Weeks later the painting and repair was not done, he had resorted to requesting early payment, would show up to work only part of a day and then vanish if paid a portion of the money. Said he would hire a subcontractor to help with the work, but in the end seemed to possibly have used his girlfriend on a single day. The quality of the paint work (though unfinished) was extremely poor, with overspray everywhere that never got cleaned. When we complained about the overspray of the latex paint, he claimed he would clean it up with paint thinner (impossible) but then never did.

He could have done more work, but recommended leaving some of the trees that I thought were not healthy, but he let me know that they actually were in good shape, just needed some pruning. I would have considered them if they ever provided a quote, but they never did, even after calling them several times. I would have only given them 1 star, but they did provide some good advice, just no follow through. I just don't get it with some of these tree service companies.
