Her ballet classes are the highlight of my week! From day 1 I walked into the studio, I had a feeling I was on another planet. I saw respectful, well-behaved students, truly inspiring atmosphere. Everyone was so focused and dedicated. Once I started taking classes, I understood why. I'm absolutely in LOVE with her daily classes and only wish I could attend all 7 days a week! Students of different ages, backgrounds, skills drive from remote parts of town, even during rush hour, just to be able to take her one-of-a-kind class. She has this rare talent for navigating students of different levels and pinpointing their needs. Working 7 days/week (!!!), making the schedule so flexible for all of us, - she's truly an inspiration. I'm in the best shape I've ever been! But most importantly, I'm a much happier person BECAUSE of Julia. Bless her soul for loving her job soooo much, and sharing her rare talent with us. If you want your kids to learn discipline, grace, value of hard work and have the Best posture, you must bring them for Julia's classes. I wholeheartedly recommend Julia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband and I reached out to Soho Dance to get dance lessons for our first dance at our wedding…read more We got assigned Lucia, and it truly was the best thing that could have happened to us. I think we had a total of 6-7 classes, but after the second class, we had the entire routine down - it was all just about perfecting it. Lucia came up with the entire dance, after we expressed our song and vision to her. She even edited the music. She was so friendly, her schedule was so flexible, and she took advantage of each minute of every class. We really lucked out with her. She is so incredibly talented, and it shows. Our wedding was about a month ago and people don't stop talking about our first dance. The choreography was so amazing. It should also be noted that neither myself not my husband are dancers in any way! Thank you Lucia! Do not think twice about using her for your first dance choreography. Our friends are going to use her too!

Soho dance was the place I first really started to learn to dance. It has been my home and a place…read moreof community and learning. The thing I love most about there is that they have is tic toes that will teach you the skills and the foundations do dance while still making it fun. I need a balance of technique and fun and they deliver! I have had the esteemed pleasure of working with and competing with many of the instructors, I've learned a multitude of dances, had incredible support and the most fun I've had pretty much anywhere. Dance itself can be almost addictive once you jump in and boy what better place to get those endorphins in while learning than at a place like this? I went from knowing virtually nothing and feeling very overwhelmed (in a good way) about any partner style dance, (I also didn't have a background in other forms of dance) and threw myself in entirely to then be at my first salsa competition a year later. I'm so glad I made that investment. I've warned lifelong friends and memories. They have knowledgeable teachers, kind staff, a wonderful space and always something fun going on. I have worked with the owner, Raul, the amazing Artem, the show stopping Yesenia, the bubbly Deana, the sassy Jackie and many others during my time there. The knowledge and experience I now possess makes me feel comfortable in most dance settings, socially or otherwise. If you're looking for a place to learn and have fun...this is it!

The owner is very personable and she's at the studio on every occasion, she provides refreshments at no charge. However I would caution you that parking is limited and you are not permitted to park at the Citi Bank parking lot or you will be towed. The only place left to park is across the very busy street in another banks parking lot (BofA or WF can't recall), the neighborhood is sketchy, so wear tennis shows so you can walk fast or run (which is what I do). Then you walk in an alley way to get to the back side of the studio, very scary as there are often weirdo's there, so if possible go with someone and walk fast. The studio used to have a security guard in the alley way, but not sure if they still do, that was hit or miss. But once you're in the studio "all is good", but then don't forget you need to walk BACK to your car in the sketchy neighborhood, as a single woman with no companion I stopped going because of the safety issue. I breathe a sigh of relief once I made it "safely" to the studio, but then dreaded walking out alone at night. Not a comfortable feeling for me, so I stopped going because of this. Be safe!

After having experiences at other studios where…read morethe business ethics honestly weren't great, it's incredibly refreshing to come somewhere that truly cares about their clients. I can't say enough good things about this place. In my opinion, it's one of the best studios in LA. The instructors are amazing, and the management and staff are genuinely kind, professional, and supportive. One thing I really appreciate is how clean the studio is. They ask everyone to remove their shoes at the door, which shows how much they respect the space and the dancers. I've been to studios where people walk around in regular shoes on floors you're expected to dance on, and it just doesn't feel right. Here, you can tell they take pride in keeping the environment clean and safe. You can truly feel the difference when a studio values the people walking through their doors. It makes me want to keep coming back every time.

I really did want to like this place. I've taken several classes and done several "open pole"…read moresessions after deciding to do the lowest tier membership that they offer that includes the unlimited open pole. I am someone who is brand new to the pole world but very motivated in trying to engulf myself in the sport. I come from a bodybuilding background where I found that the community was always very supportive and encouraging. There is zero community here. Everyone seems to walk in, and then pretty much run out of each class. Open pole is full of women of different levels of expertise, but there is an unusual sense of judgement that is impossible to shake if you're new. I don't come from a choreo background, so maybe that's where I'm falling short in the classes. I found myself to get very flustered quickly and didn't feel a lot of patience or encouragement from the instructors, for myself or for others. It seemed like the goal was always to get to the end of what the choreo is supposed to be, so you can use the remaining 3 mins of class to scramble trying to remember everything and practice while the instructor gets lost in themselves flawlessly going through the choreo that everyone else was still very much struggling with... and then that's it! Class ends. After leaving 2 classes in tears because I felt so defeated, I decided to pay more money to get private lessons elsewhere and THAT is where I fell back in love. I am now looking at just buying a pole for my apartment so I can practice at home in peace. Really sad that this didn't end up being the place I thought it was going to be, I feel like pole is a truly beautiful art form and having it be such a woman dominating sport, I guess I was hoping for some more love to the newbies.
