Our entire experience with Belknap was terrific. From landscape design through execution. We wanted our landscaping to feel natural, informal and cottage like for the entry garden to our cabin. My wife and I had a general idea of what we wanted, but Hayden proposed a design with large scale rustic pavers creating a meandering path surrounded by large rocks reclaimed from our property and appropriate plantings. The design has a perfect balance of natural elegance that we were looking for. I mentioned we were concerned about water in our basement from runoff due to our new addition. Hayden resolved this by adding a perforated perimeter drain with a river stone drip edge, which looks great and works perfectly. All of his employees were professional, collaborative , skilled, and genuinely nice people . They worked in well coordinated teams. From procurement , to the guys that laid out the grade, selected and placed nice stones, and the planting team all went above and beyond to make a great product. They collaborated with my wife and I throughout final selections and placement of plantings. The whole process was enjoyable. You can see everyone enjoys what they do, which makes a great project. As an architect myself it is breath of fresh air to see someone in the construction industry do quality work. Belknap bought out Carroll County Landscape in the fall of 2020 where I had been satisfied for years. Not knowing what to expect I was not only pleased but thrilled with the comprehensiveness of their services. I no longer use Bartlett for my trees and a sole proprietor for my irrigation. We recently had a very small (approx. 20 x 40) area landscaped with plantings of flowering trees, flowering bushes, ground cover, and large decorative rocks. The Tree Crew was at my house recently for a major tree removal project and I must say that I was very impressed! They were extremely professional, worked very hard and left the work areas spotless. One of the trees was a 100' white pine that posed a significant risk to our house. The removal of that one tree required a high level of technical ability and nerves of steel by the Crew. THE BEST OF THE BEST ! My elderly sister had a HUGE pine tree fall on her 1930's cottage. The owner went right over to check it out. Early the next morning he had a full crew there to lift it and remove it. They were done by noon. lt seemed like a miracle and l was EXTREMELY impressed. They found a large rotting tree and returned later to remove it. l decided to have them remove 8 trees close to my home and power line. They did a SUPER job. l will NEVER call anyone else for any future tree work ! read more
