Fischer Park is a neighborhood favorite that embraces the natural landscape and critters. The walking trail winds through trees, around the lakes, and flowers too! This is not an athetics park which is wonderful! There is a splash pad at the top of the hill with swings and a jungle gym. read more

This is a really nice park. It is well maintained. The walking paths are paved but they are designed in a meandering kind of way. Virtually no straight lines when you're walking around this park which makes for a really nice experience. The park is on a hill. For those people who may like to walk or jog with a little bit of an incline it is very nice. But if you are looking for a more leisurely stroll then parking near the Natural Recreation Center will allow you to do lapse around the pond without too much of an incline. In the mornings you can find a lot of people there walking their dogs. The playground is that the summit of the park. It is very nice and has a water area for hot days in the summer time to cool off. All of the structures at this park are very nicely designed. The pavilion would be a fantastic place to host an event along with the open amphitheater that's a long sided. read more

You can kayak, go fishing and see lots of beautiful flowers, butterfly's and lizards everywhere. The gift shop has refreshments, souvenirs and lots of local information. My husband and I absolutely love this park!!! I actually prefer it in some ways over Landa. The bathroom facilities are a bit nicer, and the park has an abundance of running trails. I love how we can get our miles in by branching out into the surrounding neighborhoods. Lots of kiddos and places for them to play at this park. Everything was really clean when we, and they also have vending machines. I thought this was a nice touch, especially when it is hot outside. They have a splash pad as well, which again, would be great for kiddos, or even us after a long run through the area in the summer months. Neighborhoods surrounding the park also seem nice, so I feel the area is overall pretty safe. We have already went back several times, and will be going back again many times in the future!! read more

I really enjoy this park. It is large, with a lot of parking, covered picnic tables, restrooms and open space. My favorite thing is that it sits pretty high up on a hill and you can see a lot of the city (even Schlitterbahn) from here. There is a garden area, I think a classroom area for kids (haven't really looked into it), a fishing pond, a splash pad, a library box (take a book, leave a book), a large playground (one for older kids and one for younger) that are both protected by a foamy ground (no major falls here). The best part are the "trails". I say all the time I will run them to see where they all lead, but procrastination isn't my middle name for nothing! I say "trails" but they're more like paths because they are paved...well at least the ones I've run on and planned to run on. You can definitely get more than a 5k in here, just bring sun protection because there is little shade. This is definitely something New Braunfels has needed for a long time, and now that we have it, we need more (and more trails- but the real thing)! Definitely worth a stop whether you are a local or passing through. read more

Ever wished when you were a kid to have all kinds of fun that you can get at a regular park, water park and roll in green pastures all at once? Well this is it! Without paying for the price of three parks at once, you get this amazing dreamy place for kids any time you like for free! As a parent if your going by yourself, make sure your wearing a bathing suit for all the fun, with a change of clothes for you and your kids, sun block and towels. Come dressed for the fun, as there are bathrooms but none with AC so you don't want to get caught waiting in the heat with all the kids in the sweaty bathroom, lol. Also this place is tucked away from streets so it makes a nice scenery and don't have to worry about your kid running into traffic but it also means no restaurants around there for miles...That being said, If your craving it, bring it with you or prepare to be there early so you can get a bite to eat on the way out. Definitely be prepared with your snacks and water for you and the gang! I can't say enough about this park, I just love it! Apart from being aesthetically beautiful, with its green grass and beautiful gardens; (let's keep it like that) it has running trails all around, there are different size pavilions to stay out of the sun and or organize parties with your family or friends and as if it weren't enough, the 'dry playground' might be safer for kids if they fall because of the rubber flooring they have in some areas. Doesn't mean they won't get hurt, just means it's a whole lot of different kind of fun with different kinds of fun for everyone in the family. Just be prepared to have an inmensurable amount of fun in the sun in New Braunfels! read more

Fischer Park is one of the great parks in New Braunfels! There is a large splash pad with several kinds of water features, including a huge bucket that dumps water all over! There is a hiking path that is about 2 miles long, and a small, man made, pond area that you can walk around and enjoy. This park also has to playground areas, one for smaller kids (about 5 and under), and one for older kids (5+). There are lots of grassy hills that would be excellent for a picnic, and offer a fun view that is elevated enough to see the neighboring areas. There are covered picnic tables and a large amphitheater as well. This park would receive a full 5 stars if the water feature had more shade. The smaller play ground areas are shaded, but the large water area is in full sun. This does make it more challenging to visit during the hot summer months. read more

Wonderfully kept park with amphitheater, charcoal pits, zero depth splash pad, hike and bike trails, lots of room to run, very cool climbing feature, overlooks the city, lots of parking, nature garden and learning center. Parents beware the splash pad concrete is VERY SLICK it's designed BAD and Safety was not in mind when they built this splash pad 9 years ago.I have been to MANY splash pads and this one I will NEVER go to again.Our young GS slipped landed on his back his head slammed into the hard slick concrete and we ended up in the emergency room. read more

Brought my 5 & 9 here on a Sunday around 3 and they had a splashy blast for over 4 hours! It wasn't too crowded and we found a table in the shade right away. The splash area isn't particularly large, but that makes it easy to keep an eye on the kids. They weren't on top of each other and never complained about anything, so I think it was just right. There's 3 playground with the nice rubber ground cover that the kids can play at as well. Restrooms are large and stocked. We had excellent, free fun, so I would recommend! read more

Pretty nice park with fishing ponds, bbq pits, kids splash pavilion, and plenty of climbing activities for kids. I like how the monkey bars and all the climbing facilities all have thick rubber pads that are about 2 feet thick below the equipment, in case a child falls. There are signs everywhere reminding parents to watch their kids. One thing I didn't like: the covered pavilions can be rented. Now there are about 8 of them with most being small with about 4 picnic tables to sit in the shade, and there is a huge one with about 20 tables. Today, the ranger asked that big pavilion to be cleared because someone rented the whole thing for a birthday party. It was 12:30 and right at 98 degrees. There was nowhere else to go for the people out of the sun. Our niece and nephew had a ball at the splash pad, then we took them to play video games at Peter Piper. read more

Great place to take your kids. My kids love to play on the huge playground and love the splash pad in the summer. I walk our dog around the trails and enjoy every bit of the beautiful scenery. Decided to try this place out for fishing. the park itself was nice. bathrooms were clean. Only saw small fish in the water but it's pretty murky once it gets deep. I only hooked a turtle that was eating my bait. lots of turtles also saw a couple of water moccasins. One of the had to be at least 4 ft long. They don't have any grills in the park that I saw. and the don't allow you to bring your own. I would not fish here again. read more

I have got to say I love this park! It has a butterfly garden, fishing pier, giant sand box, splash pad, playgrounds and amazing trails. The park is always clean and well maintained. The splash pad gets pretty crowded even on week days. The hours are 9-6 for water play time. Otherwise the park is open sunrise to sunset. Great place for the family. read more

I wasn't to impressed. I heard so many people talk about this park but to drive 30 min out of way it was not worth it. Sure the splash pad was nice but not huge like I thought plus there was hardly any seating (or benches around the actual splash pad and playground) and even less shade! Also the new rope play structures parks are putting up are horrible. I get older kids like them but what about younger ones?? And the structure was burning hot as well. read more

Both of my girls had a great time here! We spent our time at the splash pad. The splash pad is very clean, from the picnic tables to the bathrooms. We loved the landscape, the large rocks around the splash pad were perfect for sitting & relaxing. My only complaint would be that more shaded areas are needed. We didn't stay long, only because it was packed with people. We will try to visit during the middle of the week next time. read more

My kids had a lot of fun today at the splash pad, the kids enjoyed the environment, hospitality and friendliness of other kids there, it seemed like the perfect place for people of all age to go. I would see adults getting wet with their children and having a good time. That's pretty cool. The only thing I didn't like was some adult had this big drone, flying around hovering watching all of the kids, at one point scared my 18 month old son (it appeared to chase him a little bit). At first glance it looked fun and cool to see, but then it became an annoying buzzing taking pictures of everyone type of thing, heck the drone would buzz around at high rate of speed over head of all the children, I was worried that it might fall and hit someone on the head, eventually the adult put it down and put it away, for that, I was willing to let it go. Drone operator- if you read this, I understand it's a cool thing and all, but on the other hand, the splash pad is a kid friendly place, intended for kids to run around freely, splash and have fun- there's no need for you to have a drone hovering overhead increasing the risk of harming or possibly seriously injured a child, please be considerate next time. :) other than that, the place is awesome, clean, and a good place to bbq, there's bbq grills, and gazebos, even 150 yards away there's a kitchen-like island with large roof for a large party that you can place a bouncy thingy for the birthday party and kids still have a lot of things to keep themselves busy & having fun. read more

This park is one of the best parks in New Braunfels. Now it's not as filled glorious as Landa Park but one everyone should be able to enjoy. A lot of variety when it comes to taking walks. It's also connected to a number of smaller parks you can also enjoy incase this one is ever too full. Restrooms are always clean! Be careful if you ever come on a hot summer day... parking is limited! I truly enjoy visiting this park I just wish they offered swings as well. read more

Fischer park is clean and has a lot for the kids to do! There are always Park Rangers walking around to keep order and that makes you feel safe! There's a larger playscape for older kids and one for younger children. The splash pad is fun but there's no shade and too much lag time for the water bucket to drop. In between time, the sprinklers are like misters when there are a lot of kids. I think there are 4-5 pavilions that you can reserve for parties and one Grand Pavillon so other families can enjoy the park for the day. Overall it's a fun park for kids if you lather them in sunscreen because their play areas (especially the splash pad) have little to no shade. read more
