Fortunately I started coming here a while back and it is my usual hairdresser's whenever I can get an appointment that suits me and my erratic schedule. The shop floor is light and airy, and there are leather sofas to wait whilst seated. The ladies who work here are very nice and I have had good chats with many of them in here, which is remarkable as I like to have nice and awkward silence in these kinds of scenarios as I find the chats in this social scenario laboured and better best avoided! They do a range of hair cut options for the lady, none of which I know too much about, but they are always busy here so that's a good indicator about their quality. All I know is that they cut my hair well, which a real rarity!

This week I decided to accompany my sister and my niece to hair study, I was getting myself in the good books. It is sleek and modern inside with a dark colour scheme that makes customers feel comfortable. The sister and niece both got haircuts, as it is their regular choice of hair salon the girls were Friend and knew them both by name. I was impressed with the way Charlene dealt with my niece, she felt at ease and was distracted by sweets and lollipops. To my surprise while I was in the waiting room of the salon a gent walked in and got his hair trimmed for £5. Which by modern standards is a bargain. So if you fancy a break from your men only barbers and want to save a few quid, why not visit Hair Study.

I love t he friendliness of the salon and the individual treatment each customer receives. There is no quick turnover of staff which is reassuring for customers. It is easy to obtain an appointment with the hairdresser of choice and prices have remained realistic and within most peoples budget. There is always a nice atmosphere within the place and customers are always offered that welcome cuppa on arrival! When a salon can cater for three generations in the one family who are all satisfied customers , they must be doing something right!!

I've had my hair dyed by her, and had countless styles done for different weddings. She listens to every detail you ask for and does exactly what you want. I've had bad experiences with other salons where the stylist talks me out of what I initially wanted. I find the prices very reasonable! I almost cried when the tan developed and wouldn't come off my hands, elbows and knees. I went back to complain and was told to get lemon and rub it, I tried but it didn't work so I went again and the girl gave me a scrub to take to their bathroom and rub it with it - it didn't work and I complained again and she practically walked me backwards out the door until I found myself standing in the street with the door getting closed on me.... My hands and thumbs looked like they had been dipped in varnish and my nails were chipped before I even got home. I had such a bad experience but maybe, as I always say on YELP, they could have been having a bad day. Personally, I won't be back.

I called and confirmed my booking the day before. So on Saturday I worked my day around the appointment as I was out shopping for wedding dresses and rushed back to Newtownards. Then I arrive at the salon to find the doors shut and it said on the door they close at 4pm! So I called both contact numbers quite a few times... no answer, and left messages. I have yet to hear back from the salon over a week later. Ridiculous!! I definately wouldn't consider using them for my wedding or anything else again! Shocking way to treat your customers!!
