My daughter recently visited for a long weekend and really wanted to go to Aquatica. It is a well kept park and the staff was very welcoming. We had lunch here which was good and fairly priced as far as water parks are concerned. On the downside, 4 of the rides were not in operation the Sunday we visited. I am unsure but assume it was due to staffing. Also, the website said they opened at 10:30 when in reality was 11:00. I did go on one water ride but mostly lounged in our rented cabana or floated along the lazy river. There were a lot of abandoned tubes floating alone in the river which I personally think should be removed by the staff as it causes quite a bit of congestion. We stayed for maybe 4-5 hours which was plenty between the heat and squealing kids. I had a nice time but I was also glad it was included with our Seaworld season passes.

Great time at SeaWorld Aquatica! We came early to get into the park and were able to take advantage of the space. Although there are plenty of chairs and beach loungers, but shaded areas come at a premium at these "break from the Texas sun" locations. Getting there at gate open times at 10:00am helps in securing those choice spots for free. There are also loungers and cabanas for rent at $80/$300 respectively. The kid enjoyed the many water slides, but were totally mesmerized with the wave pool. When the slides were closed for inclement weather, the wave pool was the last to close. As the park vacated because of the weather, my kids waited out the rain out, and were the first back into the wave pool. They were also the first ones in line to get onto the slides when they opened, too. It was an awesome time at this water park. Each slide or area had an ample supplement of life guards. The staff was super friendly. You have access to foods, drinks, and ice creams. It's touchless, so you can pay with your device, if you choose. Tip 1: Get there early. Stake a respectful claim on some chair real estate. Enjoy the slides early, prior to the lines. Tip 2: If you have the option, military have one complimentary entrance (and up to 4 dependents) per season under the Waves of Honor program. Tip 3: If you're in SA, remember that it only rains for like 10min, then it'll stop. Have a great time at Aquatica. We totally did.

This place is just so so. Staff is young and relatively unhelpful, employees clearly lack leadership and guidance as processes (lines, food, rides) are just all over the place. Food is cold before you sit down because it's a cluster to use the stupid apps to pay and get a $2.50 discount or your free meal, and there is no expedited line for people who have been in public before. Rides are fun, we ended up buying the "Quick Queue" for both parks because waiting is uncomfortable and hot. Aquatica rides are all over the place. Some allow show and some don't, some have shoes storage but it's far from the exit so you're both standing in line barefoot getting your feet burnt and then walking a long distance to get your shoes after the ride. Cabana at Aquatica was nice, but the "food service" was unavailable. Beluga Whale experience at Discovery Cove was awesome. Be aware every single person must wear a Sea World full wetsuit and shoes, no exception. It was fun, but messy and definitely not Disney. I don't touch in the animals in zoological places, that's not my area of expertise.

This is THE WORST went for holiday weekend and the food lines are completely unprepared You have four people making the food trying to feed a massive crowd. Waiting in line for over an hour just to get food DONT COME HERE - they need to fix their food lines and they don't allow outside food or drinks so you are just screwed

How can you not love coming here and experiencing all that Aquatica has to offer. You will enjoy a wild and refreshing blend of family-friendly fun. The park boasts fun slides. Aquatica also offers unique animal encounters. Combined with SeaWorld San Antonio's marine exhibits and fun shows featuring amazing creatures like orcas and dolphins, Aquatica promises a memorable day with your family.  Aquatica delivers a well-rounded park experience for visitors of all ag

Lazy river

Visited Aquatica in San Antonio and it was not at all what I expected. Looking on the map, I thought this was a huge waterpark with lots of attractions but it was not. It has your basic lazy river, wave pool, slides, splash pads, and playground but that's it. Visited on Memorial Day and it was crowded. Park ended up getting shut down at 5pm due to weather conditions and with everyone leaving at the same time, it took :45 minutes to get out the parking lot. Paid general admission to park ($37), paid for a locker ($20), bought food to feed three people ($68), and bought one day admission tickets for three ($203) online because it was much cheaper then paying at the location. Overall my children had fun and that's all that matters to me.

This was the worst amusement park experience I've ever had in my entire life. I prepaid in advance for a two-day pass that included admission to both parks, all day dining, & parking totaling almost $400. In fact, the total went over $400 when I was forced to purchase a $25 locker that would later be turned off due to employee error. You would think that, in and of itself would have been addressed by way of a refund/concession given the fact that I was forced to purchase the locker & then I wasn't even able to access it bc of employee error. However, passing off stress/burden/cost to the guests by way of poor operating standards combined with bad attitudes/errors of employees seems to be the real theme of the park, in my opinion. The park itself was filthy (condiment stations looked unsanitary and mostly neglected, beer cans littered everywhere, someone was smoking cigarettes nearby the restaurant while we were eating) with excessive wait times even for a busy weekend. Customer service is non-existent. It was an exhibition in disorganization, poor communication, ill-informed and rude employees with little to no concern about customer satisfaction or making it a memorable and happy place for children. It was the first time for both my daughter and myself. We traveled an hour and a half each way to be there and with every person I encountered, I explained it was our first time. Whenever I tried to get information related to our dining pass or the park itself, I was met with rude, unhelpful responses. Utilizing the apps is unhelpful bc the internet does not support that many devices on highly populated days. I encountered four supervisors yesterday and w the exception of one of them, every single one of them was equally tacky, unhelpful, ill informed and careless. You would think that for $400 over two days there would be some form of perceived value in the experience. Most of the day was spent walking in circles and being redirected after waiting excessive amount of time in line to learn that there was some type of criteria I didn't meet to be in that line despite speaking to employees before getting it in that line. I would go into greater detail but I'm saving that for my email to the president, Better Business Bureau, and the Department of Consumer Affairs. There are better options in the area all of which are far superior choices. Six flags Morgan's Wonderland Schlitterbahn Splash Town If Disney World is the happiest place on Earth, it stands to reason that SeaWorld is the UNhappiest place on Earth. I didn't even utilize my second day ticket bc the idea of having to go back into what they call an amusement park was so frustrating and stressful that I decided to take my concerns to the Better Business Bureau/Consumer Affairs and send an email to the president. I was point blank told, "You're in the park and you're not getting your money back for the day that you haven't even attended yet." I didn't ask for any rebates or refunds for the useless day that I spent there however I said, "I am not interested in returning tomorrow just give me the money back for tomorrow's pass that I have paid for but haven't experienced." The actual response was, "We're not going to do that because we don't do that. Even IF I wanted to help, I couldn't." Corporate thuggery at its finest. This is unethical, dishonest and bad business. It's no wonder that SeaWorld has been marred with bad press, controversy, and scandal since inception. The amount of disorganization, cost, and bad behavior was truly exceptional and they seem to be proud of it. That also explains this terrible rating they have on the BBB. They strong arm you into spending more money with no delivery or execution on quality of experience or service. There is no perceived value let alone actual value, there is no quality control, cleanliness, customer service, resolution. It was a day of exorbitant cost and anti fun. Consumers you have a choice and if your choice is not to be treated like this, then take your dollars & time to an organization that values customers. Do better Aquatica.

Military offers free entrance when you purchase online, so check out the website first for tickets! $30 for parking. Soooooooo many slides were closed and the small raft slide for the smaller kids were closed as well... My kids were pretty much for the wave pool and the splash pad. Lazy river they enjoyed as well. However, PSA! Parents, please watch your own children. The workers will not say anything to the children unless they are where they are not supposed to be. So please watch for the safety of your own children as you do not know if other children will be rough with yours. The wave pool can be congested and dangerous for younger children if you are not paying attention as the waves can be pretty big especially with other people knocking into you. What grind my gears are unaware parents. Slash end of PSA. The only food that you can order is in the center I believe. I would get there a tad earlier then meal times because only one side was open so the line was incredibly long. Most of the food trucks were closed which must be from the shortage of workers. I waited 40 minutes to get dip n dots for my children when there was only 4 guest ahead of me. It's so slow for the lines and I went on a day where it wasn't busy so be prepared! My kids enjoyed this park more than the aquarium side. You can pet the stingrays here as well. 4 stars for a day full of them using all their crazy energy.

Really beautiful and kids live it here so do I food is good toys are good but expensive but overall I love it

Kristy S.

It's expensive but better to get discounted tickets online or as a guest on a season pass. Nice park. Pretty Clean. It's packed Labor Day weekend. Lockers are available to rent $20 small and there's larger ones for more $. The grill sells burgers and fries and hot dogs. Food comes out fast. Grab a tray, pick your food, pay & sit down. Covered area with fans. Plenty of eating tables at the grill. Overall the park has lots of cabanas sold out. It's nice but so packed we couldn't really enjoy it. Lots of pops and slides for kids but again, so packed.

This weekend was my first time at Aquatica. I had a great time however I have one HUGE piece of feedback. The management of the lazy river is so poor that it's almost like an American gladiator competition. The lifeguards let people trample over each other. People should not be allowed in the lazy river unless they have a tube. That experience was disappointing and in most water parks it's my favorite ride. Honestly, though, please control guests. Aside from that, everything ran really smoothly. The rides were fun and the staff was friendly. The park was clean and for $35 the day pass was affordable. A charge of $25 for parking was unnecessary and very expensive considering how much parking space is available but that's how places make money. I'll certainly return but please please please control the lazy river.

On the day I visited it was 103 outside by mid day I couldn't take the heat anymore and came here to cool off and get my hair wet I must say it was a totally refreshing way to escape the heat of the day! They have a good number of waterslides here as well as having all of them be completely different from the next one definitely the highlight of the slides has to be Thunder Rapids Water Coaster as it's the first of its kind in North America and wow is it fun I've never ridden a slide like this before and I found it to be super fun as well as Wet and totally unique to anything I've ever experienced before as the technology that created this is totally rad and a great way to knock out those huge stair cases! The ground here can get super hot I mean super hot and that's coming from me someone who's always barefoot at waterparks so make sure you bring some sandals or something to keep your feet cool from the burning cement or just try to walk in the shade and water spots to keep them from burning! As anyone who visits waterparks will tell you coming to one can be a great workout as well as a rewarding time as your climbing lots of staircases and getting some swim action in if you choose to do that wile your inside their huge State Of Texas shaped wave pool. The waterpark opened a bit later than the park but it was all good as it was super hot by then and this was much needed the best part about this is that Gold Pass members can get into the Water Park 10 min early so that will definitely save you a bit of time and get you on a few more slides! Overall I really enjoyed my time here at the waterpark as all the slides were fun and I thought it was cool that their wave pool had its unique Texas shape to it as it made for some fun waves and splashes! The torrent River/wave pool in blastenhauf now requires live jackets- if you are 18 or older you can take valid ID to guest services and sign a waiver which excludes you from life jacket requirements! 2 rides I was disappointed in - the dragon revenge- longest line there was- instead of standing at the top of the side where there is water to keep you cool- you stand way at the bottom waiting for a tube (seems they only have about 15 tubes total) ride moves slow and we nearly got stuck! Also HILLSIDE! My favorite ride- they added these jumps for the first 1/2 of the ride where it makes you go super slow- and your butt is dragging over ever hump making it a very uncomfortable ride! The last half of the ride is great and just as I remember- besides not going through the missdle of the locker room anymore. Some of the slides also showed thier age and like they never get thoroughly cleaned when not in season. I love you can take your own cooler for non alcoholic beverages and food so your not eating and drinking fair food and drinks all day while in the sun. While some of that debate may still exist, I was pleasantly surprised by how much there actually is to do & how fun & engaging the scheduled shows are. SeaWorld ended up being an absolute blast for me & my family! There was so much going on that it was hard to know where to begin. We went to the beluga & Pacific white-sided dolphin experience, then the sea lion talk where we watched the sea lions dance & do tricks, which was really fun. One of the highlights was the Imagine Ocean puppet experience. It was a glow in the dark, super immersive, & honestly magical experience for me & my kids. We also went to the orca encounter, which was such a delight. They have splash zones & it was hilarious watching the killer whales jump & flip in the air while the crowd got unexpectedly soaked at certain moments of the show. Also be aware, if you plan on sitting in the "splash zones" during the whale, dolphin, or sea lion shows, I suggest wearing a bathing suit under your clothes & bringing a small towel because you will get soaked depending how close you are sitting in the front. However, the splash zones are clearly labeled on the seat backs so you will know whether you are considered within range of getting wet to determine whether that's a good fit for you. We sat in the splash zone on our first orca experience but farthest back of the splash zone & still got a good soak, but the folks down at the front were drenched in water. When it's a hot day that sounds refreshing, today when we went it got quite windy & cold toward the evening so we opted to steer clear of any & all splash zones. They have a huge playground area for kids, which I'd estimate is great for children under about age 12, plus a separate playground for the younger little ones. There is a wide variety of food options like ice cream, burgers, cupcakes, & carbonated drinks. I would describe the food as pretty mediocre, & it is definitely expensive. You are allowed to bring water bottles into the park but no outside food or drinks. We brought my daughter's sippy cup with milk & a backpack & no one questioned it. I definitely recommend bringing a backpack so you have somewhere to keep your belongings, although the park does offer lockers near the entrance if you do opt to store your stuff. I also suggest downloading the SeaWorld app. It's super helpful & easy to use as it gives you up to the minute daily schedules of what events & shows are happening by the hour. There was also a plethora of rollercoaster rides for those who enjoy a thrill! Even though we did not ride any of the roller coasters this visit, it was still fun watching people climb up the massive tracks before the big drop & hearing everyone scream with excitement as they flew past. The way the park is laid out puts you pretty close to many of the rides, so you get a great view of them even if you are not riding. If you think you will go to SeaWorld at least twice a year, I would suggest going with the annual pass. More bang for your buck. A single day pass starts at $50 & goes up from there depending if you add a dining experience to your day pass. Right now during spring break you can get the basic adult annual pass for $99, which includes access to their aquatic park. Kids under 5 are currently offered free annual park passes. We grabbed two for our kids. The free kid passes do not include the aquatic section like the adult pass does, but you can add that for roughly $39.99 per child before taxes, which is still very reasonable. With the basic annual pass you do not have to pay for parking, & there are higher membership tiers that include dining & merchandise discounts that may be worth the cost depending on how much you plan to eat inside the park because the cost of food & drinks add up quickly. For example, we bought one electrolyte drink like a Powerade & it was about $9. A small Dippin' Dots ice cream cup came out to almost $15 after tax & tip. Something else to know is that every time you check out at a register there is a tipping option. I usually tip because I worked in the service industry before so I have a soft spot, but I can understand how it might feel excessive when every single purchase asks for a tip, even when someone is just ringing you up for a drink. My advice is to eat before you arrive so you are not relying too heavily on park food. Also definitely bring your water bottle. Overall it was an amazing experience, especially for the kids. They were thrilled by the whale, dolphin, & sea lion shows. It was entertaining for the adults too. We laughed a lot & had a great day. Giving SeaWorld 4 stars because the cost of food & drinks is egregiously expensive when you take into account tipping for every purchase. Costs add up quickly even with having a pass. That said, we will definitely be back.

I've been to this particular Six Flags location over 25 times over my lifetime, and it has a great mix of rides for everyone. In my opinion, there are better Six Flags theme parks like Six Flags over Texas in Arlington and Six Flags Great America in Chicago, but this one in San Antonio is pretty good. It comes with several high thrill ride options like Iron Rattler (my favorite), Superman Krypton Coaster, and Wonder Woman. It also has lots of tamer rides for all ages. The food options are also pretty good, especially Johnny Rockets (those burgers and fries are amazing). As for crowds, it's hit or miss. Just know that on weekends around Halloween, Fright Night gets pretty packed. Same for Christmas at the Park. I once waited in line for over 2 hours to ride Iron Rattler. Less busy times like early May before the real summer kicks off, wait times are all less than 30 minutes even for the popular rides. There is also a water park directly connected inside the park so that's super convenient. In Dallas the water park is completely separate. As for pricing it's gone up over the years (even parking is $40 now whereas it was $20 not too long ago), but compared to the high end theme parks like Disney and Universal, Six Flags is very affordable. Enjoy!

Six Flags Over Texas is easily one of the more visually unique parks in the chain …read more The setting really stands out - it's built against a quarry wall, which gives it a cool backdrop you don't see at most theme parks. I also loved the consistent Hispanic/fiesta-style theming throughout the park. It adds a fun, vibrant energy that makes the whole place feel lively and different. Getting into the park was surprisingly smooth and fast, which is always a great way to start the day. Once inside, the atmosphere is super energetic with lots going on, but be ready for crowds - especially on busy days. A couple things to plan for: parking is pretty expensive ($39 for general and $55 for premier), so keep that in mind when budgeting your trip. Also, the Texas heat is no joke, so definitely come prepared with water, sunscreen, and maybe a game plan to stay cool. Overall, it's a fun, high-energy park with a unique look and vibe. If you can handle the heat and crowds, it's a great place to spend the day.

I was in no hurry to book our accommodations and just kind of got around to it eventually, where I was sad to see that our top two hotel choices were completely booked. I was confused as to why this was happening, but quickly came to realize that the Final Four was in San Antonio that same weekend. Welp! To the Hyatt Regency Hill, we went! We booked this hotel because it was listed as one of the more kid friendly options in the area. Again, "one of", aka the third best. As soon as we arrived, we headed to the pool and lazy river, which were fun, but I was pretty annoyed at the 48" inch requirement for the water slides. Our 6 year old son is 43" and has done much bigger slides at other water parks and even at our community pool. 48" was definitely overkill. Positives: We definitely enjoyed, and took advantage of having a full kitchen, washer/dryer and an actual bedroom with a pull-out couch in the living room. The property itself was definitely very nice, overall. Negatives: The bed was way too soft for our liking and the pillows were cheap. And the shower door would catch on the tile every time you opened it. I would not hate a situation where we had to stay here again, but I wouldn't seek it out.

A very special shoutout to the Recreation & Activities Supervisor, Kim Wertens! She was amazing--so patient, resourceful, and truly went above and beyond to accommodate our group of 90 people. She worked with our preplanned schedule and helped keep all the kids entertained, which made a huge difference for everyone.
