Here I could comfortably look through the labelled pots in comfortable surroundings and find what I needed. There are copious amounts of flowers, knick knacks, gidgets and gadgets. I got a jade plant that was put outside for the summer and the magpies pecked, but it is thriving still. The plants from Golden acres were hale and hearty. The herbs grew wonderfully and the plants did great even in the hail storms. Overall the prices here are definitely more than the grocery store greenhouse, but we chose things on sale and there are definitely bargains to be found. One of our party scored a nice senior's discount.

The delivery team didn't take their shoes off, tracked mud through our place and knocked over a vintage speaker, which was unfortunate. When we put the sofa together, found that the pre-drilled screw holes don't actually line up with the legs provided. This is our brand new sofa and it's already not 100%. Disappointed that we decided to purchase from here to be honest and should've read reviews more carefully beforehand!

What drew me into Steeling Home from my walk was an on sale desk fan that was displayed outside on a cute antique table. The price was right, but I knew darn well that it would be hard to get it in the suitcase for my eventual trip back to the San Francisco Bay Area. I might still change my mind on that.... Anyway, I decided to stroll around inside and really enjoyed exploring the many pockets of interesting stuff this relatively small store holds. It has books, antiques, jewelery, and much more in-between. The people watching was fun too, with a fresh touch of Portlandia thrown in. I'm glad I stopped in and reminded myself that marching around a new City is fun, and stopping to explore some of its quirks is even better.

She was attentive and all ears as I told her our beautiful Canadel table was still not closing properly. She gave me Ron the Warehouse Managers direct number which I called the next day. We talked and I sent him our receipts and photo of the Canadel sticker under the table. He sent Jee to our home and by yesterday it was fixed! Jee had to come back with another young man, so this was a two day adventure BTW. Thank you so much for taking such good care of us! As new owners, I feared you'd tell me sorry, but no, you did not. This table was bought Nov. 2019, and the previous owners sent someone out May 2022, leaving replacement rails in case what he did didn't fix it. Now hopefully it has been rectified properly. Chintz did not even supply them anymore but they did everything they could to connect me with the manufacturer's rep and voila!!! I now have new blinds for only the price of install. They're definitely not the cheapest path for home decor but they do provide the most variety. There's 4 locations that I'm aware of and have visited in Calgary but this one is my favourite for having the right combination of size, merchandise and proximity to Market Mall without the crazy mall crowd. Now I pass here all the time, never in my wildest dreams did I expect what I saw inside; we are talking first of all an incredibly large store that descends for eternity to the back and is just plain lovely!! My friend wasn't exaggerating, every showcase, every shelf; every glassed cabinet was chockfull of lovely designer jewellery in the most spectacular designs. Here they carry some of the same designers as they do in Holt Renfrew but for a lot cheaper prices. But it didn't stop at jewellery there were beautiful globes of blown glass, intricately carved chopping boards that I would have hung rather than use and then my favourite an ethnographic object showcase in the far back featuring ceremonial objects from around the world. Here you can find original African Masks, fertility symbols from many countries, Native American antique pieces and authentic temple Buddhas. These objects were definitely market prices, you can buy these pieces for 4 times more on EBay, and here they are quite reasonable in price. Some of them have documentation too, so you know what village or tribe you are buying that object from. The service is tremendous, the people here know their stuff, they understand the precious cargo they carry. They are extremely present in helping you to see a piece or two, in my case more than 10. I love this store, it is exquisite, some of the most unique items I have ever seen and jewellery with such spirit, you should check this store out.
