Highly recommend connecting with Rick and City Fire to review your system and inform you of what…read moreoptions you may have in regards to upgrading or replacing you current fire alarm system. Our strata had three other companies review our system, recommend solutions, and provide quotes. All other three companies said we needed to update our system, which includes engineering and modern code compliance, whilst City Fire said we could do a 'voluntary upgrade' which requires way less upgrades, can be done without extensive engineering or timely engineering/ permit processing, and is much cheaper. I do not know if the other three companies were not aware of the 'voluntary upgrade' option, or if they were dishonest so they could make more money off us. What Rick and City Fire did for us was hugely appreciated. They sorted things out with the city promptly and professionally, and did a great and fast job at our building. The cost came in lower than quoted, and the job got done quicker than estimated. We will continue to consult with City Fire for any further work and inspections.

After doing the work they ended up ruining some of our bushes and didn't even do all the work. When we brought up the missing work, and poor quality they immediately got defensive and started accusing us of a conspiracy to give them bad reviews. Really strange behavior. Instead of trying to fix the issue they decided to stay silent for months and only responded when we filled a complaint with BBB. At that point they got even more defensive and started saying we were difficult and when I catalogued our conversations, that were nice and pretty much ignored, they just said they have no more to say because they can't take the truth. As of right now they won't reimburse us and didn't file a proper response with the BBB but the BBB said they somehow answered in good faith, which they didn't. BBB doesn't seem to read what happened and the lack of effort of Rakes and Ladders to resolve the issue. Since this was a donation, they don't think they are liable to fulfill what we bought at the auction because they don't know how much we paid, which was almost full price. Either way, it shouldn't matter. If you donate something you are supposed to provide that service. I am still out my money and they are very unprofessional. Do not use them! I don't normally post bad reviews but this company behaved like a spoiled little child and got very aggressive. I am going to be raising this to the news so that we can get some traction and hopefully get our money back.
