The kids waited in line for about 25 minutes for the ride to breakdown; when this happens, they do not accommodate them by fast passing them later or anything like that, they are basically just told tough luck, try again later. A locker big enough to fit a backpack will run you $17.

On the day I visited it was 103 outside by mid day I couldn't take the heat anymore and came here to cool off and get my hair wet I must say it was a totally refreshing way to escape the heat of the day! They have a good number of waterslides here as well as having all of them be completely different from the next one definitely the highlight of the slides has to be Thunder Rapids Water Coaster as it's the first of its kind in North America and wow is it fun I've never ridden a slide like this before and I found it to be super fun as well as Wet and totally unique to anything I've ever experienced before as the technology that created this is totally rad and a great way to knock out those huge stair cases! The ground here can get super hot I mean super hot and that's coming from me someone who's always barefoot at waterparks so make sure you bring some sandals or something to keep your feet cool from the burning cement or just try to walk in the shade and water spots to keep them from burning! As anyone who visits waterparks will tell you coming to one can be a great workout as well as a rewarding time as your climbing lots of staircases and getting some swim action in if you choose to do that wile your inside their huge State Of Texas shaped wave pool. The waterpark opened a bit later than the park but it was all good as it was super hot by then and this was much needed the best part about this is that Gold Pass members can get into the Water Park 10 min early so that will definitely save you a bit of time and get you on a few more slides! Overall I really enjoyed my time here at the waterpark as all the slides were fun and I thought it was cool that their wave pool had its unique Texas shape to it as it made for some fun waves and splashes! This review is mostly for the Aqua Glow event, that takes place from 6 - 11 pm. It overlaps a…read morelittle bit with the regular Aquatica general admission hours that typically end at 7:30 pm. Before the end of general admission hours, my sister and I were able to purchase the last 2 trays of fish to the feed the stingrays before Aquatica ran out by early evening :) ! We absolutely loved Aqua Glow because the majority of visitors from the daytime have gone home, and it's a lot easier to really enjoy the water rides and the pools without dealing with the crowds :) ! We could go on rides multiple times without waiting in long lines, and enjoy the pools without constantly bumping into other people :D ! And when the fluorescent lights come on, the entire water park is truly awesome and amazing to admire all lit up :D ! While we were standing in line for Sting Ray Falls (which for us, was a really short line), we had such a spectacular view of the Sea World fireworks :D ! You can walk barefoot throughout the park if you want to. But I personally think it's much better to have water shoes or sturdy waterproof sandals because not all pavements are smooth. However, you just have to keep in mind that you can't wear flip flops or certain shoes on the water rides, and may have to hold onto them (which is a hassle) or you can rent a locker and lock them up. Most of the small and jumbo lockers were taken. But fortunately, we were still able to rent a large locker (which is obviously bigger than a small locker, but smaller than a jumbo) for $42, and access it multiple times until the end of our rental. If time permits before Aqua Glow finishes on Sept 5, we would absolutely love to come again :D !!

I was surprised to learn that parking is a whopping $40 for standard parking & Covered parking is $70! My littles and I walked over to the front gate where the security guards were checking the guests bags, which I appreciated. There was a security guard, whose name I will not post, but I will post his initials GV. He was rudely shouting at the guests to move forward or "get out of the way because you're blocking the line" and "move it lose it people".... In my opinion, Seaworld is very much for younger children (despite them offering a few roller coasters). This type of attitude toward guests should not be allowed, and it should certainly not be the first thing people hear when entering the gates... I was there with my two toddlers. I certainly don't want someone yelling at me to "hurry up or get out of the way." That not something you tell a mom who is trying her best, or any family that just paid $40 for parking + $79 per single daily pass, at MINIMUM . I think he should be talked to and reminded he's not a bouncer, but rather a security guard at a kid/family friendly establishment. We arrived early, so we didn't have to wait long to get in, nor did we have an issue finding a seat. Surprisingly, there were plenty of seats available from open till we left, about 2pm. I was appalled at the price of popcorn (+$11) and the taste was terrible. It was HIGHLY BUTTERED AND SALTED. They sold me on the bucket because it's $5 for refills, but that's still a very high cost for popcorn. Next time I will ask them to make fresh stuff with little to no additives. As it is, it's A terrible snack for kids who are out in the sun all day. The water and ice were free, but you have to find a designated stations for it, which can be difficult for any person, especially those with littles. I think it should be more readily available for guests. I appreciated that the park offered different sections to appeal to the population. There were not many tubes at the lazy river and we sometimes had to wait a while before getting one. I would love for their floats to have bottoms so the littles can sit and enjoy. I, also, appreciated that the lifeguards were available in abundance and seemingly took their job seriously, as I didn't see them playing around or talking and such. I loved the family restrooms and the cleanliness of the restrooms because I understand it can be a challenge in Waterparks. Overall, I would go again and recommend it, but I would caution against the excessive unnecessary costs (parking & snacks/drinks). Overall, my score is based on the security guard at the entrance, and the extremely high cost of everything... which I suppose is expected at a waterpark. I did not get photos because I wanted to respect the privacy of the attendees.

The pros: to start the experience off we showed up around 1045am (15 min before opening) and there was plenty of free parking, which was amazing! All of us were able to get a free spot and honestly that's a bonus for a place like this. Most places have you paying for parking. Security was quick and easy and the fact you can also bring your own coolers and food and drinks is also amazing as most places do not allow that and force you to purchase their overpriced items. So this was great. I love eating healthy so I was able to feel good about my food that day. The park (we went to both east and west side but spent most of the day on the west) was well maintained and fairly clean from what I saw. The beautiful oak trees and plenty of picnic tables that you could set up your stuff on was also nice. We sat near the river and it was the perfect place to set home base and enjoy our food. Loved how it was also set next to the pool. Whatever playlist or dj they had that day was awesome. 90s R&B was on the loud speakers so that was right up my alley. :) My friend lost her phone in the wave pool/lazy river and someone turned it into the lifeguard and we were able to retrieve it from them. We appreciated the honesty of whoever found it and also to the lifeguards for holding it for us. Cons: the unfortunate part of the trip was the lines. My goodness. Average wait time was up to an hour each ride. We were there from open to close which was 8 hours and we went on 4-5 rides. So needless to say this was a bit of a bummer. For $60 we would have wanted to get more action for our money. This is why I gave the park 3 stars. The workers did seem a little young and also one of them was fairly rude. A friend of mine were trying to get a tube and the worker stopped me and said I'll get it. And then threw the tube at me. ------- To be honest I know there were a lot of reviews from people who have been here from years and years past who are disappointed in the way this park has headed. While it's sad to hear I only know what I know and I'm used to long lines at other theme parks so it seemed pretty on par. However, if this place used to have shorter lines whatever is needed to get back to that would be appreciated and honestly would bring more business to this park as I'm sure people will continue to avoid this place if they have to wait in line 1-3 hours per ride. So I hope management changes things. I could tell some of my friends weren't too happy with waiting in line so long. Over $100 per person for a fast pass is absolutely ridiculous and robbery if you have more than one person in your group. There has to be another way. Thankfully I was just so happy to have a girls day with friends that I kinda overlooked the long line times but I'm sure had I not been in such a happy mood-it would have been a big buzz kill. They run through the summer season for a few months daily, then switch to weekends only in the late summer. I would advise getting there as they open to get the best parking - we arrived around noon a couple weeks ago and had to park at a lot that was a little less than a mile away. Not so bad for just the two of us, but a lot harder for those with coolers and bigger groups. The parks are amazing - so many fun tube rides, body slides, and some faster tube blasters that are so much fun! I especially like the double rider tubes in Schlitterbahn east, like the Black Knight. I highly recommend the Fast Pass - it is a steep price but well worth it for accessing more of the rides. We felt like the regular fast pass was more than enough as we didn't have time to access all the rides once throughout our day. We also only visit once per season, though. It's been pretty crowded on both of our recent visits - Saturdays in July and August. I would guess it's less busy during the weekdays. We got to ride the Falls (worlds longest tube ride) on our visit in mid-August but they shut it down for the rest of the season the day after we went. All in all definitely worth visiting at any age and very family-friendly. You can rent a locker for your belongings and some folks keep their coolers on the tables by the larger pool areas. You can bring in food/drink or purchase in the park and they have Dippin Dots!

First, I want to say how truly appreciative I am of SeaWorld for offering this opportunity and allowing our family to enjoy the park with complimentary tickets. It was a very thoughtful gesture, and it meant a lot to us. We visited during the last week of July, and if you know anything about San Antonio summers, you know the heat can be brutal. Unfortunately, we happened to visit during a heat wave, so the combination of high temperatures and humidity was intense. We had my mother with us, who is handicapped, along with two younger children who are not used to that kind of heat, so we weren't able to stay as long as we originally planned. The biggest highlight of SeaWorld for us was definitely the animal attractions. We really enjoyed seeing the crocodiles, tortoises, flamingos, beluga whales, dolphins, and orcas. Those experiences were what made the visit worthwhile, and my kids absolutely loved seeing the animals. We especially appreciated the covered and indoor areas because they gave us a chance to escape the heat while still enjoying the park. The beluga whale show was a great break from the temperatures, and the orca show was another memorable experience. One thing I was surprised by (although I know many theme parks are similar) was the pricing for food and beverages. We stopped at Harbor Market because we wanted a break from the heat, some air-conditioning, and a chance to sit down and eat. Unfortunately, the air-conditioning seemed to be struggling when we walked in, so it wasn't quite the cool break we were hoping for. SeaWorld is a cashless park, so if you bring cash, you have to use a kiosk to transfer it onto a card. The kiosk does charge a fee for the transfer, which I believe was around $3.95. The food prices were definitely higher than expected. They do offer an all-day dining deal that works across SeaWorld and Aquatica for $59.99 per person, but for a family, that adds up very quickly. Especially considering the food options are pretty basic things like burgers, cheeseburgers, chicken tenders, hot dogs, and similar theme park-style meals. They do have some Asian-inspired options like orange chicken and sweet-and-sour chicken, but overall the food was nothing that stood out. The beverage system was also interesting. With a meal, you receive one drink, but the cup is activated through a QR code at the fountain machines. Once you use it, you can't simply refill it again, which was surprising. I understand that parks may have had issues with people abusing unlimited refills, but it was still frustrating not to have the option for a refill, especially in the middle of a summer heat wave when staying hydrated is important. The Harbor Market food area itself could also use some attention. The floors were sticky, and the tables and seating areas could have used a better cleaning. I understand theme parks are busy and maintaining large dining areas is challenging, but keeping those areas clean would really improve the overall experience. The gift shops were what you would expect at a theme park cute souvenirs but definitely overpriced. We did stop and get Rita's lemonade, which was a nice treat and helped us cool down. The ride lines were another thing to consider. If you're planning on riding the roller coasters or other attractions, expect some longer wait times and plan your day accordingly. They also have a splash pad/water area where kids (and adults) can cool off, which was a nice feature, especially during the summer heat. Overall, I would give SeaWorld San Antonio about a 7/10. I don't dislike it, but I wouldn't say it was a perfect experience either. The animal attractions were truly the best part and are what gave the park its higher rating for us. My kids loved seeing the animals, and we are very grateful we had the opportunity to visit through the Veteran Appreciation program. I would definitely recommend visiting during a cooler time of year if possible because the Texas summer heat can really impact your experience.

I was confused as to why this was happening, but quickly came to realize that the Final Four was in San Antonio that same weekend. Welp! To the Hyatt Regency Hill, we went! We booked this hotel because it was listed as one of the more kid friendly options in the area. Again, "one of", aka the third best. As soon as we arrived, we headed to the pool and lazy river, which were fun, but I was pretty annoyed at the 48" inch requirement for the water slides. Our 6 year old son is 43" and has done much bigger slides at other water parks and even at our community pool. 48" was definitely overkill. Positives: We definitely enjoyed, and took advantage of having a full kitchen, washer/dryer and an actual bedroom with a pull-out couch in the living room. The property itself was definitely very nice, overall. Negatives: The bed was way too soft for our liking and the pillows were cheap. And the shower door would catch on the tile every time you opened it. I would not hate a situation where we had to stay here again, but I wouldn't seek it out.

Third year at Camp Fimfo -- and unfortunately probably our last…read more Our family has come here three years in a row. This year we booked four days at hundreds of dollars per night. Our nephew is almost four and has ridden the small red and blue slides in the interactive children's water playground during each of the last two years. They were the main attraction he was excited about returning to. This year, after we arrived, we were told he suddenly must be 42 inches tall to ride them. So somehow he could ride these slides when he was younger and smaller, but cannot ride them now. We absolutely understand legitimate safety requirements. What we don't understand is this: The enormous full-size water slides at Camp Fimfo also have a 42-inch minimum. So the little slides in the children's water-play structure now have the same minimum height as the massive elevated water slides. Perhaps there is a legitimate safety explanation for that, but from a customer's perspective it makes very little sense. Even more frustrating, while sitting here today we have watched children who appear to be our nephew's height -- and some who appear shorter -- being allowed down the same small slides. If 42 inches is necessary for safety, enforce it consistently. If this is a new restriction, clearly disclose it before returning families spend substantial money booking their trip. We called the front desk before posting a review to give Camp Fimfo an opportunity to address the situation. The employee was cordial. Their proposed solution was a free ice cream. After spending hundreds of dollars per night on a four-day stay, an ice cream doesn't address the problem. This isn't about demanding that Camp Fimfo ignore a safety rule. It's about clear disclosure, consistent enforcement, and reasonable treatment of returning customers. Watching an almost-four-year-old try to understand why he could ride his favorite slides when he was younger and smaller, but can't now -- while similarly sized children continue riding them -- is incredibly disappointing. We returned for a third year because Camp Fimfo had earned our family's business. Unless this is meaningfully addressed, there won't be a fourth.

A very special shoutout to the Recreation & Activities Supervisor, Kim Wertens! She was amazing--so patient, resourceful, and truly went above and beyond to accommodate our group of 90 people. She worked with our preplanned schedule and helped keep all the kids entertained, which made a huge difference for everyone. We would absolutely recommend this place to friends and family and would love to come back again!
