frustrating experience with booking and communication. The website did not clearly offer a cartilage piercing option for adults, which led me to select the general "ear piercing" category. I was told I had scheduled the wrong service (lobe only) and that an industrial piercing would require two separate appointments. They then kept my deposit even though they were canceling my appointment, not me canceling on them. First and last time. Paid 20 dollars to know not to go there. Fix your website before penalizing your customer's. read more

Went in for a nostril and vertical labret was asked if nostril could be redone directly after pierced probably will never be able to wear a hoop in it since it was pierced so high hopefully my vertical doesn't reject, but really didn't make me feel like I could trust the piercer and felt like the experience was ruined, wish I could've had a better experience the place was really cool and people were nice read more

I returned to Ritual Arts in September as planned, but FaraTa' was not available on the days I was in town so I scheduled my conch piercing with Andru. Overall I had a good experience with him and my piercing is perfect and healing well, but I can't get away from the feeling I had of being rushed despite having arrived 15 minutes early to an empty shop. I'm chalking it up to a difference in style because they're both obviously great piercers. When I imagine myself knowing exactly what I want and needing to be in and out, I think of Andru. Happy to recommend this as a place to get stabbed, even with a couple issues. My appointment ended up being with a different person than I had scheduled with, apparently due to the way their scheduling system works. This came as a surprise, however I chose to proceed rather than rescheduling. They also did not have the type of jewelry material I had asked about even after reassurance via email they did as I checked due to allergies, so perhaps there was a misunderstanding. Keep this in mind as you may need to request ordering jewelry if you're set on something specific. That said, everyone was super nice and explained things clearly, I got to stare at a picture of a cute kitten telling me to "Hang in there!" while I was being impaled, and was relieved to see they are still practicing COVID precautions with limited people allowed in, requiring face masks, etc. Parking was easy as they have their own designated spots, it's near some tasty treats, and their online scheduling works great. I went to Ritual to see Seven for my first ever piercing (left lobe). The experience was great and I felt comfortable the whole time. He spent a lot of time explaining the above-and-beyond sterilization process. It obviously works - I've had no issues healing at all. The piercing jewelry they use is nice and they have a decent selection of titanium flat-backs. Seven gave me an extra long post because I was going to the airport right after (I don't live in Portland) but gave me guidance about having it resized at a local piercer. My helix piercing closed up, and I was worried about getting it redone. I messaged them on Instagram and asked some questions. They were very responsive and insightful. I booked my appointment with Andru. The studio was very clean. I wore a mask and they had me sanitize my hands upon entry. They had perfect options for jewelry, some basic, some a little more fun. Prices for the earring was in line with what I expected to pay. The person who helped me was very friendly and kind. Then I went back with Andru and he had me lay down. I thought my piercing was completely closed up, but he was able to stretch it back open and save me from having to get it fully re-pierced. It was painless. I had the pleasure of getting my first tattoo with Luis, and the experience was amazing. First of all, I was a little nervous about being up close and personal during a pandemic but my fears were immediately put to rest when I observed the immaculate presentation of the studio with extremely thorough social distancing measures as well as shoe coverings and hand washing stations- they even offer to sanitize your phone if you want to use it! Next the consultation was very thorough and not pushy at all- they go over the design and send you renderings prior to the actual appointment but then make sure you're comfortable with the rendering prior to the placement as well. As for the actual procedure, it didn't hurt nearly as much as I thought and he kept me well distracted from the minor discomfort with light hearted, fun conversation. The universe is funny. I'd been debating a double nostril piercing for a few months post getting my septum pierced about six months ago, pre-moving to Portland. Did research, read reviews, made sure that what I wanted was reasonable and not being done out of impulsivity. I ended up at Ritual piercing today and immediately upon walking in felt a sense of comfort and like I belonged there. I was greeted by a lovely person who had me fill out paperwork and assisted me in finding the perfect jewelry for not only the double nostril piercings I was getting, but also for my septum. They introduced me to Seven which coincidently is a friend's name of mine... instant comfort. Seven then walked me into the room where I'd be pierced. I was guided through how the process would go, how the jewelry worked, expectations, cleaning, and how to breathe and relax. It was my daughter's first piercing and he did everything to make her feel comfortable. This was my first septum piercing and 3rd time having my nostril pierced and he had magic hands.
