Every pet owner knows how stressful a visit to the vet can be for their beloved fur children…read more That's why I was so pleased when the staff at Blue Cross put in extra effort to ensure that my cat felt comfortable during his examination. I was an emotional wreck when I got his diagnosis, but the team did a great job of offering genuine empathy and support. They provided me with advice that I use on a daily basis to maintain my cat's health and I've called in on a few occasions to ask for help, which they are always happy to provide. I have also used their pet boarding service - They took good care of my cat and gave him all his special meals and scheduled medication. At my request, they provided me with a detailed report of everything that happened while he was under their care. The cost is on the higher end - Especially for prescription medications. As a result, I prefer to get the prescriptions refilled elsewhere. However, I will continue to bring my pets here for check-ups as the expertise, service and dedication of the vets, techs and admin staff is worth the money.

After his check up the vet said he needed to come back for yet MORE shots because of some non descript reason that I never heard of. Also he told me as an afterthought that my dog had a heart murmer and he knew a dog cardiologist that would look at him. He tried to make an appointment but I said no because I knew the Dr. was trying to milk more money from me. I know my dog and he is a very healthy 12 year old now. Just came back from our new vet in a smaller town for my dog's annual and the Dr. told me his heart is in excellent shape for a dog his age. I asked about the murmer and he said "What murmer? , your dog's heart is fine." It's a terrible shame that Blue Cross has sunk that low to attempt to financially bleed pet owners this way. Disgraceful.

I had been coming here for years with my boy, my angel Sheya. He eventually passed away from end-stage kidney disease, and we had to say goodbye to him here. The doctors were so respectful and gave us all the time we needed. They even sent us a heartfelt card afterwards, which meant so much. At first, I thought they had only given us a simple paper box for his ashes. About a month later, when I opened it after ordering an urn, I discovered that there was already a beautiful wooden urn inside. That was such a kind and touching gesture, and I want to thank them for it. Sheya was such a sweet cat, and while it was heartbreaking to let him go, I'm truly grateful that it was at this clinic, surrounded by such compassionate care.

In that time there have been emergencies, chronic illnesses, and sibling drama between pets. They helped with it all. They are a wonderful team, and all three doctors provide exceptional care. If you are looking for a compassionate and caring team to assist your fur babies, this is the team.

Had issues many years ago when I got my first Shar-Pei from hunting dogs. The vet at the time never…read morestopped going on with all the issues and why Shar-Peis are NOT a dog to have. I switched to Ajax Animal Hospital and over the years there had 4 in total. All GREAT dogs and Ajax Animal Hospital was GREAT. 4.5 years ago I went back to hunting dogs and decided to try Whites Road Animal Hospital again. They were good and treated my dogs well, the clinic a little on the costly side but that was ok till last week. On a vet visit I saw this Lady vet who noticed a bad tooth on 1 of my dogs. I was surprised with all the vet visits and such I do on a regular basis that not once did they say anything before or catch the issue with tooth. This all said I was charged for a checkup $65.36 on one dog and $121.39 on the other, this was for the exact same examination both about 15min each. The vet gave an estimate to do a teeth cleaning and an estimate to do a cleaning and tooth extraction. The prices seamed very high so I googled to get an average cost and then followed up with 4 other local clinics. In 4 clinics I found that after 4.5 years of regular treatments, medications and all that they wanted to give quotes that on Cleanings was $180 to $220 higher then 4 other area vets. The dental cleaning and tooth extraction was around $800 to $1,550 higher then the 4 other local vets. These prices Whites Road wanted to charge are insane. This made me cross check on other charges they charged me on my visit last week and I found them slightly high as well. The 2 quotes was so concerning when Whites Road Vet Clinic sent an auto generated question on how my visit was I replied to these issues and sent them an e-mail. Today the main lady calls and gives a total BS story on why there was such a difference on the charge they charged me on Examination, she said they both got the premium examination but only charged for the premium on 1 dog and not the other LOL what a crock of BS, this was an insult. A 15 min examination done 100% same on the dog that had NO tooth issue was the one at $121.39. All 4 other clinics for full examination was well below this and more in line with Whites Roads $65.00 charge they had on my other dog. For the EXTREMELY high quotes after already paying high prices for 4.5 years her story was that the clinic follows guidelines and can charge / quote whatever they want and that it's only a quote LOL, $800 to $1,550 more is NOT normal I suggest everyone really look into what this clinic is charging you and how long they spend for the charges. There is a lot of GOOD vets out there that are not out for the $$$ and are MUCH more responsible and respectful on what there charging there patients. Look around and make sure your getting treated correctly and not over paying. This is all my own personal feelings from actual experiences that I have had at Whites Road Vet Clinic. Please check for yourselves.

Wasted my time, fuel to drive 55 kilometers. I do not know if the service has changed as the original Vets sold their practice to a large Vet corporation . He didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need, if anything I felt like he was trying to keep the cost down for me. He really listened and made sure he understood the details of our little predicament. I didn't feel rushed, or like my pet didn't matter because he's "just a rat" or that our problem itself was insignificant. He really wanted the best for my little dude and I, without breaking the bank. (On that note - so did the front desk staff - who were very caring and understanding with my little pet as well.) Yes - we got in to see Dr. Kent a little while after our scheduled appointment time but there was an emergency just beforehand AND I was a same day appointment, so no surprises there. I was obviously happy to wait to let more pressing matters be attended to. Today was the first time I've had to come back in 4 years. It was another great experience and I'm happy to report consistent, excellent customer service. I think my rat actually likes the vet's office now, he was the center of so much positive attention, haha! These folks are great with exotics, I'd recommend them to anyone with rats.

Upon arrival, he was noticeably more anxious than he is normally at the vet. Typically, he'll crouch on the table or explore a little- today he full on attempted to escape because he was picking up on some weird energy. The staff full on hate each other- it's evident in their interactions. Totally toxic environment. The manager was insufferable. Possibly one of the most annoying people that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Her incessant nattering, nagging, and hovering was the icing on the cake of a horrible visit. Even the vet asked her to be quiet because it was stressing my cat out. While I was there, I requested a claw trim, they removed him from the room and took him to the operating room to do so. This stressed him out further. They were handling him quite aggressively. Eventually he bit the manager, which is unlike him, but fair given the way she was acting. I probably would have bit her too if I were a pet. They ended up giving him anesthesia without my consent. This is NOT ok. They didn't have his medical history nor did they ask me about it- it is pretty extensive. This "doctor" kept talking about himself, talking over me, wouldn't listen to any of my concerns. I also just got really creepy vibes from him. I wouldn't want to be left alone with him. I will NEVER come here again. I booked my cat's followup appointment at another, more reputable clinic. Any vet clinic that puts an animal under anesthesia without the owner's consent or their medical history is not one that you should be bringing your pet to. I will also be reporting to the Vet College. Horrible. PLEASE NOTE: that this review has been edited as I received a series of harassing emails from the manager stating that she is in fact a manager and not a receptionist. My sincerest apologies Valentina. Don't worry, it won't happen again. I would also like to add that this clinic repeatedly contacted me via email when I explicitly requested that they stop as it is harassment. If you cannot handle negative reviews, focus your energy on providing care that would allow your patients to leave positive reviews.

I've been taking our pets to Leslieville Animal Hospital for several years. I think they're…read morereliable and the people are very friendly. However, they have some unreasonable policies that prioritize profit over animals and service. For example, I recently took my 12 year old cat in for a regular appointment and to have his teeth checked (he has FIV and a history of dental issues and we've spent over $5000 having his teeth cleaned here since we adopted him). I was told he should have another dental surgery for cleaning and possible tooth removal. LAH provided me with a quote which was good for 90 days. I decided to move forward with the surgery but didn't let them know until about 120 days after I received the quote. I was then told that the quote had expired and had to bring him back in for another check up, no exceptions. This was irritating as he is an anxious animal who hates the car and I had to take time out of my day and off work. I explained this but they didn't care. I went ahead and booked another appointment anyway. The next appointment resulted in an identical quote and we booked his dental appointment the next week. A couple of months later, during the week of his appointment, they called and told me they had to cancel because the surgeon was sick. They said they could re-book if for the next month even though they pushed his surgery beyond the 90 day window and he wouldn't need another appointment. To summarize.. they made me come back to their office even though it stressed out my cat, cost me an extra ~$150 in vet bills, required I take time off work and delayed my cats surgery. But they were fine doing that exact same thing just a couple of months later. Which proves that they never NEEDED me to come back in in the first place. I'm not happy but I trust the people that work there. I hope the company that owns the clinic re-thinks it's profit-driven policies in the future.
