This is the most unprofessional sad excuse for a Vet office. When I first started going here it was fantastic but with each and every visit it has been getting worse. They officially lost me and my 4 pets as clients yesterday. Last week I went to pickup my cats supplement only to find a note on the door "Lunch 12:30pm-1:30pm Call for emergency" which is fine, but I was there at noon.. Yet the doors were locked. So I left and decided I'd come back the following week, no big deal. Yesterday I called at 2pm to make sure someone would be there and I spoke to the front desk/Tech (Shania) about picking up my cats medication at 4:45pm she told me "we close at 5pm" I said "yes, I will be there at 4:45pm" I show up at 4:40pm to all the lights off and doors locked. But it's not 5pm and you knew I was coming? I called and knocked on the door, only to have Dr. Grewal call me back and say "Shania wanted to leave early, nobody is there and I am at a different clinic" so you were AWARE I was coming to pickup at 4:45pm but left early anyways... Make it make sense. But wait, there's more. I go home to contact another Vet about getting my cats medication somewhere else and in doing so I noticed that the supplement Dr. Grewal gave my sick cat in AUGUST 2024 expired in MAY 2024. So, you gave my very sick cat an expired supplement for his kidneys after telling us he has kidney disease. Officially lost me as a client. I got a snarly phone call this morning from the Shania saying I could come anytime today to pickup my cats supplement. No thank you. I'll be switching Vets today and letting everyone that I recommended this office to in this past know that they should also look elsewhere. The office is out dated, only 1 exam room, there is constantly new Vet Techs there... Not to mention we have witnessed Dr. Grewal in person belittle his staff infront of us as if they didn't know how to put ink in the printer. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. Go elsewhere and save yourself the headache, lack of compassion and money for potentially expired medication. If you do go here, I highly recommend you check the dates on anything prescribed. Dr. Grewal is aware of what happened and doesn't even have the decency to call and apologize. Do. Not. Go. Here.

Retaliation, Unethical Billing, and Broken Trust - Beware…read more I am deeply disappointed and disturbed by my experience at East Oshawa Animal Hospital. After enrolling my Doberman puppy in their Puppy Wellness Program and receiving proper discounts on earlier visits, I was given a formal estimate for bloodwork and spay surgery -- which I relied on for budgeting. The bloodwork was completed, but without notice or consent, the agreed-upon discount was removed and replaced with a vague "lab panel adjustment" line item that was never in the estimate. When I respectfully raised concerns about this billing discrepancy, including internal gossip about my other dog and confusion over which dog the discount applied to, I was met with rudeness and condescension from front desk staff -- including a staff member referencing private prior discussions inappropriately. Rather than address the issue professionally, the clinic retaliated by cancelling my dog's scheduled spay surgery the morning of the procedure, citing "distrust" due to my valid concerns. This is unacceptable, unethical, and emotionally distressing. I had to collect my dog without the care she was scheduled for -- despite having done everything responsibly as a client. I would caution any pet owner to seriously reconsider trusting this clinic with your animal's care. Transparency, compassion, and professionalism should be the baseline -- and sadly, this clinic failed on all three.

I took my cat to Animal Emergency Clinic of Durham last weekend after noticing he seemed unwell. We waited for 3-4 hours to be seen (even though the waiting area was empty), which was frustrating, but we understood that it was an emergency clinic. When we were finally seen, we were quoted $4900 for two nights of treatment (enemas, stomach pumping with laxatives, and IV fluids) or $3600 for one night with the same treatment. We were told that our cat had a condition called mega colon, and that this treatment would help get things moving. We opted for the one-night stay. The vet did call us during the stay and said that they had taken an xray and things looked like they were improving. When we picked him up, he was in significantly worse condition than when we dropped him off. His rear end was covered in feces and had mucous hanging from his mouth and all down his chest. I believe the clinic should have made some attempt to help clean him up as we had a scheduled pick up time. There was no vet available at pick-up to tell us how our cat was doing. Considering the amount of money we had paid, you would think the vet could take a moment to let us know how the cat was doing. To make matters worse, they sent us home with two medications but no pain medication, even though it was clear that our cat was in extreme pain. They told us to take him to our regular vet for further care the following day At our regular vet, we were given two options: surgery (which was not guaranteed to resolve the problem permanently and it would likely return quickly again) or to put him down. We were told the impacted feces were too large to pass through the pelvis. We had two xrays at the emergency clinic and were never told this. We decided to put him down, as it was clear he was suffering. Our cat was only 11 years old, and it was a heartbreaking decision to make. What really frustrates us about this experience is that the emergency vet did not clearly communicate how critical his condition was. We were made to believe that the one night treatment would help him and that we were giving him a chance. The lack of transparency and care is something we will never forget. I want others to be aware of our experience and consider the level of communication and care they expect when trusting their pets to an emergency clinic. I wish this situation had been handled differently, and I am devastated by the loss of our cat.

They helped us figure out his allergies and he has countless eye problems whether it's more allergies, conjunctivitis due to the dog park/daycare or one time he even had an ingrown hair in his eye (I didn't even know that was a thing) and they aren't afraid to refer you to a specialist if that's what your pet needs. The staff here care SO MUCH about your pet. We live nearby and my dog always wants to go visit. I'm convinced if he ever ran away he would just go there because they take such great care of him. 10/10 would recommend.

I decided to call Grandview Bloor animal clinic who I got an appointment with the same day ( They are clearly not busy for a reason). Brought my cat to the appointment with Dr Cushing she came In the room talked to us for a min, went into the back room with the cat and was not seen again.. The next person I talked to was her vet tech. Anyways, after $400 worth of blood work later I was given a quote for $1380 plus pain meds for a full teeth extraction on my cat. Days went by and I had to contact the clinic myself to get my results ( apparently everything was good with him) After my cats surgery, I picked him up still under sedation which resulted in him hurting himself more. Dr Cushing's receptionist told me to "keep him calm" and to "put his cone back on" ( her professional advice). Dr Cushing charged me $500 to "scale and polish" my cats teeth and then removed them... I am not a vet however, I think I am smart enough to know that there is no point cleaning an animals teeth and then removing them.. ( maybe she sells cat dentures on the side?) I went back to the clinic the following day to get more clarification on the bill and this charge for teeth cleaning . Dr ( if that's what you want to call her) Cushing gaslighted me and my partner and refused to give our money back. They clearly do not know how to draft up a bill or care for animals after surgery properly so how can they be trusted to treat your pets.
