The staff were unable to communicate in English which made communication during the massage difficult. The massage itself felt nice, but they were not conscientious of covering areas. I have received massages before but never experienced anything like this. Literally ripped down my underwear and left my butt hanging out uncovered for no reason. When I said something because I started to get cold, it was clear that she didn't even understand what I said. If I could give this place no stars I would. I had purchased a Groupon and booked, a couples massage 3 weeks ago with the spa as a birthday gift for my boyfriend. I even called a week ago to confirm. I was so excited because I was doing something for my boyfriend for his birthday. They called me 30 minutes before my appointment to tell me they only had one person to do a massage because the other person had an "emergency " and had to leave. They mentioned they could maybe get someone else in later in the night but I had dinner plans then. As to why I booked my appointment at the time I had. I will not reschedule and I will not ever go back nor recommend this place to anyone. Don't go you will get screwed . Now I can't get a refund for my Groupon as it is 3 days past the refund period. read more

So, two 1sts for today starting with this one. Never had a massage but our son bough me and his mom a 'Couples Groupon' as a Christmas Gift because I'm really hard to sort out a proper gift. The lovely Mrs has had a few massages before at various places and vacations and she gave me the low down on what to expect. I am a bit hesitant to have people touch me, let alone rub me down so I came in to this a little anxious. Fortunately, the whole thing g was super relaxing. The dimmed lighting, the music, the lack of talking from our masseuses actually had me so relaxed when the time was up that I wondered why I hadn't done this already. Never really felt uncomfortable, was never too cold or too hot and the constant massaging was just so nice. Wish I knew their names as I'd thank them in this review but it's not like anybody was difficult. They were all very pleasant and charming. I'd for sure do this again and the lovely Mrs is already asking how frequently I'd like to schedule these... thank you to the entire staff. When we first got there for a couples massage the atmosphere was nice but the air conditioner was not on. They did agree to turn it on for our massage. The massage room was ok, nothing special. One table was a typical massage table, the other had a hole cut on it for the face. The "hole" table was not comfortable and gave me a stiff neck. Our massages were very good, no complaints. When we were finished and went out to the lobby, there was a police officer in front of the desk. He said the owner was "outside and probably wouldn't be back." The two staff members were scrambling around. We weren't sure what was going on; we left our tip and left. About 20 minutes later we noticed a closed sign had been put on the door, the police officer was still in the lobby. Not sure what was going on but it left us with mixed feelings, mostly curiosity. Reserved a couples massage with the intent of getting a nice relaxing couples massage with my partner. I called earlier in the day to confirm my appointment again, but once I arrived they mentioned that they would not be able to have us in the same room for our massage due to construction, which is the point of a couples massage. The receptionist told us that the construction should be done in a couple of days, so we rescheduled for the next week. However, when we showed up the next week the spa was locked with no one inside, and no one answering phones. Very frustrating to have to drive out here twice for this. I already paid for a Groupon for this so I can't get a refund, making this even more frustrating. Time to trade in my Groupon for something else because I don't want to come back again to end up not getting a massage. read more

We got a couple massage and it was nice. It was nice and quiet and so relaxing. Some of the pressure was way to ruff and even though I said something it kept happening. But the lady my boyfriend had was perfect. The one suggestion I would give is to ask on the questionnaire what kind of pressure we would like. But I would definitely still go back. read more

My massage was approximately two weeks ago and I still can't shake the feeling of unpleasantness about the whole experience. The TL;DR version is that it was a mediocre massage that included a level of physical contact that, I feel, was inappropriate. The long version is that several times, while I was face down, the masseuse straddled my head. Then, while I was still lying face down, she proceeded to pull my underwear down, followed by asking if it was OK. Having never done a fully nude massage before, I reluctantly agreed and then she proceeded to massage my glutes. No biggie, except that on each pass she slid her fingers further down and in between until I was almost certain she was going to touch my sphincter. Again, unsure of what qualifies as appropriate in all nude massages, I started to lightly clench, in an attempt to dissuade her from going any further. A few more passes and she seemed to get the hint, but not before finishing with a quick rub of the underside of my buttock, followed by direct contact (or the closest graze possible) with my perineum. Needless to say, the massage was neither comfortable nor relaxing and when it concluded 15-20 minutes later, I have never dressed as quickly or been as relieved to leave a spa as I did and was that day. I will add that, while I appreciate the proprietor's desire to provide jobs to those for whom English isn't their native tongue, it made communicating with my masseuse extremely difficult if not altogether impossible. That said, I'd love to chalk this entire experience up to basic miscommunication, but I'm not sure that's all it was. read more

Literally the worst place ever. I called to book 2 90 minute massagesI got the rudest lady in the world on the phone. When I asked for prices she got snippy. I then went on to go forward with purchasing the two massages but she only took a phone number which I thought was weird. A literal joke. I wouldn't give this place ONE star but that's not an option. Scheduled a couples massage on the 14th of June. Got to the spa and it was closed. Called and called and called. No one answered. Finally my SO called on his phone and they answered. The spa was closed under a minor emergency and under construction for the day but yet NO ONE gave us a call to let us know. So we drove all the way there just to find out the spa was closed and our massage was canceled. Fast forward; I'm trying to reschedule. I have called a handful of times FOUR days in a row with absolutely no answer. I finally called again today once & no answer. I got a freaking text as soon as I hung up. The text said "Sorry we missed your call. This is Risen Day Spa, text here for help." Or something stupid like that. So clearly the person running the line had the phone right there in there hand, they just didn't want to deal with the call. I asked to reschedule over text & whoever I was messaging got really bitchy with me. So I decided to just say screw it & I cancelled completely and got my $130 back. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY PEOPLE. I had Hannah as a massage therapist. She did a decent job and kind of teased me quite often by having her hands touch my private parts while massaging my butt and legs. Then she flipped me over. She then moved her hands around my groin, touching sensitive spots quite often, obviously trying to turn me on. She played with me slightly till I was hard and then grabbed my hand and wanted me to play with myself for satisfaction. I told her I was not going to do that. She said she wasn't going to do it for me, but she keep caressing my groin and slightly touching me. This went on for 10 minutes. I got mad and I told her I was done and she quit.
