Top notch!!! Five stars consistently. It had been over a year since I visited this establishment, and the consistency of fresh produce, fresh steak; consistency in all of their products has been even better than the Ogden location at their best (they just aren't consistent up there). Tried the 6 piece chicken and fries for the first time, and the chicken fingers were better than ANY actual chicken restaurant that I've visited for the exact same. The fries are a bit thin and slightly soggy, they are not salted, however, they are generous on their condiments if you request them, including ketchup! Also ordered a California burrito. My companion was pleasantly surprised and appreciative that it DID include fries (though it isn't stated in the actual description). Also ordered a steak salad, (absolute perfection )! Went through the drive thru at Rivas tonight. It was very easy to access from the street, seemed like plenty of parking, and I loved the bright lights attracting customers. The menu is quite large which makes it a little overwhelming, but I love that almost everything had pictures. I ended up choosing the pastor torta and my husband got a medium horchata. He gave the horchata a 4.7/5. Loved how bold the flavors were and the size was perfect. The .3 off was for his personal preference of it being just the tiniest bit too sweet. He still finished the entire thing regardless! As for the torta is was large and heavy. Such a generous sandwich. The pastor has a great char to it without being dry, the veggies on the sandwich seemed fresh, and my favorite part were the large juicy chunks of pineapple throughout the pastor. I tried the red and green sauces, loved both but could slurp up the green sauce, the red one just has a kick which was nice as well. I was so stuffed by the time I finished the sandwich and would happily get it again. And just as a bonus the woman serving the drive thru was very sweet and had my order out very quickly. read more

We've been coming here since they first opened, back then I would have rated it a 5 due to the good price, big portions, and quality. We usually cook at home, but when we've had long work days and are exhausted we tend to frequent this joint. Lately due to a new cook making up his own recipe the portions have been way smaller, missing certain key ingredients (we get a pastor burrito/steak fries each time) But if I were to wear blindfold and try the pastor burrito I couldn't tell you what it was, that's how different/bad it tasted. Also the prices have gotten outrageous and they're skimping you with combo trays to give you less steak fries. A burrito and steak fries should not cost you $30 and some change. I'm first thing it was missing is that unique texture and flavor of the tortilla that these places are known for. Next they should fry the bacon to give it some crispy texture since the bacon was pretty chewy. This didn't go well w the style of potatoes in there. It was like eating a tube of mush. Pretty much abandoned the burrito two bites in. My quest for a decent breakfast burrito goes on! So I am new to Utah and my thing to do was search for a place with the best Mexican food. I was driving on the dark road on a Thursday night and seen cars just pulling into this facility. I thought that since they are from Nevada they may have what I'm looking for when I eat Mexican food ... flavor! I ordered one taco de pastor and the California burrito. Straight up, this was a long wait for what I am use to for a drive through. Nonetheless, that was an indicator that they food was fresh. The taco de pastor was a pretty a good size and doubled on the tortilla. Unfortunately, it was only saved by the meat which had really good flavor and was moist. The tortillas were not heated very well and made me think they were just taken out of the pack and laid on the plate. The California burrito was awesome! The meat was tasty and moist and the tortilla look and tasted like it was cooked well. Similar to the look of one that was hecho a mano. My only gripe was that the tomatoes were too big of chunks, but in the end that is also a personal preference. I would come here again to taste more of the other burritos! read more

I very rarely write negative reviews, and try to give the benefit of the doubt to food service workers. However, my experience today was very upsetting. The woman taking my order at the drive through was extremely rude and impatient, and would likely benefit from learning proper customer service etiquette. I have been going to Rivas for about three years and have always loved their bean and cheese burrito, however this time the cheese wasn't melted at all, inside or out. After how the woman treated me I will not be going back, which is a shame because this has been my favorite place to stop for lunch when I'm in the area. The food is fairly good. But please don't tell me that the breakfast burrito has red potatoes in it when there is not!! You but French fries in it instead and the are greasy and under cooked. The female at the counter is not friendly at all. She doesn't seem to like her job. My husband ordered a combo meal and asked for a coke she got a little frustrated and said "that combo doesn't come with a drink!!" As far as the ambiance goes it is a very hot and stuffy place. Really good experience. I'll say I certainly don't understand all the complaining. The food is very good. This surprised me. I was expecting typical dirty taqueria. The chicken taco was excellent. Tender white meat was fresh, vegetables were crisp and the tortilla was perfectly chewy. This is a very good fried taco. I tried the Carnitas quesadilla and was also pleasantly impressed. Carnitas was flavorful tender meaty and lightly crisp. Needed a touch more cheese. The chorizo breakfast burrito was also good. Pretty much what you expect from the typical taqueria variety. I didn't enjoy the chorizo but I don't think it was any fault of the chorizo. I just don't care for it and find it too intense and heavy. But I can tell that any other protein would've produced a great solid breakfast burrito. I will absolutely be returning. read more
