Pulled in for breakfast around 10 and left full and happy. I'm a driver of a 53' van, so a good morning meal matters, and River City Grill delivered. Got the Florentine omelet packed with veggies, hashbrowns crisped up just how I like them, and a short stack on the side that hit the spot. The real surprise: they don't charge for coffee at breakfast. Alyssa took great care of me, friendly and quick. The dining room is roomy with a cozy, old-school vibe. Nineteen bucks for all that food is a deal. I'd stop here again.

My huckleberry compote cheesecake was heavenly, my two friends loved their fish and chips. And we had two delightful waitresses. The young one (Tammy) was friendly and fast; the older lady kept our coffee filled! Great food, incredible service!

The breakfast was outstanding! And Julie (the Waitress) was so nice. My coffee was always getting refreshed

Cherry pie, crust good! Filling seemed canned. Ok

We really enjoyed it. Friendly service. Cute atmosphere, like an old train station meets cabin vibe. We liked the down home dinner and decided to come back the following morning for breakfast before leaving town. All was good! Try them!

I went here as a guest with a local who says she eats here all the time. She said the service is always great and the food is always good. It wasn't any different today. She also warned me that the servings are very large and splitting is the way to go. So she got a side of 3 scrambled eggs with salsa and then we both enjoyed my tots and toast. Even with sharing there were leftovers. This means great value for my money! I really liked the flavor of everything and appreciated that they got the tots extra crispy as requested. It's a convenient stop for them in route from Seely Lake to Missoula, I'm happy she thought of stopping here.

Excellent home cooked meal! My server Cindy gave me a sample of their tomato soup and that made up my mind. I ordered the full meal of meatloaf which came with mashed redskins potatoes and homemade baked beans. Everything was scrumptious!

Wow, that corned beef was probably some of the best I've ever had. There's not a lot of places around the Missoula area that I consider good or even rave about but they are doing things right here. Huge portions, I had to stop myself from eating all of it so I could have the rest for breakfast tomorrow morning. The blueberry muffin that came with it was also delicious! I can't wait to come back and try different things.

I had this breakfast no egg, hash browns sausage and 1 large busicut . I ordered side of gravy no extra charge and it's the bomb!!

We did end up having to wait about 40 mins for a table and like other reviews, the price point was a little high for Montana. But we are glad we tried it. The place itself is so very very beautiful. Our server knew we were on a time crunch and was so great about getting us our food and check. I ended up getting the Ranchers Benny and hubs got the shakshuka. I arrived right when they opened, yet several seats still had crumbs on them. The service was quick, though not overly warm or welcoming. I also found it odd that the drink menu is printed separately on paper instead of being included on the main menu--it feels less polished than the rest of the space. As someone who eats plant based, I'd love to see vegan items clearly labeled on the menu and at least one more substantial vegan entrée option. I ordered the Powerhouse Overnight Oats for $22. They were actually quite tasty and surprisingly filling. However, at that price, I expected a little more. The chia seeds were dry rather than fully hydrated, and consuming dry chia seeds on their own is generally discouraged because they absorb liquid after being eaten. One final suggestion: please include menu prices on your website. It makes it much easier for customers to decide before visiting.

I discovered this as we (a couple) patiently waited in line to order on a busy night when another couple who arrived after us grabbed the last available table - prior to ordering. After ordering our meal with drinks, we were told to wait for seating in the (very brightly lit) market across the hall, but we could not have our (alcohol) drinks there. When I asked the staff how we could be assured of the next available table where we could actually drink what we paid for, they were at a loss for an answer. It felt awkward and stressful to have to lurk for a table and compete with other diners who came after us, after dropping $50bucks on a meal order. Management should devise a better plan. The meal itself, and the wine and beer selection, was lovely. We each ordered the carne asada salad and it was hearty and tasty. The staff, in typical Missoula fashion, was friendly. I would return, but next time will dive for a table before I place my order.

When we arrived, the host told us there were no tables available inside -- despite the restaurant being completely empty. When we asked about the reservations supposedly filling the place, she simply said, "Trust me, they're full." We offered to order quickly and keep our visit short since we had young children, and her response was that we "probably aren't your atmosphere then" if we wanted to eat and leave.

It's a huge hangar type space filled with locals bustling in for their morning coffee. My typical way to know if I'll like a coffee shop is if their cappuccino is only offered in one (or two) sizes. (525) is worth a stop for the building alone--that curved corrugated-metal shell, the tangle of Edison bulbs strung across the high ceiling, and a sunny little patio out back make it one of the more distinctive coffee spots around. The service was friendly and quick. I ordered at the counter and had my drink in hand in no time, with genuinely nice folks behind the bar. The menu has some fun, unexpected touches too--the mint cold brew is a standout you won't find everywhere, and it's refreshing without being gimmicky. The pastry case is where they really shine. House-made bialys, savory danishes with coconut greens and pork belly, sweet danishes with black tea and roasted rhubarb, plus a rotating lineup of cookies and tea cakes. Everything looks like it's made with real care, and the bakery side (Grist) clearly takes the craft seriously. One heads-up: there's no WiFi. If you're hoping to post up and grind through a few hours of work, this isn't the spot for it--plan on a shorter visit or bring a hotspot. For a quick, high-quality coffee-and-pastry run, though, it's a winner. Come for the architecture and the mint cold brew, stay for the bialys--just don't expect to get much emailing done.

This problem started after they opened online ordering, and added more options to the menu. The last 3-4 times we've gone: we'll place an order online. It'll say "ready in 20 min." We live all the way across town, but when we arrive 20 minutes later, *no one has even started our order yet.* So we ask. THEN they print it, and get the naan or roti started from scratch. If we've ordered a non-buffet item, they just get started then. Sometimes they get mixed up and give our naan to another customer, and have to start over AGAIN. By the time the food is ready, it's another 20-30 minutes. Then we drive home. So the whole process takes us 70-80 minutes from ordering to bringing food home. Everyone behind the counter looks confused and stressed, there's a lot of walking back and forth, and as a former process manager, I really just feel like they need someone to help them FIX THEIR PROCESS. I wish I still ran into the owner sometimes; I'd mention it to him. We're SUPER sad. I miss proper Indian food, and this place really hit the spot. But we just can't spend 80 minutes every time we want it. I hope they can figure this out.

I also really appreciated that they offer several vegan options. I ordered the Creamy Blue Smoothie and the Banana Walnut Oatmeal. The oatmeal was absolutely AMAZING--perfectly cooked, flavorful, and easily one of the best breakfasts I've had here. It's the item I'd recommend to everyone. The smoothie was good overall, but the fresh mint was a bit overpowering and left an aftertaste for me. I think it would be even better without the mint or with less of it. I also appreciated that they use compostable straws, although mine was cracked when I unwrapped it. Later, I came back for lunch and ordered the half Brussels Caesar Salad with the vegan protein. The vegan protein (chickpeas and lentils) was delicious, and the half portion was surprisingly large. I also liked that the dressing came already tossed throughout the salad. One thing I found a little confusing was that the Brussels Caesar uses a vegan dressing but is topped with cheese, so I'd be curious what substitution is offered for guests ordering it vegan. The bread was good, although the butter was served very cold and was difficult to spread. A few suggestions that could make the experience even better: * Add a larger "Basal" sign above the entrance to make the restaurant easier to spot. * Install a large wall-mounted menu inside for easier viewing. * Keep tables and chairs wiped down throughout the lunch rush. The restaurant was spotless during breakfast, but by lunchtime several tables and seats needed cleaning. Given the price point, I'd expect a bit more attention to dining room upkeep. Overall: good atmosphere, friendly staff, and good food. I recommend the Banana Walnut Oatmeal.
