He brings an old school touch with a real level of meticulousness, honesty, and detail to ensure you're feel fresh and looking sharp when you leave. The shop itself transports you exactly to what you imagine when you think of the vintage, old school men's shop that most guys love. I'll be continuing to visit Mike regularly for my haircuts. (P.S. There might be a wait, but not only is it worth it, it's because he's the best around. Also don't forget cash like I did my first time!)

I had shown this barber multiple pictures and tried to explain what it is that I wanted, he said it was complicated but due to his 25 years of experience he could definitely work with it. I leave happy until I washed my hair and realized how random parts of my head were cut shorter than others and how disproportionate it looks. I tried calling this location multiple times for days but they never answered. Their answering machine states that I can schedule appointments on their Instagram but they never answered there either. I had to look for the barbers Instagram page to reschedule with him so that he may fix it and he told me to come at 4PM on my day off. I live 20 minutes away and tell me why this man waits until 3:41, as I'm driving, to tell me that he is stuck in Hartford and that he can't make it. I am currently at the shop waiting to speak to someone about this because I'm honestly fed up with this place and can't believe it went so downhill. Save your money and go somewhere else.

She used to work at a large Westerly establishment and then took off to start her own gig. One day she called me up to tell me to come on over and become a customer. I really can't judge hair cut quality. I'm a middle aged male who wears his hair short and gets it cut every 4-5 weeks. It can't be too hard to cut my hair. But this is what I like about Uhngi...she complains about the places that charge $30 to cut men's hair. In her own way, she is implying that the client is getting ripped off, i.e., it's an easy hair cut, not too much skill required, not too much hair to cut, etc. And for these reasons, $30 is overpriced for the work performed. For $18 at Uhngi Shea's, I get a great cut...care and attention to detail, good advice about my hair. I always tip her, and why shouldn't I? With a tip, my cost is still about 30% lower than the rest of the local salons. Overall, I've been very satisfied with Uhngi since I first became a client. I don't always get my hair cut in Westerly, but when I do, I get it cut at Uhngi Shea's.
