From first view the course looks awesome, then I played it. Fairways were nice, greens were fast…read moreand the rest of the course was filled with white dandelions. I lost 8 balls in 18 holes. 2 due to bad shots, the rest We couldn't find. My buddy found 8 balls, get the picture? I hit a par 3 green that bounced off the back. 10 minute search, no ball. Not sure if the greenskeeper is incompetent or they can't afford it, but I saw no maintenance workers the entire time I was there. At the turn I mentioned the dandelion issue, I got, "Any in the fairway". Next we have the course itself. There are no flat lies excluding the tee boxes. You can hit a great tee shot only to end up with a ball 10 inches above/below your feet. Excluding the 13th hole, no signs directing you to the next hole. Drove around several times trying to find where the next tee box was. Sand traps were hard dirt or mud, typical of central Ohio. Finally, if it's your first time playing the course, nearly every hole has a blind tee or approach shot. Ditches, ravines, water hazards everywhere. The scorecard is useless for course layout, hazards, etc... Little hint, drive past the tee boxes go to the highest point on the hole, grab a range finder and get your yardage. It will either be uphill or downhill factor that in. Grabbing driver on every non par 3 will kill you. Not playing the course again, would rather have my wisdom teeth pulled.

Nobody was ahead of me for at least 2 holes. When I made the turn there were 2 groups on 10. They said they werent going to play 18 but decided to so they sent them off. I was waiting at least 5 minutes for each shot. I had time to practice chipping and putting on most greens. Coming to 16 I waited 20 minutes so I picked up and quit. Was very frustrating.

This is a gorgeous state park!…read more The hikes were pretty, and the map is so good and so clear! It was easy enough to find our way around using the map. The visitor center is beautiful and new with 2 EV car chargers in the parking lot. Clean bathrooms, interesting things to see, and live animals that you could see in the park. The lake is gorgeous. We went to the beach, which is under construction and was weird to go to while the bathrooms, parking lot, etc are under construction and there were so many workers and big vehicles around. But the beach is open, and it's a nice beach. I wish we had rented a pontoon boat in the lake, that looked beautiful. Now we have to go back so that we can go on a boat there!

My friend said they had slushies before this so we asked for slushies and they said we didn't have any. So I jokingly called my friend a lier and they thought I was talking to the employee. The manager came out and said not to talk to the employees like that. When I explained myself I said "I'm sorry. I was talking to my friend not her." And I thought it was cleared up because it was just a misunderstanding. Me and my friend got a chocolate milk shake and a blue raspberry ice cream cone and the ice cream cone tasted like it was just dyed blue. And when we got them we said thank you and the one lady said "Yeah" and the other said "mhm". Mind you we are a lot younger than the employees and we felt it was very rude of them.

The grocery store was a great stop for snacks. They had some delicious pies. At least the cheese and blackberries one I had was delicious. And since the crust is great, I would imagine they were solid choices. They had a nice selection of Amish popcorn and maple treats too. The gift shop is large and has a good selection of items. The yard decor and patio furniture were all fairly impressive. Some things were even Buckeyes themed! The leather goods were the other highlight. I thought the rucksacks were great and had me wishing I could take a hobbit adventure But, the highlight for my sister was a real/ nice belt that she is excited about. My highlight was the pecan turtle I had for dessert. It's a great spot in Amish country and the service was very pleasant.
