I was surprised to learn that parking is a whopping $40 for standard parking & Covered parking is $70! My littles and I walked over to the front gate where the security guards were checking the guests bags, which I appreciated. There was a security guard, whose name I will not post, but I will post his initials GV. He was rudely shouting at the guests to move forward or "get out of the way because you're blocking the line" and "move it lose it people".... In my opinion, Seaworld is very much for younger children (despite them offering a few roller coasters). This type of attitude toward guests should not be allowed, and it should certainly not be the first thing people hear when entering the gates... I was there with my two toddlers. I certainly don't want someone yelling at me to "hurry up or get out of the way." That not something you tell a mom who is trying her best, or any family that just paid $40 for parking + $79 per single daily pass, at MINIMUM . I think he should be talked to and reminded he's not a bouncer, but rather a security guard at a kid/family friendly establishment. We arrived early, so we didn't have to wait long to get in, nor did we have an issue finding a seat. Surprisingly, there were plenty of seats available from open till we left, about 2pm. I was appalled at the price of popcorn (+$11) and the taste was terrible. It was HIGHLY BUTTERED AND SALTED. They sold me on the bucket because it's $5 for refills, but that's still a very high cost for popcorn. Next time I will ask them to make fresh stuff with little to no additives. As it is, it's A terrible snack for kids who are out in the sun all day. The water and ice were free, but you have to find a designated stations for it, which can be difficult for any person, especially those with littles. I think it should be more readily available for guests. I appreciated that the park offered different sections to appeal to the population. There were not many tubes at the lazy river and we sometimes had to wait a while before getting one. I would love for their floats to have bottoms so the littles can sit and enjoy. I, also, appreciated that the lifeguards were available in abundance and seemingly took their job seriously, as I didn't see them playing around or talking and such. I loved the family restrooms and the cleanliness of the restrooms because I understand it can be a challenge in Waterparks. Overall, I would go again and recommend it, but I would caution against the excessive unnecessary costs (parking & snacks/drinks). Overall, my score is based on the security guard at the entrance, and the extremely high cost of everything... which I suppose is expected at a waterpark. I did not get photos because I wanted to respect the privacy of the attendees.

My 5 year old had a wonderful time, exploring all the options she had. I was so excited seeing how much fun she had running from pool to pool. It was a rainy day, so there was plenty of parking and we walked up to the ticket check in. It was nice that there was a dedicated lined for strollers. We purchased the meal plan which made it worth it for 7+ hours with a party of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids). There were plenty of dining options and the food was pretty food considering it's a theme park. There were very specific rules stated by some of the attendants on the slides. My cousin was told once he reached the top of the slide that he was not permitted to because there was a zipper on his swim trunks. This was confusing because I did not see on the FAQ's that zippers were not allowed on swim trunks. Besides that, we had no snags in our day. It was raining on and off throughout the day, which was nice because there was an overcast, with was nice because it was not too hot. Overall it was a very fun day. If I lived in San Antonio, I would definitely purchase the season pass because it's very reasonably priced.

It's not even the place my now-adult kids remember loving. Let's start with the entry process. Metal detectors, bag and cooler scans -- no problem, I'm all for safety. But can we get an actual system? Instead, you've got one person at the start giving one set of instructions, another mid-line changing the plan, and a third at the end doing something completely different. It's chaos before you even hit the water. Chick-fil-A or H-E-B could fix this in about five minutes, promise. Then there's the "wave" pool. Waves? What waves? It's just... a pool. The giant wave river on the newer side? Once an absolute blast -- now basically a lazy river with occasional ripples. (Cue the middle schoolers screaming like they're being attacked by sharks at the tiniest splash. No, Cindy, shrieking at a small wave is not the personality trait you think it is.) A lot of rides and rivers are down or hard to access, and my hunch is staffing. Honestly, I'd happily pay $5-$10 more on a season pass (or a couple bucks more per ticket) if it meant staff could be paid better and more rides stayed open. It looks like they're building high dollar cabanas, so I'm hoping that, with them bringing in more money with those, staffing wages and incentives can improve. Here's the thing: I'm not giving up on Schlitterbahn. Not yet. At 55, I'm perfectly content floating the lazy river for a few hours, hopping on the Conga when I can, and making my $99 season pass pay for itself. (Ten trips this year -- worth it!). To add, with my season pass, I also get access to Six Flags parks. So I'll be enjoying those this fall, winter and spring, once the temps aren't such that you melt. lol I get it, things change. But I'd love to see more effort put into restoring the rides, fixing the entry process, staffing properly, and keeping the magic alive for new generations. Schlitterbahn doesn't need to be exactly what it was -- it just needs to feel like it's worth the splash again.

We lucked up on getting onto a few rides back to back with little to no waits when we arrived. The torrent River/wave pool in blastenhauf now requires live jackets- if you are 18 or older you can take valid ID to guest services and sign a waiver which excludes you from life jacket requirements! 2 rides I was disappointed in - the dragon revenge- longest line there was- instead of standing at the top of the side where there is water to keep you cool- you stand way at the bottom waiting for a tube (seems they only have about 15 tubes total) ride moves slow and we nearly got stuck! Also HILLSIDE! My favorite ride- they added these jumps for the first 1/2 of the ride where it makes you go super slow- and your butt is dragging over ever hump making it a very uncomfortable ride! The last half of the ride is great and just as I remember- besides not going through the missdle of the locker room anymore. Some of the slides also showed thier age and like they never get thoroughly cleaned when not in season. I love you can take your own cooler for non alcoholic beverages and food so your not eating and drinking fair food and drinks all day while in the sun. Hoping my next visit is just as great as this one!

There were rides available, but my nephew wasn't interested in getting on any of them. I did want to try the zip line, but the wait was about an hour. What I lreally liked about this place is that it includes children or adults with special Needs. I have another nephew who has down syndrome and he would love this place. Also for moms who are on a budget you can bring your own snacks. Parking is free and easy, which made the visit even better.

Our king sized room was roomy enough for 2 adults and a teen. Very clean and room service came by to freshen up the room daily. Simplicity of everything being charged to your room but that can add up quickly as almost everything here is a separate charge. Parking is separate charge- if no parking in self park lots- you have to Valet. Self park lots are a trek so beware! Grounds are extremely well kept and beautifully peaceful. Lots of available activities for all ages. Water park admission included and the warm temperature was so nice even in a little rain and not full blown summer Texas temperatures. Be sure to complete the longhorn scavenger hunt! Room service for breakfast was phenomenal as we didn't have to leave and be with any crowds and the set up was full of everything we needed and asked for. All food and drinks were tasty and delicious! Definitely hope to come back again

There was noise in the middle of the night due to construction -- you could clearly hear people working. In my room, hot water was only available between 12 AM and 6 AM. There was also a huge event happening, with extremely long lines at the bell center and only one person assisting guests. At one point, another guest even stepped in to help because the young man assisting everyone had to leave briefly to get more paper forms. When I asked the registration counter if additional help could be provided, I was told the event staff were contracted and "not theirs." Still, better communication and coordination ahead of time could have made a big difference. That said, kudos to the event team members working the front lines -- they were absolutely amazing despite the situation.

While some of that debate may still exist, I was pleasantly surprised by how much there actually is to do & how fun & engaging the scheduled shows are. SeaWorld ended up being an absolute blast for me & my family! There was so much going on that it was hard to know where to begin. We went to the beluga & Pacific white-sided dolphin experience, then the sea lion talk where we watched the sea lions dance & do tricks, which was really fun. One of the highlights was the Imagine Ocean puppet experience. It was a glow in the dark, super immersive, & honestly magical experience for me & my kids. We also went to the orca encounter, which was such a delight. They have splash zones & it was hilarious watching the killer whales jump & flip in the air while the crowd got unexpectedly soaked at certain moments of the show. Also be aware, if you plan on sitting in the "splash zones" during the whale, dolphin, or sea lion shows, I suggest wearing a bathing suit under your clothes & bringing a small towel because you will get soaked depending how close you are sitting in the front. However, the splash zones are clearly labeled on the seat backs so you will know whether you are considered within range of getting wet to determine whether that's a good fit for you. We sat in the splash zone on our first orca experience but farthest back of the splash zone & still got a good soak, but the folks down at the front were drenched in water. When it's a hot day that sounds refreshing, today when we went it got quite windy & cold toward the evening so we opted to steer clear of any & all splash zones. They have a huge playground area for kids, which I'd estimate is great for children under about age 12, plus a separate playground for the younger little ones. There is a wide variety of food options like ice cream, burgers, cupcakes, & carbonated drinks. I would describe the food as pretty mediocre, & it is definitely expensive. You are allowed to bring water bottles into the park but no outside food or drinks. We brought my daughter's sippy cup with milk & a backpack & no one questioned it. I definitely recommend bringing a backpack so you have somewhere to keep your belongings, although the park does offer lockers near the entrance if you do opt to store your stuff. I also suggest downloading the SeaWorld app. It's super helpful & easy to use as it gives you up to the minute daily schedules of what events & shows are happening by the hour. There was also a plethora of rollercoaster rides for those who enjoy a thrill! Even though we did not ride any of the roller coasters this visit, it was still fun watching people climb up the massive tracks before the big drop & hearing everyone scream with excitement as they flew past. The way the park is laid out puts you pretty close to many of the rides, so you get a great view of them even if you are not riding. If you think you will go to SeaWorld at least twice a year, I would suggest going with the annual pass. More bang for your buck. A single day pass starts at $50 & goes up from there depending if you add a dining experience to your day pass. Right now during spring break you can get the basic adult annual pass for $99, which includes access to their aquatic park. Kids under 5 are currently offered free annual park passes. We grabbed two for our kids. The free kid passes do not include the aquatic section like the adult pass does, but you can add that for roughly $39.99 per child before taxes, which is still very reasonable. With the basic annual pass you do not have to pay for parking, & there are higher membership tiers that include dining & merchandise discounts that may be worth the cost depending on how much you plan to eat inside the park because the cost of food & drinks add up quickly. For example, we bought one electrolyte drink like a Powerade & it was about $9. A small Dippin' Dots ice cream cup came out to almost $15 after tax & tip. Something else to know is that every time you check out at a register there is a tipping option. I usually tip because I worked in the service industry before so I have a soft spot, but I can understand how it might feel excessive when every single purchase asks for a tip, even when someone is just ringing you up for a drink. My advice is to eat before you arrive so you are not relying too heavily on park food. Also definitely bring your water bottle. Overall it was an amazing experience, especially for the kids. They were thrilled by the whale, dolphin, & sea lion shows. It was entertaining for the adults too. We laughed a lot & had a great day. Giving SeaWorld 4 stars because the cost of food & drinks is egregiously expensive when you take into account tipping for every purchase. Costs add up quickly even with having a pass. That said, we will definitely be back.

But $17.99 for a single slice of pepperoni pizza is just insulting. Lucky they allow you to run to your car and re-enter and therefore you can bring a sandwich in a cooler (for lunch/dinner). Or hit 7-eleven on the way in like I did. The coasters are world class. I recommend the following rides: Scream, wonder woman, Superman, Batman, Joker, Gully Washer, Iron Rattler, Road Runner Express, Dr Diabolical, Poltergeist, and Chupacabra. I had no wait over 10 minutes for any ride all day on the Monday of Fourth Of July week with the exception of Gully Washer which was about 40 minute wait and worth it to get soaked on a really hot day!! Most of the rides I just walked right on up to the ride and jumped on. Also I don't understand...why does EVERY ride have cubby holes to leave your cup/bag while on the ride, except for Gully Washer where your stuff will get all wet? Thank God I had ziplock bags for my stuff that couldn't get water on it. BTW....Negative points for not making it clear that it costs an extra $10 to go to the water park if you got a day pass. Like you're not already spending enough money...sheesh. The kids running the rides are mostly very enthusiast and a great face for the company. The girl at the gate of Scream was really excited to explain the technology behind the 250 ft drop ride since she was an engineering student. But on the flip side the staff in the drink and food stands seemed less than thrilled to be working at the park.

We are here for my son's birthday, mid June, so you would think everything would be on point! We got here and noticed immediately that the Batman was down. The boys opted for wonder woman, waited in line for about 30 minutes before the ride broke down and they did not get a chance to ride. This repeated itself multiple times throughout our visit: we would wait in line, in the heat for an unfathomable amount of time, just to be told the ride was no longer working and to go find something else. A water tube ride, the Pandemonium, and another that I didn't catch the name of. It also seems that there are multiple attractions that are simply not open, and like I said, we are here in June, not the off-season. Another thing to note is that there is absolutely no shade in the water anywhere you can swim. A woman in the wave pool was trying to protect herself from the summer sun with an umbrella, and was told she could not have her umbrella. As someone in Texas who has already had skin cancer myself, this is really not acceptable. We got the boys baskets of french fries, as the only other option at the food place we went in the waterpark was $20 chicken strips (they were out of $20 hamburgers) and the servings were so sad. There was clearly a deceased animal somewhere by the walkway at the waterpark we could smell every time we passed by. And as soon as it hit 5 o'clock, the GNATS!! oh my God, they were just everywhere. We came prepared to spend money today, with 5 of us; I'm not trying to be cheap. But for the amount of money everything costs, the experience just does not match up. If we wanted the main experience to be a wave pool, we could have done that much cheaper elsewhere. This was my son's birthday and I wanted so badly for everyone to have a great time, but this fell so short.

Beautiful grounds, mid vibes…read more Out of the hyaat vacation clubs, this one is epic. It's amazing and sprawling. Lazy River, 2 slides,spas, etc. it's amazing. There's one difference: the staff. They're fine, not terrible. Yet, It has been my experience, at other hyaat clubs, that the staff is kind, friendly, and welcoming. They make it a party. Here they're kind of cold. No, hi, good morning, how are you's. The games are low key, whereas in the other ones the staff are hyping the kids up. More than once, I've felt like I was bothering them simply asking for towels. Every Heat vacation club has its own vibe. And overall they are all amazing. I just think it's a climate thing. It's honestly great here if you make it so, just don't expect the staff to join in the fun.

I was in no hurry to book our accommodations and just kind of got around to it eventually, where I was sad to see that our top two hotel choices were completely booked. I was confused as to why this was happening, but quickly came to realize that the Final Four was in San Antonio that same weekend. Welp! To the Hyatt Regency Hill, we went! We booked this hotel because it was listed as one of the more kid friendly options in the area. Again, "one of", aka the third best. As soon as we arrived, we headed to the pool and lazy river, which were fun, but I was pretty annoyed at the 48" inch requirement for the water slides. Our 6 year old son is 43" and has done much bigger slides at other water parks and even at our community pool. 48" was definitely overkill. Positives: We definitely enjoyed, and took advantage of having a full kitchen, washer/dryer and an actual bedroom with a pull-out couch in the living room. The property itself was definitely very nice, overall. Negatives: The bed was way too soft for our liking and the pillows were cheap. And the shower door would catch on the tile every time you opened it. I would not hate a situation where we had to stay here again, but I wouldn't seek it out.
