Worst haircut I've received in years, barber basically disregarded what I asked for and simply cut my hair as quick as possible. I might as well mention that Gabe is kind of racist. I felt very uncomfortable the entire experience, just for my barber to flip the chair around and my head looks like he cut my hair with a picket knife. Ugh, i've been putting this off. Want to know the reason? Gabe is the best barber in CT. Funny, personable, and great at cutting hair. Have seen him for 10 years now and i've never received anything but a great haircut. I hate to put the word out, because he's already pretty popular and I hate waiting. My sons and I were getting our haircut on a monthly basis, which equates to $60/month of business. Right before Christmas, my younger son got a cut. After his hair dried, we realized that it needed to be touched up because of unequal sideburns and the back was a complete mess. No one ever answers the phone, so I decided to just stop by for a quick fix-up. I returned the next night when the shop should have been open, but it was closed. We came back and the owner, Gabe, was there. He was doing a cut that I expect would be done soon by the look of the progress and there was nobody waiting. I asked for a quick touch-up when he was done, but he refused. He told me to come back the next morning, which was not possible. Ultimately after his unbending and not at all sympathetic manners, we left. Never going back! read more

It usually takes me a solid year to find a good barber that doesn't need to be babysat to cut a very simple military style haircut but not this time. First week here I did a quick Yelp search and found Gabe's barber shop so I snuck out of the house and off I went. There was already a good 45 minute wait when I showed up around 9am on a Friday but the barbers are very entertaining! They are all relatively young and cut like they've been doing it for 50ish years and don't even leave one strand of hair out of place. Oh, they'll even offer you a cold beer while you wait! I had Steve the first time and, I'm sorry, I cannot remember the two after that but each did an equally awesome job. I think its $17 for a cut or $12 for military. They moved to a new location in 11 Main St, less than a minute drive from the old address. By appointment only thru the app Booksy or by calling. I was able to walk in and get an appointment within an hour. Inside an abandoned-looking building. Entry door is on far right corner, has no signs but left cracked open. Inside is small but clean. Very professional and friendly. Top-notch haircuts. Will return again. read more

Stopped in today for the first time. With my hair cut its highly likely to get a bad cut. Although they were busy and there was only one barber (they are trying Monday business) the barber was excellent and did a great job. If they had another barber there to make the wait shorter this would have been 5 stars. I will definitely go back. read more

Just book ahead because Gabe is always slammed..... hands down best barber shop experience though.... my husband has been faithfully going to Gabe for probably over 15 years and I take my son to Gabe whenever I remember to book an apt! Best barbershop in the area. They take their time with the details but it isn't a 45 minute haircut. Great environment and the barbers all have great personalities. I walked in, had no wait, got exactly the haircut I wanted, and laughed almost the whole time. I used to go to Wayne's in Groton but the wait is ridiculously long.
