Located close to the main square, Piazza Unita' d'Italia e Citta' Vecchia (old town), Biancospino is one of the best choices in the area, especially if you are craving meat.
The restaurant has a very elegant and warm décor, the ambiance is relaxed, modern looking and neat.
We went twice for lunch. Service was a pain the first time, but very good the second one, so I guess it depends on who's the waiter/waitress.
The food is undoubtedly good, the meat is cooked as ordered and there are plenty of options to pick from. Prices are considered a bit on the high side in Trieste, but it depends on what you are used to; for us coming back to visit our hometown from the States, the prices were splendid.
Especially if you come on vacation from abroad and so you are not going to be here often, you should try the Battuta di filetto, Carpaccio and Burrata e Pantanegra among the appetizers.
Pasta dishes are good but mostly this is a place for meat. You can go and try fancier cuts such as Fiorentina or Tomahawk, but consider that also the "regular" cuts, such as "filetto" and "tagliata" are very, very good.
Definitely a place worth coming to and has a quickly become one of my favorites for when I go back to Trieste. read more
