Took my kids to this park to go skateboarding and it's never too crowded which makes it nice for beginners or novices like them. So they don't feel real intimidated and have a good time. The ramps and things aren't too steep either so it makes nice for them to learn the skills of skateboarding. Overall pretty nice park that the kids have a lot of fun at. It is surrounded by other fun activities like walking trails, a baseball field and some full court basketball courts. Cool little community area that's safe as it literally is connected to the police station.

The skate shop is really nice and things are priced fairly. Pre-built boards are roughly $100. To have Floyd put one together for you the price is dependent upon what you choose for your board. I got a Real deck with Independent trucks, Street Scoundrel wheels, and basic black grip tape and it cost me about $150 after tax. You also get a free skate class or free admission for your next skate session when you purchase a board. After trying the board out it's definitely the best I've skated and well worth the price. Riot offers group lessons, private lessons, and even hosts a ladies night on Wednesday for $5 admission. The store carries everything you'd ever need to skate, refreshments, and clothing. When visiting Riot, you'll feel welcome, you'll find good quality wares, and most importantly, you'll have fun while supporting a local business!

My 3 older daughters love to come here to roller blades, skate board and ride scooters. The park as mentioned is very nice and rather large and has sections for intermediate skills and. Beginners like my girls and more advanced areas for the future Tony hawks of the world. Overall very cool area that my kiddos have a lot of fun at. Good and different activity for the youth of the area to participate in.

This park starts off with numerous baseball fields which I assume that little leagues use throughout the summer. Spread out around the park are a few small children's playgrounds. The organized sports and fun for the kids: Check! Near the middle of the park there is this decent sized pond with a fountain. Also ducks! Lots of ducks! Different ducks! Friendly ducks! Did I mention there are ducks? Benches and swings are all around the pond. It's the perfect place to take a daytime date to relax. Date/Nature/Pond: Check! On one side of the park and out of the way you'll find a small skate park. It is tiny and they really should expand it for the skaters in the area. They have more than enough room and it's hard to find great places to skate. Alternative activity space: Check! On the other side is a paved path that circles the park. It's a great path, but I wish it wasn't just a flat and winding path. They should install more trees or other things to admire. This path is surrounded by grass and only grass. I think this park could benefit from more trees, plants, and flowers. There is a gazebo on one side of the park in this area. There is also a dog park tucked away. The only reason this park gets a 4 instead of a 5 is because of wasted space. There's a lot of underutilized space that could be made beautiful here. I'm surprised anytime I talk to someone from the area and they have no idea that the park exists. Everyone from Danville and the surrounding area should use this park! No excuses!

Plenty of walkers, runners, bikers, dog walkers, recreational users (frisbees and kites), tailgaters, and drivers today. We stopped to catch a break near the top of the hill at Hogan's Fountain.
