just right for anyone especially the little ones because it's deemed as a family coaster because of it's shorter than average height requirement so with this you so know it's going to become a favorite amongst the younger crowds. This coaster really surprised me with how fun it was I was not expecting as much airtime as this had it made for a super fun and just all around enjoyable the four times I rode it in the front middle and back as well as in between! The coaster is kinda in the back of the park close to where the majority of the water park sits so definitely seek it out when you visit because it's totally a fun new ride that everyone will enjoy! Overall this is a great new addition to Kentucky Kingdom that's sure to put a smile on your face so all I have left to say is enjoy your flight!
